He is CX main financier for all his plots and scheming behind the scene with Feng Long. So I would say the purse is pretty important. Also Feng Long and other factions signed on board to support CX because of TSJ.

XY definitely didn't give up on Xiang Liu, despite numerous assasination attempts on CX's life. She remained in a close friendship and has more than friendship feelings for XL. So that's out the window about drawing the line for CX. I'm sure if XL kissed XY when she allowed him, she would have instantly fallen for him and be so tortured if he kept up with the assassination attempts, but she won't draw the line with XL.

That's really messed up!

First chinese drama this year I didn't press Fast Forward button while watching. I hate fillers and most Chinese drama has them.

Ah shucks! You gave the spoiler for S2 away. I read the novel and didn't want to spoil people so didn't refer to that aspect in my analysis LOL.

As toxic as TSJ's grandmother was, she was his last living parental figure who he owed love and care from so many years. If TSJ could easily abandone all of that, he would be heartless, someone XY could not have love. XY loves TSJ because he's forgiving, honorable, kind, caring and honest to everyone he loves. If he cuts things off clean like Cang Xuan, he could never get into Xiao Yao's heart. TSJ said to XY in the dragon bone prison that really moved her to promise to wait for him for 15 years: "Love isn't something to be measured or calculated. It just cannot be done." As a good businessman, he understood one really important aspect of life which many failed at. This is why XY chose TSJ.

TSJ never have eyes for any other woman. Despite the trap, I don't think XY would ever share him with anyone. He would never bed another woman intentionally or be able to treat another woman the same way he treats XY. XY was treated like TSJ was cheating, he was not. No intent, TSJ was a victim... drugged into it, I would say that's sexual assault. Just because TSJ is a man, doesn't mean he wasn't sexually assaulted and forced to be sexually involved with someone against his will? To leave a person who is sexually assaulted who now has a child from that, blaming it on the victim. Then his family forced him to marry the person who colluded with the plan to force sex on him unwillingly, Wow, that's just obscene. I don't think XY thought things through. XY abandoned TSJ in his time of need and hurt him as well as herself. No wonder he looked so awful with grayish hair like an old man while still in his youth in the last few episodes. I hope that gives you another perspective into what happened to TSJ rather than only XY's distorted one. The girl has serious issues! If my bf got drugged and fathered a child, I'll go after the woman that did it LOL... Xiang Liu was right about it when he said: "I work part-time as an assassin. I can take the other woman and her child out for you so you can be with TSJ." LMAO. Someone was clearly thinking straight.

I don't think Tushan Jing had not broken his promise with Xiao Yao. He knew he was set up and felt confused about what to do with the situation. Xiao Yao lost faith in him so quickly before he could figure out what to do with the sticky situation he found himself in. Xiao Yao left him first and cut off their relationship. She forces him to zombie through the rest of his family's trap, the loveless marriage. Xiao Yao looked for every hint to confirm her abandonment issues that "everyone leaves her."

Who is here after watching "Lost You Forever"? I was curious about the actor who played Feng Long in that drama and came here to learn more about his acting chops. A new face to remember!

This drama is a light-hearted romance with a decent plot. A hidden gem.

Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory isn't entirely accurate but I think she did one more more time after another failed assasination attempt that Xiang Liu saved her from at sea.

I wondered about Xiao Yao's mutation after being saved for 37 years on Xiang Liu's heart blood. If the mutation happened, how come her blood still has so much healing potential that she used it to heal TSJ again? Xiang Liu's blood is very poisonous and demonic. It changed her that she could breathe underwater.

Xiao Yao finishes her archery training with XL and becomes a skilled archer. TuShan Jing is married to his fiance whom he doesn't like and has a child. XY is engaged to Feng Long, Cang Xuan is crowned king.

In praise of Feng Long.

Anyone finding Feng Long attractive as a potential suitor for anyone to marry? I mean, he does look good on paper. Feng Long has a good family background. His character is honest, is a straight shooter, is loyal to friends and family, doesn't hold grudges and is quick to forgive, is ambitious with the right things for the clan and the happiness of the masses, is not a womanizer or doesn't care much about having multiple women. Feng Long doesn't know XY very well, nor has he spent much time with her. He doesn't think deeply but slowly has some insights into XY's character. He's not entirely unobservant. Feng Long is reliable and mentally healthy in our lineups of male characters who like XY, but that also makes him boring! Feng Long is the ideal type for marriage. The actor playing him is cute too;o)

I think Feng Long has many good qualities, and he respects his best friend's feelings to talk to Jing before proposing marriage to XY. FL is honest with XY about his intentions. I felt that for a typical girl, FL would make a great husband because one can expect him to behave accordingly with his husband's duties after marriage. Who knows, love can come from XY's time spent with him. FL is pretty stable and will keep his word to her to never leave her. They just haven't gotten to know each other much yet, and FL's attraction to XY is based on superficial interactions. Overall, I think FL is a very healthy character. Parents that loved him, no abandonment or traumatic childhood issues, and good support from friends and family. Even without his status or education, FL still makes an all-around solid husband material.

CRXY will prove to be more a piece of work in Season 2. Everyone stepped up and made sacrifices/ exposed themselves to vulnerability to be on Cang Xuan's side when he's in trouble or danger, including his newly married concubine, except her. It was a stark contrast between her and XY as CX puts it to Xiao Yao: "Nobody is a fool that makes all kinds of sacrifices for me while asking for nothing in return like you."

I've watched till episode 39. I'm getting to appreciate Cang Xuan's inner struggles more and find more empathy for him. In his own twisted way, he loves Xiao Yao unconditionally. It seems every male character who loves XY has their own challenges and restrictions of their circumstances. In their own twisted way, they do put her first despite the restrictions on their psyche and circumstances. Whether they can find a way around it or out of it to fully love and be available to meet XY's needs, that's the challenge.

Actors are trained to be able to cry (tears and all) at the drop of a hat! That's not unusual. It is very exhausting to do highly emotional scenes

His wife (not sure to call her that because he never consummated the marriage), conspired with her lover (his elder brother) to kill him and die. Her son is TSJ's nephew (borne between her and his elder brother), so he loves the kid regardless. It came to light before she died that they set TSJ up and she confessed to it. So the marriage is annulled.

It's not personal, it's a situation of two countries at war.

In the novel, XY later regrets her decision not to stand by TSJ's side and fight until the end, no matter what had happened, to investigate and makes things clear. She was so afraid of being abandoned and betrayed that she reacted impulsively instead of standing by his side to defend him. She stood on the sideline, judged him, and was heartbroken instead of trusting him to get to the bottom of how he was framed. XY later regrets what she did not do and reunites with TSJ again. She realized that it was her fault for not protecting him and standing by his side, to discard him so easily out of her own history of abandonment.

Especially when the original novel is so popular. When drama changed the novel in the screenplay and ending, the ratings always tanked.
