I don't think there's an S2, I think the ending was tightly tied with no loose ends... somethings were pending, that there was no need for a conclusion, like the plot of GBZ's missing sister.

So unlikely that Lord Chu as head of the intelligence service would be harmed by that fearful dancer is that he would show up , injured , at the moment Lord Wu Youjie takes over the agency, to send accept the order. For me, he and GBZ already expected this to happen.

I still haven't figured out how important Liu Feng is in the plot, since all he's done so far is complain about his brother-in-law, argue with his father and try to talk to the dancer... He only seems to respect his sister.

I don't know who created the nickname Lord Rug with rodent, but it turned out perfect. I don't see him as a member of the Four Season, but he like everyone around the empress wants power. He was obviously resentful when he was given the title of Duke rather than Minister of War.

Regarding BHY's missing/dead brother everything leads us towards him being a member of the Four Season, and I also think as it was said in some comment here, that if that's the way the trio WSY, GBZ and BHY are incredibly unlucky in as far as family and friends are concerned. Their luck was that they met and formed an alliance.

I agree with you. The last two episodes were great. It improved a lot after adding new characters.

The first part was all intricate, a web of interlocking events and hidden characters .
Now the new characters seem like they don't need to hide.
The new 16th night assassin, didn't bother to hide her face, and the facts seem to be there for anyone who wants to pull the thread and read the undercover plot. What can, and should, be an illusion.

At the moment I like to see the evolution of the characters like GBZ. There was a change in the clothes, the face, the attitudes. At first he wore torn clothes, dirty and loose hair, a disheveled beard, acted impulsively and only his motives were enough. Of course he had an update in status. But the early GBZ is totally different from the current one, which is now involved with BHY and especially WSY.

BHY has also changed, he now smiles. It's no longer that emotionless and distant that we saw at the beginning That like BZ, he just wanted to know about his motives.. He now shows interest in his wife, GBZ and SY, and in the whole situation.

And we have a constant which is WSY, she has a linear trajectory. Her evolution is emotional, as she has already confessed an interest in BZ, but that doesn't distract her from what she is. At least until now.
