Fugui is kind of rebellious and it's quite funny. And he is not rebellious in a harmful way. He knows his dad doesn't let anyone touch that mask, not only did he touched it, he even wore it right in front of his dad and caused his dad to go crazy in remembering his trauma 🤣 Another scene, he told his dad "That's your weakness not mine." (Something like that.) And then in another episode, he asked his dad "Why?" twice, making his dad speechless. Fugui is funny in his own way 😭
Honestly, he is staying as the "Soldier" of Yi Qi Alliance not because of fear or blindly following responsibilities but because of his love and understanding for his parents and also the kindness in his heart to help the Yi Qi Alliance slay those evil demons.
I haven't watched the rest of interconnected series so i need t know if it is very necessary to watch them? I…
Look at my discussion post on this page! I shared the important points about Love in Pavilion (Fugui's parents story). I dropped Red Moon Pact though, so I'm not too sure about stuff from RMP.
sword n beloved heat index didn't go up.even it went down drastically.i just lost my interest in this.may be i…
Honestly, I'm just supporting CY, LYT, the other amazing actors and actresses, the engaging show itself, and the staff who made this possible. Sometimes, it's best not too get too carried away by data. As long as more new people enjoy and talk about the show, I'm glad!
I don’t think Yuechu is going to show up in this series. For that to happen, Gong Jun would need to reprise…
Yepp I find it quite smart of the adaptation to do that. Quan Rumu is actually Wangquan Wumu in the donghua, but he does not exist in the same timeline as Fugui.
I just realised! Didn't the black fox said she has some clones or something? What if the butterfly spirit/demon is one of her clones? She seems sus. Or if not, I wonder who are her clones...
Guess everyone hoped for a no sentiment, ice cold warrior I guess. I'm glad he is not one though, he knows what…
Yess honestly, I realised Cheng Yi chooses really good scripts. All of his characters are NOT the one-dimensional kind. And the from the dramas he choose, plenty of life lessons and values can be learnt!
Truth to be told, before Sword and Beloved aired, I thought Fugui was going to be stoic and emotionless. I'm so pleasantly surprised at his character. Despite not getting to see the outside world and having a terrible father, he's mature, smart, logical, not blindly obedient, stubborn (in a good way), kind, understanding, playful (with his cousin) and so much more...
I've just created a discussion on some important background information from Love in Pavilion, not sure if I did it right because it's my first time! Also not sure if it's 100% accurate because it's all from my memory. Please do have a look at it if you want to know some important stuff from LiP! 😊 Feel free to correct me too if I'm wrong!
I seriously love that Fugui wants Qing Tong to find her own pathway. Throughout the episodes so far, he has always wanted to give her a choice to make her OWN decisions. In the beginning, he even asked her if she herself wanted to become a human before using the pearl to turn her into human. This man is seriously too good...
Additionally, he even admired that she managed to escape with her brother from Madam Yin. If you pause at the right moment, he had a slight smile on his face upon hearing that...He acknowledges her own strength despite her being a small spider demon.
That line across Qing Ting nose, is that to make her look more cartoonish or is it a scar that hasn’t healed?
If you search up Qing Tong from Fox Spirit Matchmaker donghua, her character design has that scar across her nose. The drama is trying to follow as much as possible the character designs in the donghua.
Am I the only liking Feng Tingyun? We're actually seeing her internal struggles. She's not just a one-dimensional character. Yes, she did try to kill Qing Tong, but I believe it was because she blamed herself for trusting this spider demon (Qing Tong) and letting her infiltrate into the Wangquan Manor in the first place, leading to her senior (Fugui) getting poisoned. And yes, she is prejudiced towards demons. But, that is also because of how her family were killed by demons when she was young + her master's teachings too. Isn't this just like the real world? Only when you come into contact with and start to understand the other group then your prejudice will gradually fade away. Feng Tingyun's heart isn't bad, she is just misguided by her current experiences with demons and beliefs. You can tell from how Fugui also trusts her and the way she treats Qing Tong afterwards. In the end, she did give up her one-sided love for Fugui without blaming anyone. Her words telling Qing Tong that she will cause trouble to Fugui is also true from her perspective. Fugui is the Yiqi Alliance's "soldier". If he is caught with a demon, he's definitely going to get punished. Feng Tingyun is actually truly thinking for him while at the same time, she wants him to be happy.
Anyways I really like her character's complexity. To viewers, she may be the bad guy getting in the way of our CP, but she's actually a really rational character (for her circumstances). I'm looking forward to see if she'll manage to put away her prejudice for demons in future episodes!
The soundtrack for this drama doesn't sound very pleasant, especially the ancient flute or something I can't quite…
I understand what you mean. I was slightly taken aback in the first few episodes but after that I gotten used to it. I think they're trying to give off a similar vibe to the donghua!
Is Madam Yi the older version of Du Niang Zi (portrayed by Chen Yu Qi) from LIP?
They have different names (Madam Yin vs. Du Niang Zi) in the drama but yes I believe they are the same person/character. In the donghua, they are indeed the same person!
