To me, it's a casting problem. Chemistry cannot be "written" to exist between actors. It is either there or it…
I don't think it's a soga only problem, i mean if you read the manga, sakae and soga has much more interactions w each other, it's a really short manga so sakae confesses pretty early on and is openly flirty w him even before that but in this drama they had so many new original new characters, like the best friend and the female co-worker (i dont mind them, they were really well written characters) and an original ex-boyfriend to boot with whom they wrote in way too many significant scenes and not to mention how they wrote soga to be such an old dry man w no interesting or intersecting hobbies w sakae, idk how the actors would create chemistry in that situation no matter how well they get along
The screen writer of this sequel def outdid themself, every single ep was perfect, the humour was perfect and not over done, the character relationships were really heartwarming, like i really am going to miss them so fricking much 😠in the first season i didn't particularly like buchou's character that much (i didn't hate him either) but in this sequel i fell in love w him, his scenes were iconic in every ep and you could see how much the cast was having fun filmming the show, they did so many ad-libs this season and all of them were chef's kiss (like that one scene in ep 7 where maki and buchou end up breaking the house/set door cuz they were too into fighting e/o 😂) i also really love how there was a whole ass secret agent angst arc going on parallely with the comedic storyline ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Perfect propose def stands at the top rankings at the 2024 J BL list for me at this moment, the actors did great, their chemistry was top notch too and i also loved how they stuck to the manga storyline and instead of changing the original flow of the story like many adaptations tend to do, they decided to just add more details to the scenes and make the story look more alive
Anyone who is thinking whether to watch it or not, please do not hesitate and go ahead, you won't regret your decision!
They had a great actors, a good budget that many of the J BLs don't get and a good manga story to adapt to boot but i can't believe the script writers fumbled so bad and forgot to write the chemistry between the main characters ðŸ˜
We got another kamen rider in the BLverse 🤣 just watched the first ep and i gotta say the acting is top tier and the plot execution too, can't wait for the next eps to drop!!
I'm rating this movie 10/10 bc of how they presented the complexity of perception in such a simple way, in the end the monster that the title referred to was actually not the characters in the movie but us the audience, i totally fell in love w the story telling and how skillfully all the actors esp the child actors who played yori and minato executed their roles, if you're coming across the movie for the first time then please don't hesitate to watch it, i promise you its worth every second of your time
Ahhhhh i'm really going to miss this show so much
