I just love these two when they’re cast together. Adored their last collaboration as a pairing too, (I get so happy whenever I hear that they’re working on a new project, their chemistry is always on point.) What makes them so special to watch is that they seem to choose wonderful storylines and they’re both equally matched in terms of their acting, neither outshines the other because they honestly compliment each others acting styles. Visually they’re both stunning, he’s always so stoic and handsome and she’s just a tiny bundle of cuteness…but she definitely knows how to turn up the heat. When he plays a smitten husband to any of her characters within their mutual collaborations, it honestly feels believable. If you haven’t watched any of the others that they’ve been cast together in, definitely DO! You’ll find yourself grinning.

At this point, I’m here for the food scenes and all the screenshots that I’ve taken of their house plants so that I can ask my local florist or garden center if they have something similar in stock. Plot? None. Character development? Debatable. Soundtrack? Forgettable. Visuals? Solid 10, total cuties. Acting? Given the small cast, these two (oddly) don’t have enough genuine interactions together to judge, it’s a mystery to me if they even know much about each other as their characters, their time is basically spent kissing and having food fights….sorta. I’ve wanted to quit watching a few times because I’m just confused by the entire show, but at the same time, they’re both so stinkin’ cute and I want to support their hard work, especially after seeing their dynamics in their other series. I suppose if any reflection on this show should be made, it’s that the writing and overall production failed them. (But whomever is in charge of plant care gets a solid 10 rating from me, I’ve seriously bought two more plants into my home since I started watching this.) 🤷🏻‍♀️🪴

Was here for the group therapy that I so desperately need after watching YSL completely fall apart during this episode. I’ve got real trauma, that acting was some of the best I’ve seen in ANY series. Currently under a fleece blanket pondering my decision to watch, wondering why even though I KNEW what was coming, I still wanted to torture my emotions this morning. It’s like I’m FX, just self-sabatoging and self-destructing. 🥺 I’m in need of a spiked hot chocolate, some fuzzy slippers and my cat. 😂

I had an eclectic neighbor that lived down the street from me growing up, he once told a group of us neighborhood kids that listening to some of Ozzy’s songs backwards would reveal hidden messages. Has anyone ever tried watching this series backwards in an effort to understand the plot? If so, please tell me that the grunting turn into yodeling.

Hae Jun, whilst being treated with a mysterious bandaid: “Is this a punishment, or a reward?”
Me, confused: “I suspect that we’re ALL being punished.” 🤡
On the plus side though, that magically refilling water bottle is probably why those house plants are thriving….

guys what is going on in the comments?? i am going through serious fomo so I am gonna watch too ; LET ME INN
I wish there was a way that I could insert the “We all float down here” meme from IT because we’re all clowns for tuning in to this mess every week, our only excuse is that it’s so ridiculously bad that it’s good. So welcome to the chaos, “You’ll float too.” 😂

There’s really no dialogue, monologue, or interesting plot or development between these characters so there’s not much of a storyline. Instead, there are awkward moments of one (or both) of them just staring off into space without much thought or concept, a lot of bad directing, bad sound editing, bad set design and comically bad styling. I only say the latter two things because it’s possible that house plants were injured or displaced during filming and because apparently no one in the styling department knows how shirt buttons actually work. Basically this is a show about a cute character that occasionally has the munchies and episodes of random grunting…in fact he grunts more than he actually speaks. I’m not even sure that the grunting was written into the script because nothing the character is doing warrants it. But by all means, volume up for that. Maybe there’s a hidden message in all that grunt work. Blink twice or shake a plant if you need help…..

Episode 4 sent me cackling! I actually thought that plant was levitating….which wouldn’t have surprised me at this point, because nothing about this show has made much sense. The writing and direction have ALL been a bit chaotic and in the way of itself, much like that plant. I had to actually stop counting the amount of times that the same button on his black shirt was actually unbuttoned but then re-buttoned during the same scene. That’s some mind numbing repeated scene work to act out for these two leads. Maybe we’re all getting Punk’d. Maybe the last episode will be a scene of our poor student simply haven fallen asleep during art class while having a really bad fever dream about his freaky professor. Show ends with him waking up horrified, grabbing the potted plant and shoving it into the arms of apple girl where she nurtures it and waters it with apple juice. I mean maybe it’s the only thing that will make any sense at this point.

I totally agree. So adorable and funny. Which one is an other version?
If you liked the quirkiness of the FL (Deng Ling Shu) in this one, you’ve got to check out her latest rom-com in which she’s starring opposite Ma Xiao Yu. It’s an absolute riot, it’s a bit of a spin on a transmigrated FL character….in her real life she had been a very wealthy and feared top assassin, but she transmigrates into the role of an aggrieved wife. But when she transmigrated, she kept her fighting skills but she also somehow obtained the power to jinx/curse any opponent of hers (except her husband,) who can suddenly hear her inner thoughts. Total laugh fest, and the ML is confused by her personality change but absolutely smitten by her antics eventually. She definitely plays the best, chaotic FL characters, love her! Hopefully this link for her new one still works, it’s been taken down a few times already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kcz7siwoiBo

The FL is cute in every role she’s played, but I’ve never wanted her to be my real life bestie as much as I did while watching her here. Her character matches my level of quirky and sassy. I just wanted to put her in my pocket or drive around town with her sitting beside me as my sidekick. This is going on my rewatch list. It’s not groundbreaking in terms of writing or plot, but it’s super cute and enjoyable.

This is the third collaboration and by far the worst. Poor story and execution and the famous abs didn't make…
Agreed, the story was just a total mess. I stuck through it until the end, but unfortunately the writing did no favors for either of the leads and as a result, it barely showcased their talent. Such a shame, was really looking forward to this one.

Having seen several of the recently released versions of this story, I have to admit that this one is the most HYSTERICAL and fun. I loved it, nearly zero angst and so cute. Both of the leads are so comically motivated in their scenes and they play their roles so well, fully committed. Another version of this story has more physical heat and fire, but these two totally won me over with their natural, playful chemistry. The FL is deliciously quirky in this one and the ML is deliciously broody. Together they’re just a well flavored dish for a viewers eyes to feast on. 😂❤️ Highly recommend this version, just smiled the entire time, some of the scenes with the FL had me laughing so hard that my cheeks were puffing. High rewatch value for the comedy alone, but there were some pretty playful scenes and cute kisses between them too.

This is the first show that I’ve watched in which a FL transmigrates into a novel and becomes the step-mother of a man that murders her and her husband (his father.) But in this case she transmigrates into the villains far past, so he’s just a young child and she has the opportunity to change his future before he later turns murderous when he becomes an adult. Upon transmigrating, she also learns that the original owner of the body that she’s now in had been abusive to the boy, so she’s very determined to be a good step-mother to him now that she’s taken over the original owners life. No spoilers, but there are some frickin’ funny scenes. Especially since she’s in a loveless and cold business with the ‘little villains’ father. She has to try to win them both over so that the little boy won’t grow up to murder them both in the future. 😂 Lord did I LAUGH. And the “little villain” is actually really adorable. Budget isn’t the biggest and the translations are rather wonky, but I honestly enjoyed this one.

No spoilers, but this one is a bit of a mess. I’ve really enjoyed their other collaborations, but sadly this one disappoints. Editing is choppy, sound is often muffled, the auto translations are messy for each link, and the storyline is simple yet they’ve complicated it by the missing subs in some of the texting scenes, the weak side characters and the drab styling. But the biggest miss for me here is the lack of chemistry between the leads, which seems nonsensical given their chemistry in prior works. I’m not sure if I fully grasped either character here, even though their backstories were sometimes depicted. I guess the writing/story just felt a bit lackluster, or some scenes could have been better depicted. Oh well, I’ll look forward to their next collaboration because I do adore them together.

Future viewers, no spoilers with what happens in the actual plot, but just know going in that in terms of screen time, the ex husband and his ongoing storyline take up about 65% of the show. Then about 15% of the show is centered around the FL trying to reclaim everything from her dowry and actually filing for divorce. Regarding her relationship with her 2nd husband, only about 20% of the storyline is centered around their new relationship or their interactions. If you’re looking for a strong romance, there are definitely a few sprinkles of it, but this is more about a FL regaining her self esteem, her career drive and her financial assets.

Title Jin Shang Yue Guang Spoiler
This was solid writing but the editing was a bit sloppy in a few parts, the story itself was interesting. That…
ML is a very interesting character that you really get to see different sides of throughout the show, he had great scenes and stellar expressions. However, the writers of this show really failed his character a bit towards the end, because in the latter half, he SA’s the FL on several occasions, with the implication that it was definitely non consensual and very forced. She is seen in full distress, crying and saying no. And at another point, she’s rather coerced by him into intimacy after he roughly ties her hands together in a fit of rage and becomes verbally and physically aggressive. He then later restrains her to a bed with cuffs with the implication that it’s for an extended period of time in which she’s basically being held captive. These scenes (while short,) were a total let-down as they were written for his character. Watching a woman in complete distress while trying to avoid SA from someone she loves and then being held captive by him is not romantic. It would be tragic and unforgivable. I was a bit taken aback given how great the plot had been up until these late scenes. Sigh.

This was solid writing but the editing was a bit sloppy in a few parts, the story itself was interesting. That said, our ML is NOT a green flag. The FL transmigrates into a novel she’s written and finds herself playing an evil role. She does everything she can to change things, which is fun to watch. The ML eventually falls for her, but I’m posting a spoiler below regarding trigger warnings for those that may find it hard to watch. (If not for the scenes depicted in my spoiler, I’d have given this a solid 8.5 rating because the acting was great, the story was great, the styling was great.)
