Yes I was hoping she would finally let lose for once and give them a piece of her mind, and tell them off for being bad parents. They way they tore her book, refused to let her perform, demanded she breaks up with her bf and threw their marriage certificate on the floor. All those actions and more, were so hurtful. That confrontation scene was just not satisfactory.
I finished this and it's a feel good light drama. I think this drama would have been better with a different director…
FL's brother out of the blue asked Baihui to be his gf and without even waiting for her reply, already planned out their whole future together starting from marriage, home and children. What? who does that? Then the conclusion with her nasty parents was so dissatisfying. All of a sudden after being unreasonable for 20 something years, they just give in after she told them a sob story. Ha! I do not believe it for a second they will stop being controlling after being this way with her for her whole life.
Ting ting was never shown to have any romantic feeling for QY for 27 episodes but she seeing him talking with the Ramen lady turned her into some unreasonable woman who ignored QY for weeks after...that's all it took. I really don't know what to say to this.
I love all the couples in the drama but it sure would be nice to show how they gradually start liking each other and change from friends to lovers.

The 2nd and 3rd couples love stories were underdeveloped. They just do a 180 and remove all the scenes leading up to their confession, and instead of a feeling of anticipation, you just end up feeling underwhelmed. I'll put the rest under spoiler.
I think JYB best look is his proposal scene, with his bangs off his forehead, whereas, SFX, with side bangs. I do not like his doctor look with bangs slicked back.
Even though they have accepted their relationship, Baihui was being way too apologetic and too soft on her parents and I don't think they will stop being controlling of her. They are going to control where they live, when to have children and how many, criticize how they are raising their kids etc.
I thought in China, students were getting paid to do researches and projects in Graduate programs or PHD. I know that in Canada most of them are getting paid, similar to internships.
Ep 26: FL and her brother talking in the kitchen was so cute especially when he used Cantonese to say "I really don't understand what you're saying" lol
According to Baihui's parents: getting into a good university is not so you can get a good paying job but to be able to catch a good husband to support you for the rest of your life, because that's what rich families look for in a wife, is a prestigious university degree they are not going to use lol What kind of logic is that?!

I can see why people didn't like the FL. She is so arrogant and reckless, it annoyed me. Also ungrateful and entitled. The ML saved her so many times and not even a thank you and a show of appreciation. Every time he tells her it's too dangerous for her to be involved, she would threaten to divorce him.
So I'm not the only one! kind of want Su mo x Ting ting & Qiyan x Yi yuan (shop owner lady) but that's impossible
Why? I haven't seen Ting ting interested in Qiyan yet and it has been 5 years since they have graduated HS. I figure if they were interested in each other, it would've been shown by now.
