Ahh if you like Japanese BLs there's also Keita Hatsukoi. Its not perfect but i enjoyed it. And a new one called Mr.Unlucky started airing last week if I'm not mistaken.

EarthMix have two BLs slated this year, one of which is already airing (haven't been to it yet) so now would be a good time to watch ATOTS if you wanna familiarize yourself with them. But you can also watch them starting with their other series hehehe. Earth is a bl veteran but i loved him best with Mix on ATOTS. As for To my Star, the sequel comes out June and Korean BLs are usually pretty short so I suppose you can easily binge them together and get in the *feels*

but before that, Yes. MaxTul are my favorite BL pair because they bring good acting and chemistry to almost every role they play together. and they also have a very endearing friendship irl.
My recommendations:
Until we Meet Again (major tissue warning)
A tale of a thousand stars (a little tissue warning if you are sensitive)
where your eyes linger (one of the better Korean mini-bl series)
Cherry Magic (its really really cute and the leads have amazing chemistry even with minimal skinship)
To my Star (best Korean mini-bl in my opinion, and its also getting a second season soon)

Yess, I've watched both seasons of We Best Love. I've been watching BLs for years so I catch up to quite a lot, hahaha. I loved both seasons. For once the Uni setting did not bother me as much as it usually does.
For HiStory my favorite is History 3: Trapped. Its a gangster/police romance so I guess you'll like it since you seem interested in these themes. History 3 Make our days count was amazing as well but it has a sad ending so you can watch if you don't mind that.

I recently saw the trailer for Plus and Minus and was so glad we got another one where we see actual working adults. Taiwan does give us more in this respect. I am still waiting on watching it though cause there's only 3 eps out and there are only so many BLs that I can watch while they are still ongoing.

Yes soul reapers are dead. The rules change depending on the series. In the context of this series, it seems that the reapers spend time in the mortal world at all times. I don't know how best to word this but they perhaps do not have a world like the spirit world, heaven, hell and stuff because they are souls needed on earth to guide others on their journey. And when they are not working, they blend in with humans (in this case whenever he is wearing his Hawaiian attire). So since he is presenting as a human to people like Doctor Nuch, he still pays rent like a normal human.
