Listen. TOTS is a spin off like Mystic Nine and the lu han movie. They're obviously placed on the timelinebut…
TOTS can be called as spin off but it's also a sequel of Dao Mu Bi Ji like the reboot. TOTS is the 2nd sequel of dmbj while reboot/chongqi is the 3rd sequel

I am sorry to bother you with this but can you enlighten me about 66 episodes of this series.. Is it announced…
I've got information to that. Basically after editing they have 72 eps. But because chinese government restricted this show to release scenes about this "strange" disease the producers need to cut out these scenes that talks about this disease so they've got 66 eps. And because of long-episode restrictions from the government they cut these eps into 2 seasons

I would like to know the time gap between This series and The tomb of the sea. If the plan already happend before…
Actually I've done reading the last 3 books of Dao mu Bi Ji (volumes 6-8) in the last part of book 8 the author created the generalized timeline (when wu xie was born until when wu xie started tomb raiding) and recently I've seen the specified timeline created by the fan which is almost the same from the author's timeline so I followed that.

That's what I also don't why they chose the older actors for TOTS (I guess its the choice of the director of tots). From what I can say they arent really changing the actors without reason. As for Pangzi, the actor who took that role in this version is the same as in tots. The actor of pangzi in lost tomb 2 is the same pangzi in tomb raiders and probably the same in heavenly palace (lost tomb 2 part 2).
As for zhang qiling they choose the tall and handsome actors based on whether they're busy. The one who acted as zql in tots is the same qiling in season 3(ultimate chronicles). And for Wu Xie the actors were changing because after lost tomb they will become as busy as the class-A actors as they be

Zhang Qishan (Fo Ye) is the ancestor of Men Youping. Men You Ping is the real name of xiao ge. Zhang Qiling is…
Actually there are a lot of Zhang Qiling out there but Men Youping (xiao ge) is the last zhang qiling. Maybe he became the last qiling because he didnt die yet so he cant be replaced but I think he became the last because zhang family lost their power from guarding that gate without the nine-gate families helping the zhang from guarding that gate

And actually that's the reason why Lost Tomb: Reboot is also called as reunion because that's the 2nd time (Episode 3) they were reunited again as iron-triangle after xiao ge came back from the bronze gate. And this season is the first journey they have as a team after him going back from guarding that gate

Yes tots happened before Reboot. The reason why xiao ge isnt in tots (just his presence in their memory) is because during that time he's still guarding the bronze gate. Around 2005 he replaced Wu xie as a guardian of the gate because he wants him to continue living in innocence. What he did for replacing Wu Xie is directly translated as "Using the rest of my life to grant you ten years of carefree life and innocence." thats actually the reason why both of them were shipped by the fans of DMBJ

Tomb of The Sea happened around 2014. That time ZQL is still guarding the bronze gate. Around 2015 he came out from the gate and his time for guarding the gate is over he lives in a secluded place for 2 years and just came to Wu Xie year 2017 after he learned from Wu Xie that he's sick

How is qiling related to qishan of the zhang family
Zhang Qishan (Fo Ye) is the ancestor of Men Youping. Men You Ping is the real name of xiao ge. Zhang Qiling is just a title for those Zhang who have high position in their family. The reason why the name is qiling because of the deep meaning of the qiling and also because of the kylin tattoo that they earned as a head of theor family

Oh thanks:) the lost tomb is really confusing by dividing into many difference franchise. And i need to watch…
There's no Zhang Qilin in Mystic 9 but his ancestor named Fo Ye is there. The main characters are Fo Ye and Er Ye with Chen Pi and Madam Huo. Remember Granny Huo the one who humiliated Wu Xie in season 1.

Yes there's no iron-triangle in Mystic 9 but because it's a parental story of lost tomb you will understand more about the 9 gates.

In the novel there's an info there where the one who save ZQL from the Japanese (or foreigner) is Chen Pi Ah Si. So before meeting Wu Xie, Qiling's master is chen pi. You will see how treacherous chen pi is from the mystic9.

Me too. I like the story itself thats why even if the actors are changing I am still looking forward to watch them, only mystic 9 and the tomb of the sea are series of Dao Mu Bi Ji that I never dared to watch. For Fatty's character he already has sense of humor himself so no matter who will act it its already fine. As for Zhang Qiling or Men Youping he's a mute character or snobbish so no matter who will act as him as long as he is tall and handsome its already enough. As for Wu Xie the one who portrays him must understand the character well, and needs to work hard because those who portrayed as him in the prev seasons are already great.

For me I like all of the seasons but I favored Reboot because the gang iron-triangle already gained deep understanding between them

On Ultimate Note Aug 7, 2020
Some had mistaken. This season isn't the continuation of the story of lost tomb 2. There's another season where it follows the volume 4 of the novel this is called "Lost Tomb 2: Heavenly Palace on the Clouds" it will be released probably this year or next year.

So for the order of Dao Mu Bi Ji pls follow this (to be sure that you won't be mislead)

Mystic Nine (happened 50 years before the main event of Dao Mu Bi Ji)
Lost Tomb 1 (Vol 1 of Dao Mu Bi Ji)
Lost Tomb 2: Explore with the Note (Vol 2-3)
Lost Tomb 2: Heavenly Palace on the Clouds (Vol 4)
Lost Tomb 3: Ultimate Chronicles (Vol 5-7)
Lost Tomb: Tibetan Sea Flowers (5 years after the main event of Dao Mu Bi Ji)
Tomb of the Sea (8 years after the main event of Dao Mu Bi Ji)
Lost Tomb: Reboot (10 years after the Tomb of the Sea)

For Heavenly Palace and Final Chronicles they will be released probably this year while Tibetan Sea Flowers will be next year I guess.

Note:
Tibetan Sea Flowers or Tibetan Flowers is the 1st sequel of the Dao Mu Bi Ji and is called as "Dao Mu Bi Ji: Zang Hai Hua"
Tomb of the Sea is the 2nd sequel and is called as "Dao Mu Bi Ji: Sha Hai"
Reunion: Sound of Providence/Lost Tomb: Reboot is the 3rd sequel of Dao Mu Bi Ji and is called as "Dao Mu Bi Ji: Chong Qi

This is The Lost Tomb 3-carries on from where season 2 left off. Reunion is set ten years in the future.
Nope. The continuation of lost tomb 2 is Heavenly Palace on the Clouds. This one is after the heavenly palace

The order is like what Star Kongbini said;- Mystic Nine (2016) [50 years before the main event]- Lost Tomb 1 (2015)…
Me too. I only read the main novel not the sequels, but because I didn't buy the first 6 books so I only read the vols 6-8 of Dao Mu Bi Ji. I really don't understand why I'm not interested in the sequels of Dao Mu Bi Ji. As of now I'm still at chapter 13 of Zang Hai Hua (1st sequel of Dao Mu bi Ji) even though I started reading them almost a month now. So I understand you

Everything you said is right except for the other one. Tomb of the Sea is not a side story. It's a 2nd sequel of Dao Mu Bi Ji. I guess it can also be called as side story cuz the focus is the other not in Wu Xie himself

Old Dog Wu (Wu Xie's grandfather) only have 3 sons. His eldest son continued studying and leave out their family's business (that's why he had a son and that son is Wu Xie who never told by them about their real business). Old Dog Wu made his second son (Uncle Er) as his successor
