That's what I don't understand. If Bai Yicong is a staff (either screenwriter or producer) of all live adaptations of lost tomb except reunion then why did they didn't let him be casted again, if its his agency who produced the lost tomb 1. But I'm glad that the quality of this show is upgraded not like in lt1. I mean I like lt1 but they included a character which is not in the books and also included the auction which is in book 7 (lt1 changed the storyline much worse)
Both. It is a good thing because lots of viewers want action more than the talking, and we dont like the story if the pacing is slow. It is also bad cuz if they became engrossed in saving airtime then they need to compress the story which tends to few info and details lacking or not explained comprehensively
This series is really fastpaced. To save airtime, since ep17 the trio is covering the 2nd version of book 6 while xiao hua and xiu are covering the book 8 (going to sanxing/lianhuan place) at the same time. This is the outcome if the show covered 3 books with 1 book having 2 versions with only few produced episodes lol

Really? So there is more to it than what I comprehend. But some says that when wu xie was born laogu tried harder to get the wu family out of nine gate's business. So if what you said about wu xie being chosen since the beginning by his grandfather then the fact (or just speculation) that laogu wants the wu to end their connection in mystic nine really overlapsed. Your statement about Wu xie has greater connection with wang is indeed sensible afterall that's the only reason why "it" interfered and sent the tapes to wu xie to make sure that he will involve himself and include himself in the picture

True they trained him to follow qi yu's path. Isnt in too funny? Laogu did everything he could to leave the mystic nine and to stop his own family in continuing the tomb raiding business and deciding that it would be ended in their era thus laogu didn't forced his 1st son (wu xie's father) in acquiring their family business. They even name him as "wu xie" cuz they want him to live as innocent and no evil. Yet because of Qi Yu their dream of making wu xie leave the business is shattered and they changed course and trained him to be him when the time comes
i like how xiao hua and black glasses have a bromance in ultimate, and it comes naturally
Yes their bromance is great. Wu xie and xiao hua looks cute too when theyre angry with each other in ep16 it made me think that they look good together lol

Some speculated that qi yu and wu xie looked alike, and I believe that as well cuz instead of training him for tomb raiding, laogu and sanxing trained him calligraphy and proper mannerism of qi yu. I believe that mystic nine chose 2 descendants to continue what they started. Xiao hua, they trained him since young for the tomb raiding field (to continue what the mystic nine started) and wu xie, they trained him how to be qi yu (because they planned to use him to infiltrate "it" by using qi yu's identity) knowing that "it" is the one who planted qi yu on them during their underwater expedition in xisha

Watching xiao hua and black glasses having their own bromance makes me realized or remembered that xu lei intended to make xiao hua be a pingxie's 3rd party (yes he created his character with an intention that he will somehow become wu xie's other bromance couple despite of them being cousins) but because of the pingxie shippers having lots of complains for it, then xu lei decided to not do it and paired xiao hua with the other instead

Guarding the gate is indeed difficult because you must not be terrified for everything that you see in there. For 10 years you will keep seeing ghosts and evil things there alone so one must be strong. If one will decide to guard the gate he needs to remember that he cant open the gate in between that 10 years, so he isn't just abandoning his life but also his freedom and innocence as well. That's why xiao ge decided to guard the gate in wu xie's place without asking him, cuz he wants wu xie to have his 10 years of innocence even in exchange of his 10 years of life and safety. CWJ and ZQL described the secret behind the gate as "ultimate" that can't be described in words, but I believe that it is the end of all (behind the gate of the living is the dimension of the dead, so it is indeed the end for the living lol)

Xiao ge went into the bronze gate in book 4 and book 8. There will be a live adaptation for book 4 but it isn't released yet. As for book 8 I don't know if someone acquired a right to produce it cus ultimate note will only covers book 5-7 as the editor of this page written. But somehow there are 2 shows that somehow discussed or gave us glimpse of qiling going into the bronze gate. First is the song intro for reunion (some theres a scene there about the gate if I'm not mistaken), and second in this show UN (Joseph as wu xie storytell his past experiences with qiling and fatty) in the first ep he introduced the episode by telling us that he and fatty witnessed qiling went into the gate with the ghost army (its the one in book 4

The bronze gate already existed way before foye formed the mystic nine (mystic nine consists of the nine people as the head of their respective families). Zhang are the ones who protect the secret of the bronze gate. During mystic nine era the power of zhang weakened thus qiling met with mystic nine asking for their help in guarding the gate in exchange of his help to them. There are only 2 who were confirmed who came back from the bronze gate and they are Wen Jing and xiao ge (so obviously both of them witnessed the "ultimate" that lies behind it). I think black glasses also witnessed that as well which led him becoming blind (no one confirms it but I believed this). When xiao ge seeks the help of mystic nine, the agreement was made but because they are vicious and scoundrels thus none of them held the end of the promise. Actually when the main story of dmbj ended it is the Wu's responsibility to guard the gate so as the only descendant of the wu, Wu Xie is assigned to guard the gate, but in exchange of his 10 years of innocence xiao ge volunteered himself to guard the gate for 10 years in wx place. Yeah that's my mistake. And you know what while writing his name I indeed thinking of leo wu (the one who acted li cu in tots). Anyway aside of those facts about the author (story was inspired from hhc, and him and his roommate as wu xie and qiling) there is also a fact about him, he came from a not well-off family. So I believe that his struggles in living inspired him to visualize the struggles of wu xie. Yes in their fanmeet he is the first one who did the digging gesture for sanshu, and after it the trio changed it as count off 3,2,1 lol
My advice to you is not to follow reunion's past storyline. Reunion happened year 2017 (13 years after ultimate note) and the past storyline wherein wenjing left sanxing when the latter is researching about thunder city in reunion (the timeline for it must not be followed in regular storyline of daomubiji). Wenjing will live as long as she will stay inside the meteorite like the queen, to avoid her body from transforming or mutating which is the effect of the pill she forced to take

Yes xu lei is the author (sorry for misleading you actually his family name is xu not wu lol) his english name is kennedy xu and pen name is nanpai sanshu. Yilong described him as an author who keeps on making his readers hanging for his unfinished storyline (the digging gesture in reunion s2 fanmeet). As for bromance dramas that adapted from novel, I don't know much.

Sure you can. The power of meteorite is not frightening but addictive. But being addict for something that you wish to have but cant acquire is terrifying enough if you can't handle it. The queen stayed there for a long time because for immortality while Wen Jing planned to go there because she research and found out that the meteorite can give her desire which is to stop her body from mutating (the substance that injected on them)
