But even though xiao hua had been trained and prepared in tomb raiding business he still became the master since young so he cant focus both in doing expedition and manage the xie properties in the same time. Actually xiao hua's first appeaeance in the novel is in book 7 it is when he decided to help granny huo in knowing what happened to the real huo ling. I'm also glad that he was introduced already in the beginning of this show even though it surpassed the storyline. As for older Wu Xie, since xiao ge decided to replace him in guarding the bronze gate he and fatty decided to stop going in another adventure because they already know the truth and there's no xiao ge that can help them in trouble, since then fatty decided to stay in Banai where his dead lover stayed (yes he fell in love in a girl which is a daughter of the one who acquired zhang's tattoo).
Actually Wu Lei created this story called daomu biji from his experiences (not in tomb raiding but the nature of wu xie and qiling), he is wu xie and his roommate as qiling. For this story, the "haunted house chronicles" novel influenced him. HHC is also a bromance story, the main pair's nature is the same as the pingxie. One is a damsel in distress and the other is mysterious, but sad to say there's only one translator of this story and he dropped it after chapter 10

I think qiling is terrified after he came back from the meteorite not because of what he saw in there. Qiling already witnessed what lies behind the bronze gate so nothing can frighten him anymore. In mystic nine, it discussed that the meteorite can give you what you desired the most (Er ye witnessed the power of the meteorite when it gave him the world with his wife named Ya tou in it, while Fo ye was given a chance to talk and be with his father). And so the meteorite gave Qiling what he desired the most.... His past. And because his amnesia attacked him that same moment even though his skill as a zhang didnt leave him his memories of being a trained and experienced tomb raider was gone and those evil things he faced as well. And so when he witnessed his past and everything he faced without knowing what are they and without realizing that he faced them all made him terrified.

P.S. This isnt discussed in the novel so this is only my theory. But I will only think this as a reason for it not until someone gives me a different possibilities about it

Actually zhang family have lots of marks which qiling used. In reunion he left 2 marks. First is the mark for execution (when Fatty hallucinated) and mark for danger. And xiao ge's mark here "ssae ge" I think it means follow (xiao ge put that mark the last time he came there cuz he knows that he will forget the way and he had an idea that he will come back there)

Wenjin stayed there cuz if she will leave the meteorite her body will turn into forbiden lady like how it happened to huo ling when she was injected by "it" when they're in golmud

Xie lianhuan is somehow related to sanxing. During their underwater expedition (20 years before the lost tomb event happened) together with Wen jing, qiling and other descendants of mystic nine. Lianhuan and sanxing had a fight when they sneak out from the team at night and went into underwater tomb not knowing that the spy sent by "it" followed them there. This spy was sent by it to kill sanxing and disguised as him, but he was killed instead in that tomb. And since then lianhuan disguised as sanxing while Wu xie's real 3rd uncle is moving in the dark. Xie lianhuan is jiuye's descendant

Yes. Actually they didnt discuss the "ultimate" or the secret behind the bronze gate. I think maybe its the end of all. Somehow its also like the truth that Wu xie saw in reunion when the liquid in golden coffin heal him. It can't explain thru words. But it is not an ultimate cuz what wu xie envision in the golden coffin is just the providence of south sea king and his kingdom

Yes the live adaptation that arent aired yet are heavenly palace (book 4) and tibetan sea flowers (1st sequel "zang haihua")

Side stories are already complete. They are only oneshot and short stories. Some were already translated but I don't think they will adapt them into series. As for chongqi the author leave it undone with 224 chapters and I dont think he will continue them (the last chapter was written 3 years ago and didn't continue it since then so I think he left the readers hanging)

Chongqi is the last novel that xu lei written. You can read his side story works too if you want. But some of his side stories didn't follow the proper dmbj timeline so if you'll read side stories you must not make dmbj's timeline as basis cuz it will just make you crazy lol

Ning's death made her brother despise Wu Xie so much thus chongqi novel or reunion/reboot (live adaptation) happened. And her dying made Wu xie realize that him being a descendant of mystic nine is not enough reason for him to go on being a tomb raider (he never wished to continue he hoped to end it after book 1 but because of his uncle he needs to continue if he wants to investigate). Ning and Panzi's death made him understand that he needs to be stronger and more knowledgeable if he wants to go further in his chosen fielf thus we saw the better, matured or new version of wu xie in tots and reunion

What do you mean about "weird manner"? Are you referring about releasing them not in order? If thats it, then the reason why cuz there are lots of directors of the live adaptation and so that's also the reason why the casts keep on changing

Well Ning died before Wu xie found Wen Jing. Actually she needs to die to make chongqi novel happen

Ultimate note skipped book 4 cuz someone already intends to produce that. They can't really put it in their storyline cuz it show disrespect to other director and producers (and bypass them)

Really? I dont really see any similarities between the pics of cast here and the one in the drama. Since the first time I watched the series I dont see any similarities from the some of them. In the cast list Joseph is somehow familiar and in the drama Wu Xie has a little bit resemblances from leo (but I know that it isnt leo). As for pangzi he is somehow different looking in the cast list. And glasses and yuning are nothing alike
