Reading this on Webtoon right now before they set it to Daily Pass on the 28th. Quite smart setting it to DP before the drama comes out. However I'll be finished reading before then 🤣

In the Japanese original the FL cheats on the ML with her best friend I think.. It's been a long time since I watched it.

I've only watched the first episode and I haven't rushed to watch the second 😅 I'll continue with it when I have lots of free time but for now I have other things to watch.

That's karma for you 😂 He wasn't a bad guy but he still used Yi Joo and wasted a year of he life giving her trauma. I don't think he deserved a life with Yoo ra but he deserved some sort of karma.

It's nice to read a review like this because it confirms that I'm not alone with my thoughts on this film. I've just been bombarded with "BEST MOVIE EVER", "Best movie of 2023"... Has 2023 really been that bad? LOL!!

I'm a huge fan of the novels, manga and anime so I know quite a bit about the story and going into this I expected better. If I went into this without any context I would have been a little lost and I wouldn't have known how to fill in the gaps. Everything just felt rushed. In my opinion the film would have benefitted greatly if the first film ended with the fire and the rescue. That way we would have seen what her life was like living with her family more, the feelings her childhood friend had, the plot between Kaya and Kouji's father. I probably would have felt more between the couple. As it stands I thought they had low chemistry and I also didn't like the actress that much...

Anyway I ended the movie with a sour taste in my mouth.

Unpopular opinion but for someone who loves the novels, Manga and anime this was... Lacklustre. The leads had zero chemistry and they cut down on a lot. This should have been a movie series. It's a 6/10 for me. The setting, costumes and music was good I guess.

In-between. Depends on how much you want to know. All I'm saying is I hope to god the writer steers away from the original and it's a possibility as the last adaptions from other countries I've watched steered away from the ending to create something different. I'm really hoping.

It's such a shame what became of this drama. I remember watching this while it was airing and I really thought it would be in my top 10. I stopped watching after the shift though :/

Can you make this a spoiler please. You've just spoiled it for me. I'm actually watching this anime with my partner (I was waiting for it to finish) and I've managed to avoid spoilers until now.

I'm highly suspecting that Gil Chae will be dragged in to be tortured in the last few episodes. It's leading to something and it's not pretty.

Whenever I see his Eunuch who is corrupt as they come I can't help but think of Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. He's by the king's side and the King Theoden is just losing the will to live and suspects everybody around him. I mean there's magic at play as the King is cursed. I wouldn't be surprised if the writer was watching Lord of the Rings when they thought of this plot line.

He likes men. Most importantly he likes/obsessed with Jang Hyun.

She's so boring. A proper snore fest whenever she's on the screen.

The man's been suspicious from the get go. I've just been waiting for the day he finally cracked. He is suffering from Schizophrenia or he's just been so distressed and poisoned emotionally over the last six years by his eunuch.
