It's not that he always dies or has a SE
Its just that his most popular dramas have a SE that's why ppl assume he always has a SE

For a show to go down in rating after it has finished airing is understable even while airing it can fluctuate a point or two up and down the initial rating but going down from 8.1~8. 2 to 7.6 when the drama hasn't even dropped 1/4 of its episode is mind boggling.
I don't know abt previous years but this year this drama and the journey of legend(didn't watch it but I checked rating from time to time)
Got such drop in ratings so early into their cycles.

If you are smart despite amnesia you maintain your smartness if you are a fighter you retain your fight skills or parts of it despite amnesia. I hate it when amnesia works as a relationship reset or when Fl/ML loss braincells along with memory

Amnesia makes sense when the character remains somewhat badass despite losing memory.
Amnesia becomes a test of viewer patience when the character losses braincells along with memory.

1.like you said he marries or has to marry ML sister so does she ever find out that he is a eunuch?
2.Does she know he likes FL or has feelings for her?
3.If she knows does she make things difficult for FL yk like the typical jealous type who make things hard for whoever is liked by their lover.
4.So who exactly is the big bad of this novel/story?
5.If the emperor knows he is a eunuch why did he let her daughter marry him in the first place?

1.Any love triangles??
I know drama may or may not stay true to novel but still just wanted to know if it is a typical love triangle where the loser turns villain.

Yunxi is mad cuz hanyan took her signature weapon with her(hairpin) and it meant she would go all out either the consort helps her or she tries to kill her
And if the consort had called for help it would be a big crime which would have implicated yunxi whole family cuz hanyan is her wife. So he was made at her cuz she risked his whole family for consort support.

The do clearly said he ain't 100% cure of poison which technically means he dies in future that's why the end showed him on the side of dead but let's imagine just like the poison took a long time getting him down which the help of partial antidote he lives long enough yk viewer imagination ✌️

FY standing on the side of dead in the end suggest he will die but luckily show left it for our imagination instead of showing his actual death ✌️

Just adding some of my thought
If we look at xiwen yuwen and hanyan dynamic
The one suffering was xiwen( fake disability due to father) who wanted to keep her in control.

So if we now look at the dynamic of FY hanyan and Ling zhi the one suffering is FY(illness which is also likely caused by father who wants to control/eliminate his enemy)

In both dynamics there are so many parallels and show has done a great deal to show these to us
And like you said in the analysis for the show to give a meaningful msg it would have to be a HE cuz if FY dies then it would feel like the parallels that show draw were a joke.
