That’s what I was thinking too and it’s so sad because she isn’t even her child so can you imagine your mom treating someone else’s kid better than her own smh it’s so sad I literally cried watching it . Wen Yi Fan Is so strong if you think about how much trauma, pain, suffering and abuse the people who should have been protecting her put her through! even when that man tried to rape her the mom still wouldn’t even woman up and protect her baby she literally cried and begged her and all that lady said was to suck it up!! I think we’re missing the point of the ending tbh. I don’t think there’s going to be a sequel the show is not the happy ending type . I personally think the reason for such an open ending is so us the watchers can make our own interpretation of what it takes to be on top . I think he was crying because in the end he had no one and that’s the sad part about having so much money and power to be on top you can’t just step on toes he was literally fighting for his life everyone he loved would ends up dead , betray him, use him or tried to kill him . Power comes with sacrifices and his fight to the throne made him end up alone and he finally got a moment to soak everything in . We rarely get season 2 of dramas tbh maybe 2 of 10 times so i personally wouldn’t mind watching if we do get it but I definitely doubt we’ll get it I believe it’s the end .

It’s such a different side of him I’m so used to him being the silly, funny and cute type . This is definitely a step up for him I’m sure it’ll lead him getting more great roles in the future he really deserves it we could tell how hard he worked . I love seeing actors play different roles and not just one set of characters.

No one watches a historical drama for all this political crap we watching for the romance, the heart thumping stuff, the smiles the kisses , the hugs, that’s why we watch it. I honestly feel like this is why this drama has failed so far to viewers it started out strong, but there comes a point where we gotta move forward so far all i’ve seen is people dying , people crying, people who you think died but come back and a male lead with a 1,000 secrets 😭 it just feels like it’s a chore to watch now I don’t wanna do it anymore. They got until episode 25 to get it together or I’m dropping. I hate when historical dramas get to political if I wanted to read politics, I would read a book.
