Yeah I feel like the show is heading in that direction (giving him a redemption) but I really don’t want it too >< he doesn’t deserve it in the slightest

i would be so uncomfortable around JJ at this point idk why GY keeps meeting with him (+_+) i understand that…
JJ is the worst character in the show and I mean that his character is badly written. His whole motivation for everything he does is what? Taking away the things that Hoo Joon wants? Yet he’s only ever succeeded in doing this once with Inhyung but he acts like he does it all the time.

Like this guy has a demanding job, he’s the boss of a company yet all he ever seems to do is wait around for Hoo Joon at his house so he can fuck with him, and follow Hoo Joon around wherever he goes so he can fuck with him XD it’s such a badly written backstory. He’s been so angry at this one person for years and years because of something that is seriously minimal. Just because Hoo Joon didn’t want to join the company his daddy bought him. I would understand more if it was because of Inhyung but it’s like she’s an afterthought and something he keeps around just to piss Hoo Joon off…

Sorry for my rant XD his character is just infuriating to me, I can’t help it ><

I agree with you on JJ . His character is kind of pitiful if you think about it
I don’t understand why In Hyung is still with him. There isn’t a single scene of them two being nice to each other, it’s just her lying to him and JJ yelling at her.

Like She is obviously a victim of mental abuse and manipulation by him, but they completely skirt the issue, and make it seem like they’re ‘just fighting’. Which really pisses me off, she should be reporting him to the police not just moving out of his house. He will obviously follow her. But worst of all, I felt like the show was heading towards those two making up in the end because he still ‘loves her’ and if they do, it will be the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in a drama I think.

I atleast know of one idol who used to even treat his fans to a meal and hangout with them, not in a creepy way…
Yeah, tbh I just don’t even try to understand the mind set of obsessive fans like that anymore. I just assume their mental health is deteriorating and they can’t really tell reality from the world they construct in their mind, where the only thing that matters is their bias.

Omg, don’t get me started on the over the top way they got Ma Ha out of that room XD she is literally a third of the size of his manager and it could not have been more obvious that it wasn’t him on Kwon Ryok’s back XD

Does that mean that only he falls for her, or does it mean the he ends up with her? It’s just, just because the budding romance is between them, doesn’t mean that Soo Hyun doesn’t have feelings for her? I’m not trying to prove you wrong, I’m just speculating, as you say XD

Can you please tell me where you saw the chart? Please? ^^

I’m sorry I still don’t see what the problem is with making those 3 fans angry… they are literally harassing him and breaking the law ><

Look I get it’s a drama, of course there’s going to be plot devices used that make no sense XD but, what I really hate is when lazy plot devices are used. And using those 3 fans over and over again to cause trouble, is lazy. And so many people keep saying that this show is so realistic and portraying the idol industry well, so tbh I was expecting more from it.

Anyway, your definitely right about the hotel though! I didn’t even think about that, but the staff shouldn’t let random people roam the hallways for hours, especially when they have high profile guests.

Yeah no I got that >< that part was pretty obvious. My point is that it didn’t make sense for me to end it that way and I think it would have been better not to.

It’s a difference of opinion man, also saying that someone didn’t understand something just because you don’t agree or you yourself don’t actually understand what they were talking about is just… ugh…

I dropped this drama for a while then just came back to it because I’ve seen so many ppl say it’s getting better.

But I guess I should have trusted my first impression of it because it’s only getting worse for me ><

The FL continuously gets more and more stupid, she gets into over the top situations for the sake of the plot that are mostly just lazy ass writing. She cannot do anything and I mean anything without the ML doing it for her. She can’t even call the police when an obviously crazy teenager breaks into the house. Like her stupidity has no bounds man. It’s seriously worrying that someone wrote this character and thought to themselves ‘yes this kind of person with this personality should be a main character’

I also really don’t like characters like her old boss. You know, you get at least one in every single drama. It’s the person who treats the lead like complete trash, who eventually always get their comeuppance, so that when they are finally put in their place we can all cheer! This kind of lazy ass villain, with no actual importance to the plot, who is only there so the audience can hate them and rage whenever they talk down to the lead is the worst thing about drama plots. It’s an easy way to put conflict and resolution into a story that doesn’t actually have any kind of meaningful result, the lead gets nothing from this, they don’t grow or mature or change and if it’s a female lead, it’s always the male lead who puts this kind of villain in their place. Like the female can’t actually do it herself of course, she needs to be saved by the male.

And JJ as an antagonist for Who Joon is just boring. I don’t even understand why Joon would have been friends with the kind of person that hates you for the rest of your life and tries to destroy your career because you didn’t wanna join the company his daddy bought for him. That kind of spite for that one thing is pretty ridiculous and over the top. But he’s the bad guy and Joon is the ML, so of course Joon can’t actually have done something bad, he needs to be perfect >< it’s just, so boring.

Anyway, pls don’t get offended if you like this drama, ppl just have different opinions about the same thing, that’s just life you know, and if you like this drama that’s fine I don’t care XD you do you

Is the show going be bl?
It is romance but it’s straight, in this the two MLs become best friends friends and they both fall for the same girl.

This is what I have read in like quiet a few places online about this. I can’t confirm it, but the synopsis on viki says pretty much the same thing so I guess it’s true.

This drama is much better when the other characters are in the scene as well, it gets pretty repetitive with just the main couple and god, they kinda go around in circles discussing the same philosophical points. Personally I’m not confused by the shows vague yet heavy leaning on metaphysical conversation between those three, I think if you are but want to keep watching there’s a bunch of blogs explaining in detail what’s going on.

I do think that the repetition makes it kinda boring to watch these 3 characters while the second they include a different character in the scene I find myself very interested again.

But the worst thing about this drama, is that it’s kind of just ok. I don’t really have anything to say about it except that one point. The acting is fine I guess, nothing amazing, the b, c etc plots are fine. Just everything about is fine. And tbh, when someone says to me that my work is just fine, it’s the worst thing they could say about it. It would be better if they hated it with their whole being. But, just fine… making something that’s mediocre well, that’s just soul crushing.

But these fans are usually the ones spending the most money on the artist. I wouldn't be surprised if the company…
I somehow doubt three fans are spending enough money to be considered an ‘income’ for a band + it’s staff. That’s literally millions a year, idol bands do not make all of their money of fans buying cds and merch. Why do you think all of them have brand deals, sponsorships, acting and modelling gigs as well? >< tbh I don’t really understand how you could think that a few fans are spending enough money, for their contribution alone to be considered a ‘stable inconme’ for a band and the other 50+ people who work for them… also keeping these idols who make all this money safe and happy with their working conditions is probably a better bet. Most fans do not believe rumours without some kind of proof, it’s not exactly easy to just start a rumour without a basis for this rumour.

but they're not just stalkers, they're the president of their biggest fanclub, idols are victims of their fans…
I know all this and I didn’t say that fans being obsessive wasn’t realistic, I said that a huge idol group like shaxx having no bodyguards is not realistic, and it’s also very unrealistic for his manager to just allow the fans to stay there without calling the police on them. I’m sorry if you misunderstood or didn’t read properly >< but yeah, I didn’t actually say that fans doing this isn’t realistic in my comment at all, I think I was specific about the bodyguards and police.

Also, I didn’t think that being the president of a fan club gave you the right to harass someone like this? I’m pretty sure that idols companies tend to sue fans if they do things like this, even if they are paying members of a fan club.

Sorry XD I was trying to explain it clearly but I guess I didn’t. But yeah you know when she and the big Hyoek first meet and spend the night together she’s upset and starts crying because he changed the light? It’s because she’s been fighting with the fit Hyuk and asked him to change the light but he keeps forgetting.

The way they allow the members of Shaxx to get so close to their hardcore fans without any bodyguards present is so fucking ridiculous I don’t know wether it’s funny or just stupid. In that last episode where those 3 come up to the hotel and right up to his fucking door and no one throws them out, is just… like I have no words for how lazy this plot device is. They stay there all night! Literally stalking and harassing this poor guy and no one does a fucking thing? Apparently security or the police don’t exist in this universe? And stalking must be legal as well. I get there was some reason needed for this whole scandal of them being in the same room etc, but to use this as a means is just so lazy, I don’t even need to watch the show to know that those three fans will literally be the reason for all of their relationships problems.

I was just starting to enjoy this show and it was just kind of almost trying to be realistic, then that shit happens.

You might be right because she said the luggage is heavy and asked the fat boy to carry it. Anyway, she would…
I think that’s kind of the whole point, this movie is trying to be realistic not overly romanticised like kdramas usually are. It’s just being real. Real people do not make grand gestures and act like the perfect guy of your dreams who will always be there for you. Real people fuck up and they don’t make it on time to get you back, and they also move on if you just leave them, just like she did. Anyway, I wouldn’t call him disappointing, he just happens to be a realistic male lead… he didn’t cheat on her, and he tried to get back with her. Imagine that was you as a real person. Most people would go back to the person they were seeing if this happened to them, they wouldn’t want to end up alone it’s easier to move on if someone is with you. So yeah, it might look like a shitty thing to do, but him going back to Bo Young and asking her to stay makes sense. He’s just found out the girl he really loved moved on already and wouldn’t even acknowledge him. That shit hurts.

I didn’t love this movie, it was ok, ive seen better realistic romances. But I do appreciate that Korean media is trying to steer away from the trope of the perfect male/female lead and instead portray them as just people.

I mean, I still love the old tropes but it’s good to have variety.

God I hate this drama more and more the further I get into it. Joo won is just such a terrible human being and Gil Ra Im is so far from a strong woman character that it’s fucking pathetic. He keeps getting pissed at her for ‘never thinking about him’ and the dumbass bitch actually apologises it blows my fucking mind, she’s constantly saying she doesn’t want anything to do with him, but the second he calls she drops everything and runs to wherever he is. It’s so fucking sad, I guess Korean guys get of on this idea of a tough girl but not actually coz she still has to do everything the man tells her to do with no questions asked. Joo Won keeps showing up at her work, which she takes very seriously and has trained very hard for, and he keeps getting in her way, fucking up shoots for her, ruining her chance of getting stunt roles and just generally disregarding the fact that she needs this job to live. Yet he decides that he will dump her after he gets tired of her, but apparently doesn’t give a shit if she’ll have a job after to support herself. And she does nothing to even try to stop him from ruining her reputation at work and her relationships with colleagues and her boss. Who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to show 30 straight seconds of Gil ra im’s foot every time she gets a compliment or feels flustered?? We fucking get it alright? There’s no fucking need to show me half a minute of her tapping her fucking foot. XD Also do they like keep switching bodies again after the first time? Coz usually a body switch sort of ends when both ppl have started to understand the others point of view, but in this show XD they switch back without either of them having learned anything. Also they switch back for no apparent reason. If I have to hear Joo Woon tell someone about how expensive his outfit is again my ears will fucking bleed. If you seriously believe that a person with his personality can suddenly change because of ‘true love’ I don’t know what to tell you, I doubt you’ll listen to me anyway. Also this whole angle of a guy falling for a girl who ignores him, doesn’t know who he is, isn’t interested in his money etc is so played out and old, it’s disappointing that it’s still being used to this day. It’s also the reason that ‘I’m not like other girls’ became a thing. I don’t fucking get it, this is some fucked wish fulfilment plot shit going on here. I’m seriously fucking happy that dramas have started to steer away from these fucked up rich asshole characters and the B plot of the family fighting over the inheritance kind of shit like it’s just seriously pathetic watching this. It’s about as good as days of our lives and passions rolled into one and regurgitated into some kind of disgusting mess. And the quality of cinematography is probably better in those too. Like I just have no words for how fucking sad this show is and I seriously think it should be fucking wiped out of human history, I’m fucking EMBARRASSED to be part of a race that produced this fucking mess.

Look I’m sorry for my rant, this drama just got to me so bad I needed to vent my anger at it somewhere. I guess it’s kinda obvious but I dropped this show after the 13th episode, it’s just got too painful and annoying, and I was pissed of at it all day long, even after I’d stop watching for the day it continued to piss me off.

I guess this kind of movie is maybe new in Korea? Is it? I haven’t seen anything with this kind of realistic relationship from there before, but obviously I haven’t seen everything. But I guess it’s an old topic for westerners, like it was cute, but I’ve seen much better movies than this that tackle this kind of topic (500 days of summer etc)

Also just a side note XD it’s really hard to see them literally working all night etc. That’s illegal here, like my office has to be empty and shut by 8 pm, which means even if you stayed late you’d be there for an extra 2 hours at most. Obviously we can work at home if we’re really late on assignments, but honestly I barely do that unless I’m working on something that I’m enjoying so much it’s hard to stop. Anyway, it’s just painful watching them work so hard for very little reward.
