Yeah I got the part about thinking Hoo joon is gay, but that kinda makes it even worse. Assuming someone’s sexuality because he’s comfortable touching his male friends is off the charts wrong >< it’s the kind of stigma that’s made men become homophobic before they even knew they were.

I get your point, they obviously had some idea as to why he was gay, which I should be happy with because I honestly thought it had no impact on the rest of the show. But is it a good plot point? Definitely not for me.

XD oh man you made me chuckle at that. They definitely love to queerbait don’t they. I didn’t drop the show or anything I’m not that sensitive, it just annoyed me so I came to vent here. The show itself is like ok I guess, I don’t hate it but it gets a bit boring at times. Like they didn’t really know what to do with the plot but the idea was to good to give up on.

The whole reality tv show part feels really undeveloped to me. I’m still gunna keep watching it though XD it might get way better who knows.

Yeah for a second I thought it was too until he ran after her and gave her that excuse. Also, what was the point of making him gay? He could have been cheating with a girl. Him being gay has not impact on the show except to say that gay men hurt women by dating them just to see if they can love them?

I don’t know how I feel about the portrayal of her gay boyfriend, I realise this is Korean and that it was made a few years ago. But honestly I just don’t like seeing gay men represented as being assholes for dating women when they know their gay, and even worse is the excuse of wanting to know if he can love a woman? Like we’re not living in the 50’s >< there has to be some awareness of what these ppl are putting on screen.

XD they were just so bad I’m like dreading them coming back and scaring the fuck out of me with those atrocious matching candy land outfits again.

I read this again and it sounded… I don’t know it didn’t sound the way I meant it XD I really have nothing against you wanting to be positive about everything, you do you, I’ll do me. And the level of smart ass in the comment made me laugh.

I haven’t read the manhwa, so it’s a completely different experience for me. I’m not going to drop the show just because I didn’t love the first episode, I want this show to be good, I’ve been waiting for it for a long time.

XD MaHa is like the only character I kind of enjoyed in that first episode. But Omega 3 >< was painful I really hope that isn’t brought back.

Also, a drama based on a webtoon really has to work hard because as an audience or watcher I should be able to enjoy it without reading the manhwa. If I need to read the manhwa to enjoy the show then it’s failing at being a show for me.

I see someone else already made my point, but I’ll just reinforce it for you. This website isn’t here just so people can comment how amazing a show is, it’s here to express opinions no matter how many episodes have been aired.

You say that we should look at everything in a positive way, which in itself is a childish thing to say. Tv shows and movies should be looked at in an objective way, you as an individual should make your own decisions about it and not be influenced by my comment (or get annoyed by it), and I can judge the first episode of a show in any way I please. I could never understand why ppl like you think it’s a good idea to not give dramas criticism. If you had been involved with this drama, if your work was in it, would you prefer someone looking at it objectively and giving you their real opinion? Or would you prefer them sugarcoating it and just saying ‘it’s fine’ ? Wouldn’t you want to know what ppl actually think about it? Or you prefer to stay in your bubble?

Every time I leave a comment like this, I get another 10 from ppl like you who are so outraged it’s almost funny. I’m not judging this show, I’m going to keep watching this show and I’ll comment after every single episode if I want to, or I might not, I might drop it, the point is there’s no need for you to defend the show. If ppl are influenced by my comment without actually watching the show for themselves and making up their own minds, that’s their loss.

I really think that hyped myself up too much for it XD and like I’ll probably get over it after a few episodes and still like it anyway.

I’ll probably wait until the show is done and then read the manhwa just so I don’t spoil it for myself. I’m sure the manhwa plot will be way more involved then the show so that way I’ll still be reading parts that I didn’t see in the show, if that makes sense. And you know I still think this show is better than the other idol dramas I’ve watched even just this first episode. The last one I watched was Dream high which is kind of an idol drama I guess, anyway this one is definitely better than it was.

I’m not trying to judge the whole show, I’m definitely not going to drop it after one episode, but that first episode by itself just wasn’t good for me. I’ve never read this manhwa it’s been on my list forever because I’ve been told it’s good, but I wasn’t a fan of the art so I left it on the list to get around to it sometime XD again I wouldn’t not read a good manhwa just because I don’t like the art style I can get over that easily if the story is good. You say the first episode was character intros, maybe it’s just me but there was no actual introducing going on… all they did was give us names and the fact that these ppl are idols or want to be idols, only the epilogue showed us anything else. No background on any of them and no personality traits past, he’s a hard worker and so is she…

I’m really not trying to hate on this show, or on your opinion of it, I’m just expressing my own opinion. That’s why I use this site, to have conversations about the shows I like and don’t ^^

I mean I’m glad you think so, I want this show to be good, I’ve been waiting for it all year. I guess my expectations were just so high that I fucked myself and now nothing will b good enough…

Man I had such high hopes for this drama. There’s like no good Idol dramas honestly, and I was like 100 sure this one was going to be great… then I watched that first episode ><

The acting is not it man. I get they’re all idols but it’s pretty bad. The actual production doesn’t appear to have enough money to pay extras? Hence that painful award ceremony with like 10 people in attendance >< the plot is all over the place in that episode. Having a 3 year time skip in the first episode is a weird thing to do. They could have used flash backs instead to show us what happened probably would have worked better.

Why did Omega 3 look like an offshoot of AKB48? And also sound and dance like them?

Why has the ml barely said 2 lines of dialogue?
I’m seriously sorry but Jun Young apparently only has 2 expressions as an actor and those are bored or annoyed…
Oh and I’m surprised that none of these idols can lip sync coz they all look like their just moving their mouth up and down when they’re performing

Yeah if I had watched it in 2011 I would have loved every second of this show XD. I was a lot more hopeful back then, not so jaded and annoyed by literally everything…

XD I’m literally half way through the first ep of imitation right now. And like… it’s ok I guess. The quality of production on it is kind of bad tbh, like I thought it would be much better quality. They seem to hardly have enough money for extras, that awards ceremony scene was painful to watch because it was obvious that there was literally like 10 people in that room… I’m gunna keep watching it and hope the plot is good at least.

Sorry I just saw your comment, there is a lot of stuff they do wrong concerning military protocol XD but that I could deal with, it’s obviously used to further the plot which is annoying sure, but this drama is fun enough to let it go. The reason I got really annoyed with the landmine is because it’s a constant trope in all movies and tv shows. Every time someone steps on a landmine in any movie or show they somehow don’t blow up immediately.

Ah man thanks it was really getting to me, I kept rewatching the scene and like I was so sure it was him, his smile is hard to forget. (And when he said he was top I was kinda like, I’m sure it’s him)

Ok I have to give it to this show for originality of concept, a show about a serial killer who gets a brain transplant and suddenly develops feelings is pretty high up there on plots I’ve never seen before in any movie or show.

The execution though... I mean, you can’t just film stuff so it looks like Be Reum is helping and then retcon it and be like ‘ah actually this shit never happened he was just killing everyone’
Like wtf XD like with Bong Yin’s grandma! I mean we got a lengthy scene of Ba Reum stopping and chasing the killer??

Look honestly i don’t really believe it was Ba Reum, I won’t until the last episode mainly because of this show’s tendency to contradict itself hard.

My motivation for leaving this comment is the conversation I saw further down in the section. It’s a younger viewer who says he/she is gay and who goes on an absolute rant about the issues in this show, now that alone I would probably have ignored. But her/his treatment of the people replying to her made it obvious that she/he was doing it because her/his moral outrage made her/him feel better than them. They made quiet obvious.

I have nothing against ppl expressing their opinion, I do have something against ppl shitting on anyone who disagrees with them. This comment section is hardly here for ppl to go on rants about their real life issues, it’s here to discuss the show.

And if everyone else is allowed to voice their opinion without backlash, why am I not allowed? My opinion is just as valuable, I don’t think ppl should use this section to complain about these issues because it makes the ppl who enjoy this show feel pretty bad. There are forums, subs and communities dedicated to discussing these issues, where you can interact with like minded ppl instead of doing it here.

Size and strength doesn’t really matter though XD as you pointed out, drugging somebody is easy enough and there are plenty of drugs that actually heighten anyone’s sex drive rather than impair them like alcohol can, I mean there’s drugs out there that would make ppl beg for sex when they would never do that if they were sober.
