My problem is that this show is kinda disgusting in its portrayal of soldiers that ARENT South Korean, like their all assholes except the Koreans >_< I’m not American but even I think it’s fucking offensive to portray ppl who are risking their life’s in their job this way just for dramatic effect.

Also the idea that female doctors are fucking having a bitch war while in the fucking operating room is gross.

There’s a lot of gross shit in this drama guys, why does everyone love it so much? I hope it stops, otherwise I won’t get far into it.

I don’t know how I feel about this adaption tbh. The webtoon is so different it’s hard not to get annoyed and it’s hard to get the same feeling from the drama.

In Hwan is a great actor but I don’t like him in this role at all. Not because he’s not portraying the character well, but because the actual character is so different from the character in the webtoon. I don’t usually care much about adaptions being true to source material. Books and movies or manhwa, comics etc, their too different in their basic principles to be comparable. A movie or show shouldn’t try to copy exactly but interpret the feeling right?

But I’m not getting that in this interpretation.

There’s a general feeling of hope in the webtoon because Deok Chul’s character actually has a slight chance of getting onto the stage. While in the drama there’s literally zero chance of that happening.

But, the thing that annoys me the most the thing that’s completely unnecessary, is the romantic angle on Chae Rok and Eun Ho. I just can’t possibly imagine why they thought this angle would be a good idea? This part stops me from getting into this show the most. Its like they can’t tell a beautiful story without pushing two characters together for no fucking reason. I hope they don’t actually end up together at least then I probably won’t completely hate this show.

Omg don’t you hate it when someone gets shot in a movie or show and everyone just stands around crying? Like why is no one calling an ambulance? Why is no jumping into the car that’s literally right next to them and driving to a hospital? Like humans don’t die that quickly, unless it’s a head shot, and even then there’s a chance. You don’t just get shot in the stomach and die like a minute later...

It’s pretty obvious that Ki Wan will end up with Ho Sun. There are like a billion clues.
Really? I kinda think he’ll end up with Tae Hyung

Shin Ha Kyun is a great actor and he sure was captivating in BE. He is getting better as time goes by. However…
I mean it was a movie, there’s no reasonable way to compare a movie and a tv show. One is two hours while the other is closer to 20. There’s going to be more character development in a show always. I was only relaying my experience at having seen him in sympathy a long time ago and seeing him in this now. And the change is still obvious and huge comparatively to me. ^^

Ha Kyun carried this drama. I’m not trying to minimise the other actors ability, I think everyone did a great job. But Ha Kyun is just fucking captivating, any scene he’s in in this drama I can barely focus on anyone else. I mean in Sympathy back when he was much younger, he was fine, I kind of barely remember him, he didn’t make that much of an impression even though he was a main character. But fuck me I guess time makes masters of their craft after all.

You really think that Vincenzo is original in its set up and execution? Really?

Also, Taxi driver has 2 episodes out so I don’t really understand how your comparing the integration of actors, comedy and action. That’s like comparing it to a movie. 2 hours is nothing compared to the 20 hours that Vincenzo has >_< you kind of have no idea how taxi driver will handle all those things. The only thing we do know is that they don’t kill.

And in my opinion killing someone is a mercy, so I’m sorry but I still think Taxi driver does it better.

Vincenzo follows a formula that’s become tired at this point. It’s a constant back and forth between the two main forces. They either try to kill each other, set each other up or get each other arrested. That’s literally been happening again and again since the 2nd episode.

Also, can I point out that Vin and Cha Young are hardly involved in destroying anyone XD because they still haven’t even managed to do anything significant in any way. While the Taxi driver crew already has two ppl rotting away in a dungeon...

The childhood meeting trope annoys a lot of non Korean ppl that watch their dramas. I get it XD but there is a reason as to why they do it, it’s connected to their religious belief of destiny, look it up it’s actually really interesting.

XD thank god it was, I’m sorry I thought you were losing it tbh XD I can’t imagine why they would have listed is as that, this is meant to be all historical from what I know, but there’s not much info on it yet so you never know I guess. I only saw the page for it on here today, and I honestly thought you were losing it XD I’m sorry, I really am

XD how are they English names? Just because when you sound it out they sound like English names means nothing, because their not pronounced that way in Korean and why are you pronouncing Taec’s characters name including his last name as Ryan? While not using the Kim in Hye’s characters name? Anyway sorry I’m not being mean here I swear I just think it’s funny

I think ppl take my comments to seriously XD Dramas only go through one season like 80% of the time, it’s the perfect amount of a tv show. Western shows tend to drag shit out and usually become terrible after a few seasons. So when I say something like this I’m just joking. But for some reason ppl get offended XD you should watch Taxi Driver it’s actually great, tbh I like the setup in it much better than Vincenzo

XD umm yes he could have very easily killed them. Sure. But that in no way actually get rids of Babel. It just means he killed Han Seok. Also there’s not much satisfaction in just killing for him that’s made clear too. He wants to destroy Babel. That’s the whole point.

Now in my opinion he would get much more satisfaction out of keeping these guys in a prison run by a loan shark for the rest of their lives.

Look I just think that Taxi Driver handles the semantics of revenge much better than Vincenzo does. It’s much more satisfying.

I feel like the crew from Taxi Driver could have dealt with Babel in like 4 episodes

Also the thing about the prosecutor switching sides was pretty obvious if not before then the second they all gathered to watch. The feeling is pretty obvious.

Land mines explode the second you step onto them, not the second you step off them.

I don't think it was romantic. She replaced his sister and him her uncle
I guess that’s up to interpretation.

Tbh I think any relationship between them is forced. They knew each other for a week, and spend barely any of that time together. It’s not that easy for humans to bond. And it even harder for them to understand each other. I think the idea that these somehow developed a bond over a few conversations and a 2 meals is mostly stupid and not in any way deep or meaningful.

Many people are angry on the ML for his jerky behaviour, yes he is a jerk. But hear me out once. Divorce for a…
Do you know how many ppl have parents who got divorced when they were young? Let me give you a hint, it a fucking lot. A lot more than you expect it to be. I don’t have one friend who’s parents aren’t divorced. And I have exactly zero friends who claim any sort of trauma from their parents divorce.

If you hit the age of 20 something and still think that your parents are meant to somehow be more than normal humans, then sure claim your trauma and live with it.

But if like most of the population you realise that your parents are just people and that it’s cruel to expect them to stay together in a marriage that isn’t working... well you get the point I think.

If grown ass adults are going around feeling ‘abandoned’ by the divorce of their parents, they are narcissists.

Pls don’t hit me with the ‘it affects everyone differently’ because it doesn’t. That’s a lame ass saying with no basis whatsoever.

You can’t get away with blaming your shitty behaviour on your parents your whole life.

My parents did things that were much, much worse than get divorced to me. And I don’t try to push any of my failures onto the past.

This could have been good, except for the out of place romantic drama tropes shoved into it.
There’s a way to make a movie about organised crime syndicates killing each other in a war that has two ppl in it that fall in love, sure there is, but this isn’t it. Everything about Tae and Jae Yun is forced. His sister was apparently terminally ill but when he sees Jea yun having an attack he’s shocked and out of his depth.
The obvious parralels between Jae yun’s family being killed by gangsters and his family suffering the same fate is so on the nose it’s just lazy writing. It’s not deep, it’s just fucking lazy. The scene at the beach? Where these two are smoking instead of chasing each other liked you’d see in a drama is just as bad. Like is it really any different just because their staring into nothing and smoking a cigarette? They may as well be chasing each other drunkenly because the outcome is the same.

I could go on but I’ll just stop.

Also I have a random question but why is Tae’s boss such a fucking weak ass coward?? Have you ever heard of the boss of any gang no matter the size being a total coward? And his gang isn’t exactly small, how do you earn enough respect to have so many men give you their loyalty, but he acts like a fucking rat?

XD now this show is turning into Dexter?
This is just turning into a fucking circus, I mean it did the moment brain transplant was involved.

The cops should have been able to tell that someone had cleaned the crime scene after Ba Reums first murder, it’s very hard to get rid of blood completely.

I’m still enjoying this show, even though there’s a bunch of stuff I find annoying about it.
