There you are, minding your own business, and this person who's been trying their darndest to make things difficult for you invites themselves into your house, goes through your drawers, singles out the condoms she finds, then proceeds to grill you about you not using them. Like..imagine the audacity. I dunno how realistic for the time period this is, especially with Feng Lin being nobody, but man..I personally wouldn't have lasted long because I woulda slapped a b*tch back into the prehistoric ages.

Ok but wait..I also really love Yu Zhi's dad because tell me why he's so hilarious. He's like "A young man could use some life experience so what if he went on this dangerous mission in enemy territory? He has Zhao there and a book on how to win a lady and you never know ..what if it brings them closer 👉👈"

Hopefully not, but it would make for an interesting character. Being duplicitous enough to go along with her for his cure, then turn around and betray her to the sect master. Especially since he's the SML and we already now he has some type of feelings towards her.

We'll have to wait and see :D

Lol I kinda love Yu Zhi. FL thinking she's being oh so sneaky and stealthy. Meanwhile Yu Zhi listing off her entire plan and everything she's keeping hidden with as much dignity as he can muster.

In Love Behind the Melody? It's the slow, simmering type. They match each other's wits and it's so cool to see them both working together or, at times, against each other. They have a mature relationship, there's no misunderstandings - no big one, anyways.

But it's not heavy on romance overall as the focus is primarily on the FL going back home because it's a transmigration story.

If you like her acting and character here, definitely check out Love Behind the Melody. I think she plays a similar character there; less powers, but same intelligence and wit.

I don't have words for how hateful I find what's her face, can't even remember her name, the kiss ass assistant. Gah, she's horribly irritating and I'm actively rooting for ML's memories to come back just so she can get her comeuppance.

Brilliant show, but you definitely had to be all there. Don't blink, don't breathe or you might miss a huge revelation :))

When all else fails, I go by costume haha. "Oh, so dude in orange robe is the head of the sect", "dude in blue with green sash is so and so" because I feel like they change secondary and tertiary character's costumes much less than mains.

Last show I watched where I needed three 3rd party apps, a character & relationship sheet and a little notebook for jotting down notes has been Dark on Netflix haha. Hasn't happened yet with a Cdrama, but I haven't watched Sword into Plowshares either.

I was specifically thinking of when FL addresses ML by his name when sparring. But Akrr was right, he introduces himself from under the umbrella, before she sees his face. I just..had a brain fart and completely missed the line. And since I've been confused about the ungodly number of characters from the start, I thought it was a case of dubious editing once again.
But nope, it was me. Mea culpa.

I again feel like I missed something. She figures out he's a demon from context and his knowledge, but then she knows exactly who he is..?

If the assumptions of them having to cut 3 episodes worth of stuff and doing it from these first 5 ones is correct..then maybe the rest will be fine.

After having watched more episodes, I tend to agree with everyone saying the editing is not great. For someone who hasn't read the novel and has no idea about the world building, characters and story, this is super confusing.

I'm along for the ride because pretty & shiny, but I have no idea who people are half the time, there's more names mentioned than in a Dostoevsky novel and very little context. The problem with this is that it also leads to me usually having no idea who is X in relation to Y. Are Ling Bo and her fiance cousins, childhood friends, some other type of relative, nothing? lol

I also can't for the life of me tell what the timeline is here. FL came to the sect and..how much time has passed? She hasn't trained a single time and a character mentions she's been here a couple of days. Which doesn't make sense because ML is all upsetty at her having a fiance or the prospect of her marriage. Question is why. And why is she so gung ho and attached to him that she keeps vouching to protect him, not that that man needs it.

Side note: I find it hilarious that she was so distrustful of him when he was playing nice for appearances and trying to subtly manipulate her - which she clocked - and now she trusts him completely when it's been revealed he isn't who he says he is.

Makes sense overall, but she seemed very on edge after checking his pulse only. His continuous deception and manipulation and the rest of the reasons came after.

I keep reading about how they cut around 3 episodes worth of scenes so maybe that's why her suspicion, her reasoning didn't translate so well for me. At least, I hope that's it and it's not poorly done foreshadowing for his character because that'll be a tad disappointing -- referring specifically to the pool scene here.

Initial thoughts:

- This drama is gorgeous looking. Loving all the colors and the saturation. Beautiful intro scene for the ML, too.
- I haven't read the novel so I have literally no idea why FL is initially so uber duper suspicious of the ML. Not that she's wrong lol, but ..why? Did I miss something?
- I love the leads, but especially FL. Have been a fan of Bao Shang En since Love Behind the Melody where she plays a similarly independent and capable role. Smart, strong FL are cool <3 more of those, please.
- I'm digging the dynamic between FL and Ling Bo lol. Petty bully just wants attention and FL's all like "yeah, naw fam, ain't got the time, go play alone"

If she keeps shoving carrots down his throat, our Mu Yang will turn orange before he gets his memories back :))
