The historical element from the webtoon is also really light and kinda silly (the ancestors that get cursed are children and it involves a dog, hence why such a silly curse), and it's really only revealed at the end, so it doesn't derail the story.
The choices the drama made are baffling.

The writers need to try to make the story angstier and darker is dragging the show down.

Actually, they changed really key elements from the webtoon and tried to make the story way more dramatic, and that's why it's falling so flat.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense because it's completely different form what happened in the webtoon.
This mess is what happens when they try to make the ML cooler and angstier and the FL ditzier.

The problem is that none of that happens in the webtoon.
Some of the changes are baffling.
The drama added really weird stuff in and made a mess of the whole story.
That's what happens when drama writers don't really understand an original work and try to make it cooler.

This argument is very circular and does not answer any of the raised points on the differences.
Also 'family tastes' is just code for being Conservative and close minded, apparently.

It seems like this person is hell bent on policing what others think about a work of art and deems all criticism bad.
The fact that people get swayed by what others are criticising about the drama means they have critical thinking skills that are getting activated and making them evaluate what they see.
How this is construed as a negative is beyond me.

I love how they expanded the role of the female director of the hotel from the webtoon and made her into a jealous, hateful bad woman who suddenly was the main reason for what the uncle did. Kdrama sure loves their evil women.

Never forget girls, no matter how bad the men are, there's always a woman that's worse because, well, women be evil, I guess.

The webtoon went with a 'you make your own fate and choose who you love ' theme and subverted a lot of reincarnation tropes and love story cliches, whereas the drama is just reinforcing all the clichés and changing the message of the piece.
There's also gender bending with one character that they're changing here because apparently you can't have that on TV lol
They're apparently doing the same to this author's other adaptation, A Good Day to be a Dog.

It is somewhat of a plot hole, but they imply in the drama that her memories came a little bit before meeting seo ha, so she maybe didn't have time.

It makes no sense, they completely changed the central theme of the webtoon lmao

Yep. I mean, in the webtoon Min Gi didn't even have as many lives as Ji Eum, hence why he was pushing so much for her to break the reincarnation cycle, he thought it was too much for one single person. And now all of a sudden he's older than her? Ha.
And with those flashbacks seems they won't give Ha Do Yun the same plotline, which means also no gender bending.
It's like they're removing all the points that made these webtoons interesting to begin with, including the whole Ji Eum and Seoha were not fated, but chose each other.
It's sad, because it's the same author and she seems pretty interested in these specific themes.

That's a plot point in the webtoon, her dissociation from her trauma.
