Sombra

Ya, after going through 40 episodes. Though I had to fast forward or recap some eps because of how tedious the series felt at times. The series still left me feeling disappointed especially when compared to fighter break sphere or other recent series like ashes of love/legend of fuyao. Atleast Ling Dong has matured and the ending was interesting. Season 2 looks to be better atleast. Although I felt season 1 was mostly a waste of time.

I dropped it a few episodes a long while back. The show was boring, subpar acting, and I couldn’t continue watching after 5 or 6 episodes. I’m not even sure why they decided to make such a subpar sequel. It couldn’t live up to its predecessor and even when judging the show on its own merits, it suffers from mediocrity. The overall rating is too high for this show. An overall waste of time.

The show is quite different in some aspects compared to the novel. It does tell a coherent story with likable characters unlike Martial Universe though. Overall I’m enjoying the show.

I’ve watch up to episode 16. The story feels jumbled up or incoherent in some parts. Certain scenes don’t explain things well. Ling Dong is very childish and the way he acts is also a bit irritating. I don’t hate his character, but he does act like an idiot most of the time. Huan Huan was irritating at first, but has surprisingly grown on me overtime. She goes to great lengths to help Ling Dong. Qing Zhu is an alright character. I’m rather neutral towards her. Overall, I find this series disappointing. I also didn’t read the novel either so my impressions are just based on the show.
