Fun and wholesome adaptation, carried by 'Hengney'
For me, as a big Ossan's Love (Returns) fan, this is an unexpectedly good adaptation of the Japanese BL in many ways. I think this is a hard show to adapt because unlike shows like Cherry Magic, the humor is just so Japanese (which I think is part of the reason it never got that popular outside of Japan compared to other JBLs). But I'm glad that I gave it a chance. It's funny, it has heart, and...The characters and performances are great. Earth is wonderful as Heng - funny, annoying, charming, with a surprising amount of depth; truly a loser trapped in a hot man’s body brought to life. Shahkrit as the Boss is a total fox and so naturally funny, sincere and obnoxious as heck. Kapook, Meow, etc. are adorable and sympathetic. Truly everyone, from the supporting characters up are endearing and fun. So despite my issues with the ending (Mo and Boss-induced irritation), it was a fun watch. Commit to the show’s zaniness and enjoy the charm & sweetness!
