I don't care for the second couple, either, especially her. I also thought at first that he might be gay, not that there's anything wrong with that. She is really weird and insecure, though.

I do see a romantic bond between the main couple, but life keeps getting in the way. They have a good foundation to build on, though, in my opinion.

Yes, the LBL fans' love for that loser in the blue suit was so bad and so wrong, but we had fun tearing him down, right? I hate SMLs with a passion if they are going after the FL and especially if they're like the guy in LBL. At least in NES we didn't see him for an overly excessive about of time. He was more like an annoying gnat.

I am so sad this lovely series is over but the good news is I will watch it again and again and again.

He's a lifelong friend who is pretty much alone in life. She is very compassionate and not going to cut him off completely, but she has been very clear that he's not the one for her. Keep in mind also that part of his motivation is to best LXX, and prove to the world that he's at least as good if not better, which is half the reason he's been so persistent. He'll get over it eventually because our main couple are absolutely end game and madly and passionately in love with each other.

I think it's because they are childhood friends and neighbors who have always been close, and also with his mum ill she probably feels sorry for him, and as I asked earlier in the wee hours, does he even have any friends besides her?
