I don't understand those condemning Shifu, as he was no more creepy and clingy than the vampire. Both leads were selfish and screwed the poor female lead.
And damn I think I have a thing for perfectly styled long hair look, especially Shifu's mean fairy look =p
It was an okay drama for me, didn't expect much from the story. But I liked the consistency of the general's character through the drama, she kept true to her strong and fearless yet naive character.
Just make sure not to throw up while watching the horny king's scenes!
8.3 rating? I refuse to believe it should be lower than 9. This drama excelled in all the aspect of a very outstanding…
Thank you very much for articulating my thoughts =). I, too, watched it while being aware of its so called "bad ending" , which I found realistic and expected from a power hungry/ full of hate and vengeance person(Yun xan).
Am I the only one who's satisfied with the ending?! Very realistic compared to other Wuxia dramas, cough Noble Aspirations.
I really LOVED LOVED LOVED the characters development and relationships especially towards the end. Many complained about the inconsistency of the story as it progressed, but I found that it is what I loved about this drama. People change after going through different events in life, what's important now might not be the same after 5 years.
Chu Qiao is officially one of my top female characters in Wuxia dramas. Her life didn't revolve around her love interest instead she had an independent and goal-focused character, I completely LOVED that about her.
1. The male lead.
2. The hilarious historical/kungfu(Wuxia) imaginary scenes .
Then the female lead grew on me, and now I find her very adorable.

Ye Yin is another brilliant character added to my list of favourite Wuxia female characters.

Even though I've just finished the first episode, her character is already listed in my top female Wuxia's badass characters.
