This really didn't have an ending, did it? It just kinda stopped. The last episode felt like it could've been any episode. And I'm trying to decide if I'm disappointed or relieved that there wasn't any overt romance between any of the pairings. I thought this was meant to be a BL, so I'm kinda disappointed. But the relationships between the pairings are a lot like pet and pet owner, so I guess it'd be weird if it went in a romantic direction. Like, Meow is just a cat. Innocent, naive, and clingy to the guy that fed him. He's a cat. Faiyen and Evan felt like the ones with the most romantic potential because Faiyen seemed like he was really trying to fit in and be human, and he did have a very obvious crush on Evan. And unlike Jin and Manni where feelings were very one-sided, Evan seemed to like Faiyen back. So I guess I just wanted to see more of them. But then the show stopped...
So, seven epsiodes and nothing has happened yet. I don't mean romantically, I mean nothing at all. Is there a…
This feels like a 'slice of life'. Where they establish the characters and their quirks, and then the rest of the show is just cute daily antics with these endearing characters and no real plot. I wouldn't be opposed to this at all, but I think it would work better if the three couples were already couples. Instead it feels like they're building up to them being a couple, but with one episode left, I'm not even sure if we'll get there.
Wait, how are they gonna compile Peach of Time into a movie? For other shorter Korean BLs with runtimes of like 10 minutes per episode, it makes sense. But Peach of Time is 10 episodes with 30 minutes each. That's gonna be a long ass movie.
i see so many people complaining about how they handled the toh's secret collection thingy, but i personally loved…
I also thought it was handled perfectly. It wouldn't have made sense if Nuea was legitimately angry or grossed out by Toh's collection, because Nuea already said that he was well aware that Toh was following him around with a camera and that's what made Nuea interested in Toh to begin with (man has a stalker fetish). If anything, he probably was surprised at just how much stuff he horded. He probably didn't expect it to be that huge.
But that ultimately wasn't the issue for him. For him, he was upset at Toh's reasoning. Toh is aware that he's weird and the idea that the man of his dreams actually likes him feels too good to be true. In his mind, it will inevitably end. So he hordes things to maintain the memories. But Nuea is seriously head over heels in love with Toh and hates that he doesn't have faith their relationship will last. They just both needed to reassure each other how much they love each other and it was handled very well.
Maybe the people that didn't like Nuea's reaction were projecting how they felt about the situation rather than understanding Nuea's character. The thing is, Nuea is weird too. He's a very horny man who got turned on by a nerdy guy following him around with a camera. Just because he's incredibly handsome, doesn't mean he can't be weird. But that's honestly why I love these two. Despite their "odd" personalities, they managed to be one of the most loving and consensual couples I've seen in recent memory.
From reading the comments I am so disappointed. I'm going to watch it because of Joong and because I'm curious,…
5 months ago when GMMTV dropped a shit load of BL trailers on us all at once, that just sent the message to me that they're going for quantity over quality.
Reeeeeeally not a fan of how easily they brushed off a woman being physically abused by her partner. And then they basically call Kluen an idiot for rushing to be there for her. Even she calls him an idiot when she's the one who called him over in the first place. And then she says she's not worth it and they're both okay with that? What the fuck!? Also, why are we apologizing to Typhoon? The guy who knew Daunuea wasn't into him, knew he liked Kluen, insisted on having a date with him anyway, and forced a kiss on him. This man deserves an apology?? I feel like I'm watching a BL from 5 or 6 years ago.
i really can't understand how this show is praised by so many people. its a fricking cringe fiesta. dropped it…
A lot of people had the same experience where they watched the first few episodes and thought it was bad. It's perfectly understandable to drop it at that point. But some people decided to stick it out. I stuck it out because the show is in 4K HDR and looks really good on my TV, so despite the cringe fest, I watched for the nice visuals. But then something unexpected happened...I actually started liking the show. Eventually you just kind of accept that it's a weird show with weird characters. You get accustomed to the show's vibe. And then the pieces start to come together on what the show is trying to do. Nuea and Toh ended up becoming one of my all-time favorite BL couples and I NEVER thought I'd be saying that after my initial impressions on the first few episodes.
I really only watched this for Holland. It is great to actually have a gay actor play a gay role in a BL. And I guess for his first time, he did...okay? I hope he gives it another shot in a better show, because this wasn't it. Even if they used veteran actors to play these roles, I don't think they could save this show. It was just kinda boring.
Like so many others here, I started out thinking this show was garbo. A cringy and creepy main character, over the top acting, a plot that felt nonsensical, and I had zero faith that they could get me on board with the main relationship of Toh and Nuea. Well, now that it's over, I'm about to give this show an 8 out of 10 and declare Toh and Nuea one of my all-time favorite BL couples. How the HELL did that happen!?
If you stick with it, you do get acclimated to the show's energy. You just accept that it's a weird show with weird characters. And I will certainly take weird characters over boring characters any day. And what I love so much about Toh and Nuea is that they're both equally obsessed with each other. I'm honestly getting tired of the whole "enemies to lovers" trope. Or a couple where it feels like one clearly likes the other more and the other doesn't realize their own feelings until like the final episode. Or when both like each other, but horrible communication, assumptions, and jealousy keep them apart and causes dumb drama. But here, Nuea is obsessed with Toh and heavily pursues him. Toh is obsessed with Nuea and welcomes his pursuits with open arms. I love this!!
What's funny is that both characters have behavior that would normally be red flags in other BL. But ultimately what matters is how that behavior makes the other feel. Toh exhibits obsessive stalker behavior, but Nuea loves that about him. Nuea can be extremely possessive (and extremely horny), but Toh loves that about him. If they're both genuinely happy, then hey, who am I to judge? They really are perfect for each other. I'll easily support them over a couple that constantly lies, plays mind games, and hurts each other. *cough cough*
After "Not Me" and "Semantic Error", this is my third favorite BL of the year so far.
It seems to me people talking trash about Toh weirdness and saying the show is glorifying problematic behaviour…
Agreed. Like, I'm honestly shocked at how much I ended up loving this couple. It's the fact that they're both equally obsessed with each other, which I didn't see coming. So many BL couples are ones that start out as enemies but slowly progress into love, or one person likes the other and the other person slowly warms up to them, or they both like each other but miscommunication and jealousy keep them from being together until like the last episode. But with Toh and Nuea, they're both so madly in love with each other that they can't hold themselves back. Even back when there was some miscommunication and jealousy between them, that never stopped them from wanting to be together, even before they were official. The best couples are the ones where both people are on the same page.
I predict that next episode, when Nuea finds Toh's massive collection, it's just going to turn him on to Toh even more than he already is. Honestly, it'd be out of character if he genuinely got upset about it. He's already revealed that he was always aware that Toh would stalk him and take pictures of him, but that's what made Nuea like Toh to begin with (because that's his kink apparently). So it'd be weird for Nuea to suddenly get upset after seeing it himself. Nuea's always a step ahead of Toh so he must have always figured this collection exists.
This show has taught me that no matter what problems you're having in your relationship, be it awful communication, power imbalance, lying, manipulation, or intimidation, all you have to do is say "I love you", have sex with them, and everything's good. 👍
Man, I'm not sure how to feel about this one. I had no issues with the dark and disturbing parts, it's what I expected. But I found the basis of their relationship confusing and it ended with several questions unanswered. I get that one's a sadist and the other a masochist, but my god, the shit they do to each other is on another level. I would never even treat my worst enemy the way they treat each other, and yet they're lovers... And how did sadist Mitsuo get involved with the yakuza in the first place? That was my biggest question.
I do think this is at least the best BL role Chap has been in. Mhok in Lovely Writer was worthless to the plot and Tue's story in Y-Destiny was one of if not the worst storyline from that show. At least The Tuxedo kept me interested the whole time, even if it wasn't exactly great.
Why the hell doesn't Tutor lock his phone? Who just leaves their phone lying on a table unlocked and with no password? Same for Zol and her tablet and computer.
i just started watching first episode and its so weird how toh is obsessed with nuea tho.. will it get better…
So I felt the EXACT same way when I started watching this show, but now it's become one of my highlights of the week and I can't believe I'm saying it. I don't wanna give too much away, but it gets better in the sense that you start getting used to the show's vibe and accept that it's a weird show that you can't take too seriously. Toh is a very weird character, but so is everyone else, including Nuea. In what regard? You'll find out. (Unless you want me to tell you)
But that ultimately wasn't the issue for him. For him, he was upset at Toh's reasoning. Toh is aware that he's weird and the idea that the man of his dreams actually likes him feels too good to be true. In his mind, it will inevitably end. So he hordes things to maintain the memories. At least Not Me was excellent.
