God, Nuea is horny as fuck! Toh doesn't even have to do anything and Nuea will still pop a boner for him.
This show can be really stupid and cringey sometimes...well, a lot of times, but I will admit I like how as the series goes on, it isn't just Toh being a creepy and obsessive weirdo, but Nuea is starting to rival his level of obsessiveness. They really are meant for each other. Most people would find Toh's actions creepy and off-putting, but I guess Nuea just thinks it's hot. 😂

Theo is kind of being a hypocrite. He's angry at Akk for lying to him about his parents, but he was the one lying about the whole Enchante thing for more selfish reasons imo.

Apparently the original ending was that they all die in the car and don’t get saved?????? Is that why the ending…
The ending felt appropriate to me. Throughout the series, White kept saying that it's important to get support from the people. A lot of the gang's plans were focused on just sticking it to Tawi and not caring if society saw them as a bunch of unlawful thugs. But White was adamant about letting the public know their cause and getting them on their side, which ended up saving their lives.

Title His
I feel like His is a lot more enjoyable if you completely ignore the prequel, because the specifics of that story really have zero bearing on His.
Just treat it like a standalone LGBT film about societal pressure, making mistakes, facing the consequences of said mistakes, and learning to be true to yourself.

Me: Alright Black, what happened with you and Todd? Did you kill him?
Black: No, I couldn't do it.
Me: Then how the hell did you esca-
Black: I just beat him into a coma.
Me: .....You know what, Black? You're alright. 😏

I am still curious how Black escaped the first time around though. Did Todd just let him go? Let him off with a warning? If so, then Todd is dumb. 😂 That's super villain mistake #1 - letting the enemy go because you no longer think they're a threat.

Hmmm....this MIGHT be my #1 favorite BL. I don't know, I'm gonna have to think really hard about this. Maybe re-watch some of my favorites to see how I feel. But for the time being, it's absolutely a 9 out of 10. I'm very curious if KinnPorsche can top this.

I feel like whether you sympathize with Dan and the difficult position he was put it or whether you just think he's a spineless traitor, both opinions are fair. Like, I do kinda feel for him, but at the same time, fuck him!

So I just started watching "Not Me" today, hopefully will get caught up in time to watch the finale next Sunday.…
I don't wanna overhype stuff, because I do feel like that can impact someone's perception of something. But...unless this show somehow completely drops the ball on its ending, I'm prepared to give it a 9 out of 10. It is my favorite BL from GMMTV by a mile and will become among my top favorites ever. But that's because it matches my tastes in a good show. I love action, thrills, and suspense with a helping of romance and thought provoking commentary. But I know some people just want to watch a cute, fluffy show that makes them feel happy rather than on edge, so I get if it isn't everyone's cup of tea. And no show is perfect, including this one, but I personally feel the great moments outweigh certain parts I felt could've been handled better.

I don't get it. What does Nuea see in Toh? Why does he like him? Is Nuea just really really horny and sees Toh as an easy target? That's the only way this makes any sense.

Ep. 7 had to have set the record for the amount of times two characters' faces get uncomfortably close and stare at each other for an eternity, only for nothing to actually happen. 😂

Well, there are two possible explanations:1st: Gram and Black are a couple in the novel, so everyone was kind…
This is the last I'll say on the matter. A big point in my original post and why I ultimately side with Gram is that I think Black's methods of "protecting" people are short-sighted at best and selfish at worst. He destroys relationships with the intention of keeping them away from danger, but leaves them completely in the dark or takes away their ability to choose. He tries to protect them, but all he does is hurt them. He hurt Eugene, he hurt White, and he ESPECIALLY hurt Sean. I see this trope all the time with short-sighted superhero characters who don't want their loved ones to get put in danger, so they abandon them, even though they want nothing more than to help.
He doesn't take how they're feeling into consideration. That's the whole reason White jumped into the lake and almost drowned, to remind Black that whatever pain White goes through, he will too. White let Black feel his pain and that's when Black finally decided to let White do what he wants.
But by that point he had already emotionally damaged Eugene by leaving her with the vague but alarming reason that he could die at any moment. All that does is instill fear and worry into someone. They'll want to know why and what's happening, but of course Black remains silent. So in ep. 12 when Black comes back to Eugene for essentially an exact repeat of their initial break up with his "This may be the last time I see", making that fear and worry resurface, that is why I can't blame Gram for getting defensive of Eugene who's gone through enough as he's seen it happen twice now.

My problem with Gram is that they took this character, set him up as a nice person, suggested he had feelings…
I do understand being disappointed because of what could have been. I also thought it would've been nice to see, I just wasn't anticipating it. But I don't see how it's bad enough to label the character as toxic and manipulative. Opportunistic? Probably. But manipulative seems like a stretch to me.
The fact that Gram asks Black (White at the time) to give Eugene another chance shows to me that he mostly just wants her to be happy and hates seeing her hurt. He only starts asking her out once White says he'll never see her again. That's why I didn't see his actions when Black returned as "Don't touch my girl!" and more like "You've hurt her enough. Stop!" And yeah, he is persistent, but I didn't see it as any more or less so than any other character in the show. I mean, Yok low-key stalks Dan and steals his ID to learn more about him because he's so infatuated. Nobody's calling that out though, on the contrary, people think they're adorable.
Honestly, I feel like Gram is the one member of the gang with the least amount of issues. Aside from Yok's stalkerish behavior, you got Sean and Black who will literally try and kill you if you make them mad enough. Of course that's not to say these characters are bad because of their actions, no, that's what I like about them. I like that they aren't perfect. I like that they make mistakes and have to deal with and learn from the consequences of those mistakes. They really aren't cookie cutter characters.
By comparison, Gram is pretty tame...maybe even a little dull. There. That's one criticism I have for Gram. Compared to everyone else, he's kinda dull. I don't think he's toxic or problematic or deserving of hate, just kinda dull.

Gram didn't say anything because Eugene made him promise not to say anything, and then apologized to White after Eugene told him the truth herself. I feel like we're all placing the blame on one particular person when all three of them played a part in this situation.

I agree it wasn't cool of Gram to move in on Eugene and kiss her right after the break up (especially when she seemed drunk). But he did immediately regret it (took all of 6 seconds before he apologized) and later told "Black" that it was his fault and to not take it out on Eugene, even going as far as asking "Black" to give her another chance. But when "Black's" response is "I don't think I'll ever see Eugene again", I mean, what then? What's Gram supposed to think at that point?

it isn’t just the gramblackeugene thing by the way even though I think the writing for that whole storyline…
For me, I've already watched my fair share of BLs that introduce drama or a conflict and they drag it out for episodes and episodes and it just gets tedious and frustrating. So personally, I'm happy this show doesn't dwell on anything for too long in order to keep things moving. There's never an episode of Not Me where I feel like nothing happened, whereas for a lot of BLs I've watched, even ones I consider pretty good, there's always at least one episode I feel like I could skip.

I'm confused. Why are people frustrated with Gram? What'd he do? Is it because we now know that he's always had a thing for Eugene and not Black and people are disappointed? Because I honestly never really bought that. It felt obvious this show was pushing for Gram and Eugene to be together, which is fair.
Eugene had been heartbroken because Black left her with no explanation as to why. That's what hurt most for her, not knowing what the issue was. And then it happens a second time when White refuses to give her an answer. Can't blame Gram for getting frustrated watching someone he cares about get hurt over and over. And in this episode when Eugene seems ready to move on and even give Gram a chance, Black comes back again for a hug and a kiss? And no, this isn't closure. It's not closure at all, because Black STILL isn't explaining anything. All this will do is confuse and stress out Eugene further knowing that something could happen to him and she has no idea...again! So honestly, I'm on Gram's side with this one. Black needs to back off if he seriously intends on leaving Eugene to "protect her", then do it. Stop confusing her.
