I am so you! I can't forgive him yet.. I know we all can make mistakes, but this don't give us the right of hurting…
I agree, I saw the video. As I recall it was unwanted advances...no rape...if there had been rape he should have gone to the police.
If what he said happened then he should have: * Tried to work it out PRIVATELY * If he could not, then simply split from him professionally saying something like their career goals didn't match (or similar).
But going on video and making vague accusations was REALLY unprofessional. I suspect that may be the reason he isn't getting acting work (presuming he is even looking for acting work at this point)
I was planning to watch S2 until I found out what Perth and Mean said (Plan also agreed with them if I am not…
If Perth and Mean want to leave BL....then let them, I'm not a fan of either. I honestly consider the director to be the most consistent and important part of this project. If you think about it....they would have nothing if not for New.
So I'd watch, because of the director. But I won't follow the actors to other Genres....
As for Singto....I'd watch HIM in heterosexual roles....but Singto is amazing.
He got famous for BL, and sure he can expand. That's what life is all about but what Mean is basically saying…
Liruge and Midia....do either of you speak Thai? (Was the interview in Thai?) Or is everyone basing everything on what was translated? I do NOT speak Thai, and I haven't seen it, but I've noticed in watching translations that things don't always seem to get translated exactly. And from watching a lot of subtitled shows/dramas (sometimes more than once) I've noticed that if you watch from different translators, the context/meaning can be very subtly different...or vastly different...
So I always try to take it with 'a grain of salt' so to speak and try to confirm things first. Maybe it was more like 'depending on the money when I'm older' ? rather than 'if I need the money when I'm old'?
I legit haven't seen any who said acting in BL is demeaning. But then again, I only follow my faves, so it could…
Agreed, playing the same role over and over would become tiresome. And while I've seen some well done BL, I've seen a lot that were definitely just thrown together with a complete lack of plot or decent writing (probably just to cash in on the BL label), and who would want to be associated with low quality productions. I mean, after all, they can't all be as good as Love By Chance, Make It Right, Love Sick, Sotus, He's Coming To Me(ugh, anything with Singto basically! ), Until We Meet Again ....
And yes, typecasting is a problem....for example, if every role someone took was as a bank robber(or insert random profession/role), then pretty soon that's all they would be offered.... in fact, some actors who only play romantic leads end up having a similar problem where they have trouble getting any roles except for romantic comedy/dramas. Just look at the number of 'action stars' who fill the screen for a decade or more start to 'age out' and can't get any roles because they are typecast as 'action heroes'. (Jean Paul Van Damn, Chuck Norris, etc....)
I have not seen the interview that everyone seems to be referencing (I honestly don't care about fan service...), but if he just said he doesn't want to do more BL unless the paycheck was high enough then I could understand that. If he said that it was because it was demeaning to act as a gay character in a show...that would be something I would take issue with.
But people should understand that to keep their fan base (which seems to be primarily female) they have to do all sorts of things to imply that they have a romantic relationship with their co-stars in real life. That's a business all it's own....and how many people would want to effectively 'act' as their character 24/7 ????? That would effectively be giving up your own life!!!!
I liked this, but I will confess I did not care for the romance angle. It was ok if as a Drama with comedic elements. Don't expect completely accurate history though. More like 'inspired by' history.... I would have preferred the romance between the male lead(s) and the female lead to not even be attempted, I think that would have been a better option (unless there was some historical basis of course, but since this was 'inspired by' rather than a true historical drama it felt like the 'romance' was rather forced and there was little actual 'chemistry/heat' between the leads (although the male leads seemed to bring their side, the female lead didn't seem to actually keep up with the intensity that the lines/actions she was supposed to be taking).
Also, I'm not sure why the tag 'Airhead Male Lead' was there....I thought the female lead was the airhead.....
Well, that's 2 episodes so far... I don't know if there will be any BL...so far they've only called Tonmai a 'Toot' once and the way he reacted to being teased about the girl makes me question if he's playing gay. But of course he could be...so wait and see on that.
These are just speculations/ramblings....
So far she says she doesn't know why she killed herself...
But they talked about the other girl getting knocked up.... If they hadn't had the scene with the Thannam's mother giving birth I would have said Tonmai was actually Thannam's and that she killed herself shortly after giving birth.... (still could happen if the other baby didn't live and the parents decided to raise him as their son rather than grandson to avoid stigma?)... that would imply that Tee was actually the father...which would make certain people's reactions make more sense....
And apparently Tee and Thannam were very discrete in their relationship, since that other woman thought of P'Jane instead of Thannam....but then again that P'Jane seems very suspicious.....did she do/say something to Thannam to send her over the edge and into suicide?
Or..... maybe there is no ghost at all.... Maybe he "sees" her as a "ghost" but in reality he's the reincarnation of his sister? And the "ghost" is actually him talking to himself!

But you can watch on YouTube

I found this on youtube with hard eng subs. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyEm1RW0ftEf0iTiYI9ZD6RPIUJ3VLMl5
And I now think that Tonmai is really the brother of Thannam now (with the same father and mother).
According to LazySubber on facebook they will be doing a My Bromance 2 with same actors, director, etc..

I think it's good to bring back the original actor for 'Bank' from the movie.(I never much cared for the one from the series version).
I'm sure they will make a playlist eventually. But there's only 2 episodes out so far. ;)

Oh well, will just have to wait and see....
