Just finished rewatching for the 3rd time, how is it possible that those 2 deaths still broke my heart even though I know what is coming? Once again 10/10 I highly recommend. PS: Commander Tan & his sexy fingers rolls will always have my heart.
If someone had told me that I would be rewatching this I definitely would have laughed at them but alas I just played ep1 and now I am in ep5, I donāt know if I will end up rewatching everything but I just realized that one of the reasons I didnāt completely fall in love with this drama the first time was the sister, her dumb dazed one facial expression + weak countenance was beyond intolerable for me & it still is now. Oh how did I miss the most ironic thing in this drama, the most boring character in the drama constantly saying boring is actually so funny. Another thing is I didnāt particularly like WYās acting the first time I watched it but then I read the novel after watching it and lemme tell you Mr Wang Yibo nailed that character to perfection. I loved Xiao Zhan as Wei Wuxian the first time I watched and I still love him now, he was absolute perfection, he made that character sing and come alive. And the villain he really was so unassuming, so it wasnāt far fetched that no one was onto him until Wei Wuxian came back altho those heās creepy stares/smirk and 360 degree bows should have been a dead giveaway. Heās level of scheming and manipulation was top tier lemme tell you and it pains me dearly to say this but dare I say it rivaled the great Mei ChangSu, The difference being my genius formidable strategist Mei Su used his scheming powers for good while this one used his for evil
I so badly wanted to love this drama. Even with the adult steamy makeout seshs by the leads which I do give them high kudos for because lemme tell you they ate those scenes (pun intended) and left no crumbs, I just didnāt love the drama as I had hoped especially with all the rave reviews and it being literally everywhere, like on social media. I did enjoy the phone calls though especially when he found out she was on the other end, it was IMO the best part of the drama, I wish we got more of that aspect. I am 30+mins into this drama and lemme tell you itās incredibly astonishing how bored out of my mind I am, this has been on my watchlist because of the high ratings and rave reviews, but I can barely keep my eyes open in the short time I have watched so far & I am someone that has watched & rewatched a lot of series. I completely and totally enjoyed the first half of the drama, but after ep 18 the drama just went downhill for me, the plot and acting in the drama that started out so strong just went downhill, it was astonishing how bad it got especially in the acting department after ep18. I am not surprised the rating keeps dropping because a drama that could have really been so great was butchered half way in. Overall it was an ok watch but itās not something I would rewatch. FYI Idol Stans, not everyone who doesnāt worship your fave idol or donāt like the drama they are in are haters or antis, most times the script and acting just sucks and while I donāt agree with all the reviews of Avenue X but I sure am glad she gives her opinions regardless of the herds of sheep mentality attacks. This drama was not even on my radar and Iām normally a binge watcher (the drama the broke my binge watching streak was The Double, I simply couldnāt wait, shout out Duke Su and A Li) but somehow I have watched till ep13 even though I told myself to wait until itās completed to binge watch, some things are irritating me in the drama so far but Iām still really enjoying it and hopefully it sticks the landing. This is one of the few recent dramas (another one that comes to mind is āA journey to loveā) that donāt have irrelevant characters, all characters here have a purpose and not just to prop any other character up. So far 8.5/10, could bump up to a 9.5/10 if it in fact does stick the landing.

I am liking this drama so far but I am honestly getting a bit pissed off, why is the FL acting all scared, timid and weak in front of only her uncle, she talks back to her father and stepmother but acts like she wants to cry and hide whenever she faces her uncle , why does her uncle have so much power over her emotionally that doesnāt even make any sense, will still keep watching for now

Ep1 was ok enough even though I wasnāt exactly seating at the edge of my seat in anticipation of the next episode but Iām like maybe it gets better since it has such high rating, half way through ep2 and Iām asking myself why Iām I here? 55mins into ep2 and the bank scene I was like yeah Iām out, Iām like is this for real, is this supposed to be a real bank? Iām sorry to anyone who likes this but this is definitely not a quality series and itās honestly bad, the background characters are just lifeless and screaming I am just an extra so loud, my eardrums hurt so much. Cdrama MLs are always written as too perfect in all their ways, they are always the most intelligent, in-fact the most everything but this drama took it to a whole new level, he is a doctor (surgeon), a voice actor, a singer, a chef and to crown it all up he can draw (artist) and good at archery and he is not just decent or good at all the aforementioned, heās in-fact super great at all of them. I just wonder if there are no sounding boards of wisdom in the writers/directors room to tell them when they have gone too far with the āperfectnessā of a character cos boy oh boy the ML was way too far in perfect land, his shit probably smelled like roses and lavender. The whole I planned our engagement photoshoot without consulting you and asking for your opinions, did not read as romantic to me the way the series intended, it probably did for some people but to me it just didnāt. Well to each their own I guess All that being said I did enjoy the drama in the overall sense of the word, Sometimes you just want to go away from the scheming, plotting and backstabbing dramas (which is my fave genre btw) and watch something easy and sweet where everyone loves and support each other and this drama gives you that in leaps and bounds lemme tell you, it really is so sweet that the threat of toothaches and stomachaches is very real. Itās not something I would rewatch as I can only handle all that gooey āperfectionā once. I recommend for a one time watch if you like gooey sweetness Rewatch value 3/10 Overall value 8/10
Iām at ep12 and so far I like this drama although I must admit Iām not a fan of the romantic music and slow motion that is happening with our leads so far especially when they are supposed to be brother/sister (yes he now knows that sheās not his sister but she doesnāt so itās super weird and this romantic music and slow motion thingy happened even before he knew). The other 2 things that is really grating on my nerves so bad. Firstly, the FL talks in such a way that is not natural, its too measured, I havenāt heard anyone talk like that before in my life or even on tv, it comes across as acting (which is what sheās doing alright) but it shouldnāt present itself as such. The utter sickness and disgust I feel reading most of the comments here is frankly overwhelming. I actually quite liked it at the beginning but at about the half way point I honestly did not care about it anymore and fast forwarded just to complete it.
