Totally agree i dropped this one also after seeing him being betrayed over and over, as if they all contributed to make the bad guy they all believed him to be. Yet him forgiving her time and time again, looks so ironic for a bad guy. She's the one betrayed him and she's the good lassie. They tried to make this a very tragic love story or whatever, but love isn't like that. Idk how people perceive love even in a drama. If you love someone you'd do everythung you can to save theme even from themselves sometimes. And one can only endure one two times betrayal. But every single time? I don't think even gods could tolerate that. Let alone human hearts. The great things about this drama is the stellar acting, excellent CGI and fabulous costumes. As for the story, it is almost typical but due to its many episodes, and the rollercoaster of emotions CD tend to create, you get that wow the story is great, but if you just sit back and trying to fathom it...it is mediocre complicated imho. It is saved by the other aspects of the drama.
The only thing really upset me is Yook Gwang has to die and that evil woman Park Hong Joo gets away with murder and she still alive and kicking til the end with her vicious personality. Ugh!
Idk why people comparing this with The Guest when the story is quite different. Here we can see the exorcism from Catholic pov. And the "inception-like" story whete ML was trapped in his subconscious in a world created by the demon to deceive him. Quite good imho. The romance here is just the background story as to why ML decided to be an exorcist priest, for FL as the targeted to be re-posessed since she's the one first opened the mother box again and she's a doctor same with the manifested demon that being locked up.
Though watching interviews about how exorcism conducted is quite different, and many dramas and movies are just the dramatisation of it, but we can see the general framework of how it works. In real life, before exorcism is even brought to table, there must be certain assesment to examine and determine whether someone is possesed by demon or having psychological or mental illness or other medical conditions which symptoms could appear un-natural on the outlook but could be explained medically. And demon possesed person doesn't always make someone look scary. One thing we know is that in every belief since ancient time, demons are real and possesions are real stuff too.
One thing that just abit astrayed from Christian brlief is that they cast the demon straight to hell which is not quite accurate. Demons are sent to the pit where they are chained and kept imprisoned. Hell is the final destination afther the judgment day for them. Hellfire is where they will end up to be completely destroyed. But before that day, demons are casted out to the pit as their prison waiting judgment day. Though lots of Christiand hold belief that when we die we either go to heaven or hell, and demons are castet out to hell, this is not what actually said in the bible though.
People complained about the romance here, well ML and FL actually lovers before the things began to change for them completely separating them in a very different path. Not that excellent one but it is quiete good one to watch.

She didn't report to police because she's already in a disadvantageous situation where it will only call for another attention to her making another "mess". And it fits her character as being "arrogant", "confident" person, she knew no one would believe her if she told the police about encountering and being attacked by monsters in airport parking lot, or in the mid of the street without any witnesses. First she probably thought that she was having a nightmare because when she woke up, the buttler and her secretary said she was found unconscious in parking lot, second she was in such a shock of her secretary's betrayal, and him turning into monster and attack her again must caused her mind to be a little bit confused. But I do agree, no matter how strange and unbelieveable a story is, we would normally go to police to report such a life threathening situation and no matter how confident a person is, when in such sutuation when we encounter such an otherwordly experience, it almost impossible to just act normally like nothing happened especially when we almost lose our lives not just once. At least humane reaction will be all mixed up emotion, being rational person one would be in a state of confusion try to make sense of what's happening, and trying to find out what's going on with her secretary, though he's fired and tried to kill her, he's been with her for quite sometimes for her to considered him "family" and wathed him turned into something like that, one must be wondering what had become of him and also the other person who saved her. At least to report the aide go missing.
It just yes, first impression indees matter, and the impression we get on lead female character as a human is a make no sense character, you just don't act normally when you almost lost your life and the ones tried to take your life are some monsters that you can't even believe yourself existed. Even the strongest character of a person, the most rational person would be very confused in such situation, trying to make sense of it and yes, worry and fear of almost losing the life and can't even explain why you, why only you and what are those things, and so on....
I just on second episode now and will see if this worth a watch. Kim Nam Gil always good in playing his role, and the story seems interesting. Hopefully it isn't as bad as a trash watch 😁
Just don't understand just because they're in Manila they wear that beach shirts etc, while there's no sea around lol. But I enjoy this so much. Great acts definitely. So good to see Kim Woo Bin so playful here.
It is frustrating to see how they make FL a typical spoiled brat just to create a romance....which isn't much needed imo. She studied abroad ffs and came back home demanding an engagment just because she can aske for that, while ML has no say in it at all despite being a new police detective, being an open minded western educated woman didn't teach her any lessons: 1. You don't push a man to engage or to marry you even he loves you too. 2. You don't stick to him wherever he goes, you let him do his job and he's just started why can't she wait until he's ready to face you and to be in a relationship with you. 3. It annoys me so much (and I am a woman) to see how immature impulsive and irresponsible FL is. She invited herself to tag along with ML, and she's not police but decides to interfere making her own decision, and when she was told to not doing so, the blame went to the ML for not understanding and for treating her bad? Like seriously? He didn't ask for her help or any favor, she forced herself doing things but then it's ML's fault when things she did only make things worse for him? It always annoy me this typical characterisation of a woman in many CD. It's like the only thing she learned form western education is following the man around as the guards were back talking her? I mean ugh I hate seeing such characterisation. She could be more developed than this poor representation of a well educated woman. And I hate it when she show off her jealousy over a woman came for help on a case, they became friends later on yes but her behaviour of always butt in and causing problems yet she's not the one to be blamed?
I hope FL character developed to be better after ep 10, the story is quite interesting and intriguing. Even it is not, better skip all the "romance" between FL and ML. Second FL is even better than FL.

Exactly, it kinda hard to find the drama with the same level of excellence now. Hopefully there will be one or two will come...I watched Mouse too, but dropped it on ep 17. It was a well acted drama but then in my personal opinion the story and the plot as well as its moral messages are not as good as it appeared to be in its early episodes. Hey...been good here...how have you been? Yea it's been awhile and still can't get over this show too. I'm currently watching Taxi Driver. How about you? Any good reference of crime/thriller/myster dramas? I plan to rewatch BE after Taxi Driver is over though.
So glad to know that our man Shin Ha Kyun won the award he so deserving and the fact BE also won the Best Drama and Best Screenplay. This drama is well written, well excecuted and well acted. Nothing is perfect but in my subjective opinion this drama is perfectly made in so many aspects. Congratulation to BE and everyone involved in it!

He had no choice but to keep silent because BR threathen him with a child's life (he had no idea that BR planned to kill the boy as well if MC didn't play the game with him). So he used last mins of his life to plead with MC to not seek revenge. But I agree with you this is a major flaw, because as a priest he had every responsibility to consider that this man BR had been killing people and he might not be the last on his killing list and there's no guatantee that BR will keep his words. As a priest he must at least left a clue for MC, as no matter what MC is a detective and it is his job to bring justice for the victims. As devout and pious they tried to portray him, they forgot to also realise he's just human being. Forgive doesn't mean you'll let the murderer get away with their sins. Forgive means you don't hold grudge against things been done to you, it also means that you don't take the law into your own hands, instead let the law and or people who has the authority to uphold law and justice to do their job. His plead with MC to not seek revenge is one thing as one brother to another, but his demeaning MC as a detective is a sin. It is MC's job to deal with murderer, why can't he let him do his job or helping him?why let the evil prevail with his forgiveness? It is absurd and make no sense especially from Christian perspective. And his prayer also was too exaggeratingly wrong, you don't pray for a murderer to be saved, instead you pray for forgiveness, becausr you take into account every sould that has been taken by the murderer. He knew the man in front of him is a murderer, being a priest he know well that yes God is forgiving God but He also a Just God, God saving a person yes it is available for everyone, but it also requires a willing heart of a person to repent and to take responsibility of owning up to his sins in this world.
I think the writer only takes what she needed when building up a character without ever give a deep length of research because her only focus is on BR as the central characther. There are other flaws in other characters too...so convoluted you can't tell what's the moral message here? A Psycho Killer to be tormented with guilt and remorse? And to achieve that all other moral questions can be bypassed and overlooked?
This is too sensational and too convoluted that everyone just paying attention to one person development only and others are served as tools or facilitator for his story. And they too will end up in the same boat as him, maybe even worse with guilt and remorse because they aren't psychopath killers. So one mistake/sin they made, the heaviness of the feelings is not less than BR who killed many.
After seeing the 2 predator episodes, I finally give up this drama...I've seen enough of LSG superb acting and all the rest of the casts...but I have lost all my interest in the story. It's been interesting but still it's just another drama...there's no real message we can learn from it. All what we got from this is roller coaster of emotions that aren't lack in many other excellent Kdramas too...this is juat a personal opinion...so no hard feelings for others who like this drama...LSG and all the casts really doing great job in portraying their characters, especially LSG it must be really hard job but he delivered it so brilliantly...he deserves some awards of his acting here.

Police were misled by BR, remember he put in his phone in someone's bag in bus stop. Police were busy locating the phone while BR was busy killing the priest. I think it was BY that informed the police about the church before she herself went there.
i watched ep 1 of the predator and was wondering, who was kim joon sung and how did he die again?
He was Yo Han's friend. BR mistaken him for YH due to they have similar scent and killed him while he was preparing hia stuff to go abroad. It isn't shown yet how BR get to identify him and his address, etc before killing him. Because the only persons who know about him were BY's granny and detective Shin (seen his face) and KMC.
About the mint scent...idk if the writer know about it or not. Actually psychopaths has poor sense of smell, i.e they have problem identifying smell and identifying between smells. How could BR so sure that he smelled Mint and identifying it with YH? I think he smell something but then called it mint to mark YH's scent. Because if the scent really a mint, then writer didn't do a thorough research on psychopathic traits...
And the smell BR keep smelling and associating it with YH might be something called Phantosmia, one of many reasons to cause this smell hallucination is something happened to temporal lobe (temporal lobe seizure). He keeps hallucinating the smell, because he remember that unique smell and associating it with YH when he was hallucinating YH or when he sees things that related to YH.
He smelled mint when he saw the brooch and MC's bro pendant because previously he struggled with YH after he murdered BY's granny and then he smelled YH's scent again when he "arrived" at the church where he murdered MC's bro and we are shown that YH was actually there also at the crime scene. So he just associate the smell with YH and mark it as Mint scent.. because before his surgery, in no way he can tell the smell as mint because psychopath is just lacking at that ability to identify and differentiate whatever smell they are smelling....
