So nobody found the answer why did he killed so many people?? What's his motive?? If they're having a second part…
He basically said it himself when FL asked why he did it to her? He asked her back, should he has any reason for doing it? He's just doing it for the sake of doing it, enjoyinh stealing people's identity from their phone, destroying their lives and then killing them. No specific reason and motive needed. He's just sick psychopath.
What a waste of a stellar casts The casts acts really well, but the story is a total insult for victims of murder and violence., victims of false accusations and even to the police force. As their death plays nothing but some reference lines here in the drama.
1. The detective Yang with his crazy obsession and breach of all police work ethic he caused so much damage to the young ML into suspecting his disabled father, literal gaslighting him leading to the death of his own father commitijg suicide. And no he didn't feel any guilt over that for so long, just because oh well he thought ML's father pushed his daughter down the bridge? And oh ML instead of trying to clear up and explained it to that detective early on, about why he burned the jacket, out of his own misunderstanding no he didn't do any of that instead he embarked on his own journey to catch Gap Dong, and keep his mouth shut for so long even when that detective keeps accusing him and his father, gashlighting him and all. He only done that after so many deaths occured by second ML. They both literally as guilty as the villains with theit own obsession of justice? Causing one after another situation.
2. Regarding FL obsession as well to catch Gap Dong oh well both ML and detecrive Yang long known that there was a surviving witness, but oh they never suspect FL with all her strange obsession to dig into Gap Dong, the possibility that she is the witness is never cross their mind until later on? Anf they are police, and just accept the explanation that oh she's the daughter of a profiler. That should make sense to them since the profiler married FL mother thus making her his daughter, they should have guessed it but the story has to go spiral hete and there before they know she's indeed the witness. And even more stupid how can a profiler be so reckless to just mis-profiling, it is indeed the job of police to find the culprit based on the profiler work, but what this great profiler do actually? Nothing, he couldn't profile the culprit at all and the idea he had to make a ruse to trap Gap Dong by sacrificing himself is even more ridiculous. Basically that detective Yang and ML not working based on his profuling at all but their own porfiling and guessing game.
3. Both FL and second FL trying to play humanity is even more absurd. It is insult to all victims of murder and violence on how they tried to symphatize with murderers, serial killets no less. And they just use references about victims they killed to appeal to their human sides? One has seen all those victims and known the facts of the culprit being a serial killer, the other is an actual victim and survivor and witness but oh well theu have not shown any fear at all being around these people, FL badically show little to no trauma, facing with second ML being a serial killer (copycat). Both will come and go when being called by this second ML and oh give full ears to his non-senses even and symphatize with him and nothing at all showing them being scared or even having the sympathy for the victims and their families and how they might feel if they are in thosr people's shoes. It is not realistic at all as one is not even someone trained with pyschology but just a regulat girl, in a realistic situation, normal gilr would be terrified and scared knowing someone they know is a killer, but this girl is just so unrealistic as she even tried to understand a psychipath and tried to make him humane (you live in an advanced technology world where you can go browse and research about psychopath and psychopathy literally, but oh well she didn't do all that, she's just a good hearted girl who wanted to believe there is good in a setial killer heart, what a non-sense), and the other one FL has full knowlege about psychopath and psychopathy yet oh well she felt guilt toward him because she used him? Inspite this man had murdered people? And even worse like ML just let them hang around second ML the serial killer, in realistic world that's not going to happen especially when you are a cop. You will never ever ever let your loved ones or famoly going around and hang around with killers. And nowhere said why Gapdong or ML killed these women, when these two ladies keep trying to understand these murderers, but nothing til the end. Nothing about the victims at all, no one is sorry and apologetic and teied to find justice for the victims at all but using them to find their own justice and the others just use them to try to understand the murderers and tried to appeal to their human side and think they can make them and change them into normal human being. It is really insulting imho.
4. Even both real Gapdong and copycat Gapdong are said to be psychopaths, they feel no fear, no guilt, no emotion, no sympathy nor empathy, ok but then both of them show genuine fear of death which is again a non-sense. Both them really show fear of death which is not a trait of psychopath at all. Their brain just don't work like that, they can't feel fear or even express it. When it comes to life and death situation, normal people will show fear of death and it will be all over their face and all other physical expreasion, but not with pyschopath, it is all about survival instinc kicks in, but they wouldn't ever show any fear because they just can't feel it. But oh well both so called psychopath shows fear and again inspite of great acting by the actors, it just felt obverdone. You don't even feel any thrill nor chill at all, that is why many of the viewers even sympathise with second ML despite he is a villain, his acting gives no vibe of a frigthening serial killer at all, people even cbeered for him being hot and whatnot. He just doesn't give that vibe despite the superb acting, it is too overdone.
5. It should stay with phsychopatic serial killer but oh no, it has to went down spiral crazy with MPD as well. Seriously, and oh how is it done, it is Gap Dong himself made that suggestion to unafraid and untraumatised FL who bravely meet a serual killer alone at her home, what a heroine bs. He made that suggestive move that he had MPD and she bought it easily and oh well just some simple test to prove he actually had an MPD, just people watching him and observe him for a month and ok he had MPD, and even worse she's a victim and a witness and she gets involved in the investigation as interrogator herself, like seriously? She couldn't even act professuonaly many times but oh well, she had to be involved.
6. The whole police are even worse, like the whole police department dependent on this sloppy and reckless detective Yang and also ML just because oh they know Gap Dong well so all their mistakes should be overlooked. And let them catch Gap Dong themselves and let the police and prosecutor being their running errands boys.
7. Second ML was made to change his cirizenship too evade law in SK. Ok, like magic, he suddenly granted US citizenship and eventhough he was ordered to deport and never to return to SK immediately, oh well he was freed oit of jail and still be able to roam aroind visiting Gap Dong, visiting second FL and all, like wow a free-man. All this stupid non-sense just make your blood boil actually.
In the end this is not about achieving justice for the victims but about the leads feeling of achieving their life-long goals to catch Gapdong. And really making those women tried to humanise serial killers not just stupid but insulting. You can never humanise them who are not even show a slight guilt nor regret of their killing another humab being. And you can never sympathise with them who can never show any symphaty nor emphaty and has no will to repent. This drama started off good but went down crazy stupid.
The only worth is the acting is good, but that's all about it.
They are not justifying her cheating. Instead they uncover it and in the process she herself realising what she…
Sure, watching so dramas with with similar kind of story like DV/Cheating presented in such a way that we might not like doesn't mean the drama itself normalizing DV or cheating and all kind of abuse. And I think in this drama though it is a fiction they tried to present it in a way how a cheating person dealt with. It is not about right or wrong or whatever justification it is all about how we human dealt with raw emotions the consequences of our deeds. We saw dramas about people who murder others just because their personal justification, or they used to be oppressed and abused, etc so many kind of stories, but that doesn't make the drama normalising murder or violence or abuse in anyway.
I don't think this drama is normalising cheating but trying to portray the reality of one's weakness and conscious…
If you watched carefully, she doesn't know anything about the man killed her husband or any idea that he's a bad guy, because all she knew was her husband and tae jin were friends. And her husband never talked about the nature of their friendship. And the way Tar Jin said that it didn't take much to seduce her into having an affair with him, because she's just that kind of person who always need to be loved and cared for, always need someone to rely on and depend on. She said to FL, 7 years of their marriage even though their child was ill, they were happy. And after she passed away, they just drifted apart with their own grief, meanwhile her husband while dealing with his own grief, he also struggling with the past, haunted by guild and pain as he wanted to set things right, and to make the right decision that he failed to do in the past, to protect friendship doesn't mean to cover up or being silent of their crimes, but to help them realised what they did wrong and take full responsibility, leaving her wife alone with her own grief. She realised her wrong and regreting it too, she said all lead to her situation, she lost everyone dear to him even the man she had an affair with and she cling on to, left him when she no longer useful for him and she accepted that as something she deserved. And in the end she didn't even fight also about the money.
She didn't even know that Tae Jin planned to kill her husband until the very end, and the man died, shot by his friend, and the drama didn't show us if she forgive the man or not, and in regards to her cheating, I don't think this drama is all about it, but it seems that she didn't forgive herself as easily after all things unfold. She didn't fight for the money and just tried her best to live on her own and stand on her own and depending on her ownself.
We see in this drama all the shortcomings of each character in their so called "friendship". Even ML and FL have their own shortcoming and selfishness and inconsederacion as a friend.
In the end this drama is about our human nature and our connection with each other around us. And I don't think this is about normalising cheating or taking it for granted or making it something light and forgiveable, but about how one's deal with it and the friends around be there not to judge or to justify but to help them realise their mistakes and taking responsibility of ther mistakes. I think it is the proper way being a friend, trying to understand them and trying to understand why they do things doesn't mean they justify it, it simply show they are being friend for a friend in her worst.
this drama was pretty solid except for the cheating wife thing, idc if her husband died or whatever, she cheated…
They are not justifying her cheating. Instead they uncover it and in the process she herself realising what she did wrong, felt tremendous guilt and she had to live on regretting it all as her punishment. And if you watch carefully she indeed was a broken woman, an easy prey for the villaon to takr advantage of, she genuienely belife that man loved her and would want to be with her, during the most fragile time.of her life, losing her child and both her and her husband drifting aways from each other in their own grief, her husband in his own grief and she in her own, and the other man came in to be that man she thought she could rely on. Though all that can't be an excuse or justify cheating, but that's a reality of our weakness and shortcomings and at worst pur tendency to look for other people to escape our struggles, an easy way out. Instead of dealing and overcomimg we wanted to be catered on and have someone to release us with all those fake love and caring, eventhough we know.maybe all just fake but those are good feelings anyway and make one feels comforted and at ease, feeling secure even for just some moments but nevertheless addictive.
I don't think the drama is justifying cheating but more about how they deal with cheating. Friends are there not to judge her but help her realising ot herself, friends are not there to execute judgment also on her, but help her overcome and fix her.own mistakes. And that is I think a proper things. I don't see anything about justifying cheating, as it can never be justified no matter what the reason or excuse is. They just tried to understand her excuse or reasoning , tried to understand her. But it doesn't mean they justify it in anyway.
fucking shit, normalizing cheating , I was about to give it 8.5 but now i'll give it 6.5Something must be really…
I don't think this drama is normalising cheating but trying to portray the reality of one's weakness and conscious decision to cheat and all the excuse making of why she did what she did. That's the excuse she made to cheat on his grieving husband. And if you watch carefully, she was indeed taken advantage of by the villain she cheated with, in her fragile state, when she and her husband couldn't come together dealing with their grief but drifting away from each other. The man took advantage of it seduced her and made false promise which she in her state of confusion thinking this man as a more strong and has more stable situation, despite knowing he has family wanting such a man she think could rely on. That's the reality of cheating they tried to convey, it's called cheating because you just not cheating on someone, but also cheating on your own consciousness and your own dignity as a person.
And the friends there are not there to judge her for her being a cheating wife. They symphatize with her not because of her cheating but because she's the wife of their dead friend and she was used by the villain to get that half part of the password to access the money acount, which she didn't even realise that she was being used. We saw she felt tremendous guilt that at the end she said she didn't deserve any financial gain from her husbamd, she received her own punishment, realising all her misunderstanding and mistakes.
And as we also see througot the drama, that shows that no one of them are perfect even the main leads, the so called good friends. They have their own shortcomings, FL.was a greedy selfish woman (though she had her reason to be like that) still that can't justify her greed for money, but her friends are there to help her realise that along the way when things begin to unfold, it is not about the money but about restoring their friendship as it used to be. The same with ML in his self-righteous stand, he failed to see through his friend, why he did what he did, he failed to try to understand his friend back in the day, he only believe what he saw and heard but never care to try to get to know why his friend doing that or try to find out his friend's life at home, he though his friend did all that to.protect his friends but it wasn't so as he later find out, he was himself as a young man was pressured to do so, he didn't witness anything as he said when being questioned by the school board, he just heard them things from the actual witness. He was forced to not say a word by his father who also was pressured with his position and as a young person he has no actual power against those adults with their established and sytematic power abuse. And he took all the burden on himself and losing not just his closest friend but also his gf he thought the best way to protect them from.those people. As his friend being transfered to another school and broke up with his gf and made himself as a captive of the toxic.friendship. ML failed to see it all but just being angry and even refuse his friemds many times apology not even give him q chance to explain nor asking how he's.doing. So in my opinion.this drama is all about that the kind of connection these people had, how they perceive it, and how they tried to maintain or dismiss it, etc. Everyone with their own motives and egos and compromises they made or not willing to make.
And that one dead friend, in his death as he promised ML put things back together again, restoring the old friendship back, and all the fake frienfship.indeed fall apart. And each them realised what a "friend" actually means. That is all about connection.
I actually like it that the trion friends despite their upset toward the wife and how they despise her cheating, they do not being judgmental towards her and tried to help her not just realising her mistake on her own, but also later on try to help her back on her feet not just for the sake of their late friend but also as frienda for her. Not just for that cheating wife but also for the wife of other friend who commited many crimes juat to gain.friendship with the main villains those who were brainwashed by one of main villain's father to have all classmates to help his son with those motto "to be help a friend". They also help that friend who used to be their classmate as well despite all what she did to hid her husband and his friends crimes. At the end of the day that's what friends are for. You be there for them in the worst time and when they being the worst of themselves, to help them back on, help them realise and overcome, to fix whats wrong and be responaible of their choiced and deeds. Not to cover up their crimes, or aiding and abetting them in their crimes.
All things considered they kinda exaggerated drug effects a LOT lol like no one becomes that addicted in 3 days…
Well actually there are drugs that can actually make one addicted in a matter of days, the writer won't make such a story without doing the research. And here it is said that this new drug (of course a fictious one) is a kind of lab trial drug that was perfected by one of the friend in his revenge quest, he created such a highly addictive drug to mess with his "friends" heads.
But actually drugs here is the premise, or plot drive since ML is from narcs dept and one of the main villain is a drug addict, and the other friend was forced to make and sell drugs to make money for her daugther's medical expenses, and the main villain own one big pharma corp. But the main story here is about "connection" of those people in the past and present time.
S1 was great both, FL, ML protagonist and the villain and all supportinh characters were impressive.
S2&S3 were not just impressive but it left such a mark that makes voice differ from other series in the same genre. It is different with S1 and S5 because detective Cho had to die, he made the voice different, his character is jusr different from ML in S1 and S4 (which kind of typicap protagonists).
If they can bring back Bang Jesoo from the death, and I guess he will be returning villain along with new master from Fabre (goddess Lee), probably they can somehow.revive detective Do (that he somehow didn't die but saved by tje Fabre (becausr initially his brother wanted to turn him into monster like him, and as fabre lab was dealing with brain illness, probablu detective Cho is the most unique case, idk but I don't think FL super ability to hear is anymore unique than result of how brain tried to compensate the losing function of another organ, or it can be as result of deliberate brain surgery to enhance it. But personality and brain is always something intriguing. I think if they bring back BJS as villain, they should bringback det. Do as well as there are things left unexplained of his character as well, as how and why he lost his childhood memory? And how it was suppressed and distorted.
But whoever the ML will be i think they will keep det Cho for this season and det Mo of he ever return maybe as guest role or a mention. It would be great if he's returning though.
But in s4 FL heard det Do and saw him but then think it might be just her illussion as det Do had died. It could be a hint that maybe det Do didn't die and he"s still secretly investigating Fabre on his own (i know it's a making believe lol).
And so good to have det Shim back on GTT with the other original members, he basically the original member with det Moo.
Anyway so looking forward for S5, get to see why FL get het super hearing ability and her and GTT cases and final deal with Fabre.
Drop it at 3rd episode, like seriously how easy it is for a person just came to threathen a powerful shaman/necromancer to summon an evil spirit? And the guardian spirit can just dissipate with some sticky rice and the shaman couldn't do a thing but to follow a request from a man while she couldn't anticipate the person would kill her and her daughter later on? And even more absurd the spirit of serial killer somehow so powerful than the person with the ability to summon the spirit? And he just swallowed her power just like that? All just too easy for the evil spirit it seems and the way to end it also just like that, let it drowned in the sea (just skip to see the end how the evil spirit ended). Like after all the murders and so on, the evil spirit actually can be dissipiated just like that, get yourself drowned in salty water and it will put an end to it. I wondered why the loq rating, and give it a go, then couldn't help but dropping it when the murdered just go to the shaman, and rhe shaman couldn't even put a fight, and lol how easy to kill a spirit but somehow a shaman couldn't kill the particular spirit the same way the murderer do when he said could do it easily, like what a meh story, great disappointment indeed even when the casts acrually great, but even their acting couldn't help at all.
kang gilyoung was rather insufferable throughout lol. she got better towards the end so that's fine ig. ive seen…
Imho Hwa Pyung is more insufferable than the other two for the most part, he started off as selfish reckless and demanding character with no care that the two were bound to rules of their professions. One couldn't just perform excorcism without authorisation, it has to go through premilinety test by authorised excorsist, a doctor overview and recorded process and the other is a police detective who is bound to do things according to law, she couldn't just go on investigating ghosts and spirits when there are no laws about those things. She is not traumatized person but bear anger and guilt over her past, she's angry over her mother's death and guilt because she was upset at her mother and refused to talk with her just before her mother's death. She's a loner but she's good at her job better than any male detectives. As a detectuve of course she would yell at you alot when a civilians keep involving himself in an ongoing investigation and keep saying things about otherwordly things and act suspiciously.
Hwang Pyung recklessly demanding the two to do things the way he wanted, and when things didn't go the way he expected he said harsh things to them when it is he who needed their help not the other way round, He got them involved in those cases with demanding attitude while he kept them in the dark as to why he's so persistent on pursuing Park Il Do. Mateo had to figure it out from that senior priest then tells it to Gil Young. And after all his demanding them and got them involved so deep, he then wanted to exclude them completely from getting rid of Park Il Do, because he doesn't want them to die as he also suffered the trauma and guilt. It is his character that started off annoying but gets better as things begin to unfold.
The three of them gave their strength and their own issues through which they bonded together not just as partners but also friends. An unusual bond of a psychic, a catholic priest and detective who doesn't believe in gods or deities.
And I must say Gil Young is the one could bring them two together as the two felt guilty for her mother's death, she has strong character yes because it is what keeps her going, she wasn't close to anyone at work except her partner. Not because she's reckless but because she always got thr job done and not bending to pressure from her superiors at work, you know the hierarchy thing in SK society sometimes do more harm than good for people at work. She's pretty much on her own and she couldn't be nice feminine and a yes person if she wants to keep being a detective. So imho she's one of the rare character of female detective in Kdramas. She's cool instead.
Park Bo Young & Ahn Hyo Seop are the saving grace of this drama, everything else is just trash!!!!!
Nope, the saving grace of this drama is Han So Hee and Kwon Soo Hyun as their acting here pretty much better and believable and relatable than the ML and FL. Just because they fill in most of the screentime doesn't make them the saving grace of this drama. This drama in itself is a total disappointment. Don't even deserve 7 MDL.rating. it's below 5.
I don't normally write reviews on the shows I watched. But this show just managed to piss me to a whole new level…
Like how many times she got attacked because she's just have to fall victim for the plot to move forward. Like she's a prosecutor, but act like.she had a seed for a brain. She eithet ran here and there being noisybody, or getting attacked because just stupid brave wanting to save the day but no ability to do so, not even think about giving a hint..this drama is a total waste not just a time but also energy. Not to mention the whole.saga about why the different physical change, the whole sick stereotype about being pretty/handsome and ugly. That's the most infuriating thing for me about Korean stereotype about what being beautiful is being enforced in this drama. It is sickening, not to mention unbeatable character of FL.with her calling ML things, and she treated her even worse than second FL but oh well she's the love of his life and he has to just accept being called stupid, idiot, pest,.prick. and he got so offended to such extreme just because second FL.called him ugly. While he had to endure all the rejection and treatment as a fan-boy, errand-boy, being called this and that by his true love and all that just ok with him. It is downrigjt insane.imho.
I'm sorry but this is one drama is just downright crazy.
1. The glorifucation of physical appearance, that's how the general beauty standard in SK. You are defined by your physical apperance your wealth, and social status. It keeps making references about ugly and handsome and beautiful, and so on. ML original self is ugly and short then oh because he's a good soul, he revived as a handsome tall man. And the FL original is beautiful and tall, she died, revided as "ugly" short woman, but wait because she's a woman the standard for "ugly" is just "ordinary" looking but well she's pretty anyway but ley's just call her ugly for the sake of the character.
2. FL is not just narcissitic personality she has un ugly mouth as well. She keeps on calling ML pest, udiot, prick, brat, etc. And gosh one of the most insufferable character I ever watch. She's not a prosecutor-like at all, not even close. Proudly said the more you close to the law the more you break it, and she never even act one and think like one, instead act like a fraud-con man. And the way she treated ML like for years she treated him like a fan-boy that she keep rejecting and keep in the friend-zone, then he revived a handsome tall man, oh now she's in love woth him, yet still treating him like her errand-boy even demanding and using his wealth too. And she called the second FL gold-digger, at least second FL admit that and she had pretty sad reason as to why she act like that. But FL is total arrogant when she just ran here and there, being noisy, and really she's being there just as a plot drive for ML to somehow catching the killer because he needed her initially to find his run-away fiancee. Then she juat act like I'm pretty and smart, but all for show you don't really see what so pretty about her but a face, not the personality nor character. And even more absurd how on earth she revived to look exacactly face and body of her old co,worker? And this coworker even called her brat and snob. But oh well since she's basically a good person let's just brushed off her way of treating others and calling someone who helped you alot anf you keep depending on his help with such things as idiot, etc. The drama keeps on emphasizing how ML loved FL for reason even after he's being rejected so many times in the past, and he looks like someone suffer from inferiority complex because of his look, and now he's handsome tall guy, but hey he's good man, he still love her no matter what, even when she still treating him the same, except now she apparently in love with him for his good looking and wealth. It is just total dumb story.
3. They tried to make ok you revibed based on your soul-look. So the ugly ML has a handsome tall soul, and it became his new physical look after revived. But with that major physical change not just ML but also FL and others. The only thing not change in size and form apparently only their finger prints and eye. And their blood and genetic make up. It is fiction but an absurd one. And ok a good soul will revived in good or just ordinary look person, but the bad ones will revived as an old person? How on earth the main villain revived as an old guy (oh he's a bad man, so he turned old?, how about the landowner lady, she's not just transformed as an old person but a total different sex, and old guy even a disabled one, so by the logic, she should be even worse a soul than the main villain. And the ML ex not changing at all, so she's the only one with honest and true personality, because at first ep when those whatnot grim ripper said when someone is revived their physical and soul-look should be the same and not changed at all.
5. The villain as an old guy, he once even said being in old body he lacks vigor, he walked slowly but wow he managed to outrun the detectives, and he has such physical strength that he could beat ML to death, and also the FL parents, no one seemed to be able to physically overcome that old lack of vigor man.
6. And the police here also not just be there to be errand boys to be told here and there doing this and that. As to how FL and ML keep getting in the investigation and even lead the investigation as they like, they can just come and go to the police station and the detective just getting whatever they want. Even ordered a detective to fake a murder and investigation which is downrigth insane.
But what so very disappointing here is how beauty is perceived, it is so very physical and downright degraded. Like you should have pretty face at least for people to take notice and like you? Or even better being pretty/handsome and tall, then everyone will turn their head wherever you go. That's how it seems in SK. No wonder lots of people especially young generation, feel insecure and unsatisfied with their look they have to do plastic surgery just to make themselves feel looking good and better. Not against plastic surgery, but definitely against such culture that drives people to feel insecure and not accepting themselves as they are. Beauty is so physical that even when you don't feel perfect with your own body or face shape and whatnot. Peoole mostly nowadays hiding behind mask of heavy make up or with plastic surgery because of this "standard" of beauty. Really, things like this just ruined not just the drama but also a lot of young viewers who perceive beauty as something physical. Not about one's personality tje content of one's.character. I really don't like the FL character here, she's narcissistic before her death and after revived I think she's just meh, at lead second FL if we follow the beauty physical.standard is way more pretty than FL, she died and revived look the same, she's treated as the bad one, bit at least she's not constantly calling ML.this and that, and FL.supposedly has been doing that to ML.for years and oh she is still the love of his life. I can only imagine in real life what man will stand such a treatment.
The story itself started good but just go downhill by the time, we don't.know why the marble transformed the physical look in such an extreme way for all it revive but one, the second ML. And the plot is just a mess.
Even the actors with their acting can't save this mess of a drama. And tbh FL and ML have no chemistry at all, or it maybe because of the awkward story, but ML looks have more chemistry with second FL. His facial expression is mostly kust the same toward FL like nothing special. But with second FL we can see the dynamic of his emotions. And idk if it just poor execution or what, but FL.talk too casually about her murder, we do not see her being traumatized at all. Onyl show flash of her having nightmare but nothing.special as well,.the only thing she care about is her physical appearance change, and she doesn't really care much of her family, after her mother and father were attacked and her idenity is revealed she didn't stay with them at hospital, but run here and there but nothing of substance because ML basically can do that alone or woth second FL, but well she just has to be there, she has to be attacked time and time again. Which is again her prosecutor brain doesn't seem to work at all.
So this is just a great disappointment of a drama.
How many episodes do i have to get through before the FL is bearable. Messing up crime scenes, arresting people…
Both ML and FL unbearable for half of the drama. ML can be an excentric medical examiner without keep yelling at his subordinates and made even worse for his subordinates except for Stella that being with ML working under him then to keep making their character to keep making unprofressional opinion, jumping into conclusion even before the autopsy is concluded is really atrange. The writer tried to make a contrasting character between cold ML with non-sense talk with super talk active FL and tried to make them somehow a team up. The story is good but character-wise we are presented with many unprofessional ones considering their profession demanded neutrality and evidence-based, data-based, and thorouh investigation-based iob.
The FL is supposed to be smart graduate and rank first on her so called training, and she showed up at crime scene without shoe cover and gloves is just awkward way to make the ML later on examine her high heels? She keept on talking about gut feelings and that lead her to act more like defender attorney than a prosecutor, she goes with accusing first, insisting on it, then go bickering unnecessararily with ML to speak her mind with noise and keep making her unwanted opinion on ML's character, a person she just met and keep poking on his personal life, like you just don't go on tell someone you iust met and work with with comments like you are heartless one for merely doing his job professionally when he said his personal opinion doesn't.matter, what matter is what the body can and can not tell him and the resuly of his examination and testing. But really she barged into someone's office not just the ML is her senior but also a very dedicated professional, and accuse him of this and that disregarding his professional opinion as if he has to make a report that align with her mind and her position as prosecutor insteaf of independent investigative body. It is one thing to be straighforward and to consider gut feelings also, she claimed to be good judgment of character yet she couldn't even see through the criminals that she initially believed their lies.
And even worse, she looked traumatised when she first being attacked by someone she initially didn't suspect at all, all thanks to ML and his team to save the day, yet she went on to follow a suspect alone a suspect who brutallly murder his victim and she made a comment about the perpetrator is a demon due to the brutality of the murder. Yet she just followed the man without alarming her own investigator, just to be again attacked.
I also couldn't stand their bickering that mostly unnecessary and annpying. I couldn't imagine in real life in SK a rookie prosecutor could do that to not just a senior by age but also professionaly he's more senipr and he has different expertise and experienced at that than her. I mean i do not agree the hierarchy thing in SK that is sometimes led to abuse of authority, still that is a reality in SK and on real life situation, that probably won't happen.
But the good thing is from all those bickering they learned to work together and resolving cases and well she's not getting any worse, I mean the writer probably wanted to show her development from being a rookie into someone better, she's too enthusiastic and idealostic and lack experience thus made mistakes and misjudgement to someone more mature and more restrained. But I kinda like her guts, and how she speaks her mind even when it is in annoying way, and she actually learn to not jump into concusion just by seeing what is in front of her. And her ability to remember things she had seen. She gets better and to see how gut feeling and rational thinking could actually supporting each other when we can put them on the same direction. Gut feelings and sense of justice alone are not enought, it needs inteligent mind as well and a good team work for sure. And the only sad thing about this drama is they made the police like an errand boys for the prosecutors which is again too much.
If you do couldn't stand FL here in S1 you can go to S2. She's actually a very nice character and charming without all the bickering with ML and her first court-date experience. If you can ignore all that, the cases themselves pretty interesting. I just skip all the non-sense bickering mostly and just focus on how the investigation parts and court parts.
It's good one, like its title it is about connections and how the characters in it see what they think as "friendship".…
Well it is a relative thing, what one enjoy doesn't mean someone else also will enjoy it. And I couldn't really say I enjpy it as this drama gave you differeny feelings that I wouldn't enjoy in real life. So what I can say is I go through the drama anf tried to feel everything it made me feel and well, looking back on my old schooldays memories, it made me miss them old friends and wonder how are they doing now. I basically lost contact with most of my old friends, but this drama really made me want to reconnect to them in one or another way again, to apprectiate the friendship we had and just to cherish them friends you have in life.
The story is really thrilling the way eqch character main or supporting see the friendship they have. Some are thrilling and some are heartbreaking, Watching this makes me miss my highschopl friendas, my best friends in highschool, all those memories. The good and the bad days, the fights and the make ups, the breaking and the mending, those days when you learned to find yourself as a friend to someone, or to be friend to someone.
The story miggt be so dramatic but i really teaches us about friendship and how be a friend. That friendship based on money, social statua and greed (in whatever form) will alwaya fall apart and not just that it always ruin someone. And also to value ypur friends as they are, with all their good and bad.
It's thrilling, but also heartbreaking, as well as heartwarming you get all those feelings watching this.
And for acting, Ji Sung is always great, but I would give kudos to Kwon Yul. He's such a versatile actor. His character can make you feel charmed and enchanted in some dramas, and some would creep you out, and some would anger you or make you hate the character so much. He always nail his every role. What an actor. Alsp to Kim Kyung Nam, he's really good here and hopefully he'll get to play main roles in his future dramas.
Anyway the casts are good, idk if it's just me being non-Korean not really grasping the acting by the way they deliver the conversation, but I think Korea has many great talented actors. Even them who mostly play support roles.
It's good one, like its title it is about connections and how the characters in it see what they think as "friendship". You'll see a desperate ones, disturbed ones, distorted ones, innocent ones nd genuine ones, with all their good and bad traits Their dynamics. It's really thrilling one but also heartbreaking at times, but you get to see which one fall apart and which one restored. Give it a try.
One of few dramas where we can be satisfied with a solid police teamwork. Lkke even the ML police is dominant still he's not overshadowing the teamwork.
Though it is indeed predictable but the way it is presented and how they un-tangled each case one by one layer by layer to the very last person is what makd this drama great imho.
And I like that we don't see too much over-exposure or over-dramatic frusfration of the FL and 2Fl, but they are presented as strong persons who despite their hurt and pain can maintain their common sense and willingness to contribute and help without emotional fuss here and there. They acfually being open to each other about what they feel and move on with figuring out how to find the truth together, being supportive to each other. It is not frustrating to watch. No one of them is keeping things to themselves but like communicating whatever they find so no one is kept on the dark.
So it is not a frustrating drama to watch. Great acting and casts too.
It is really insulting
imho.
We saw dramas about people who murder others just because their personal justification, or they used to be oppressed and abused, etc so many kind of stories, but that doesn't make the drama normalising murder or violence or abuse in anyway.
Anywau have a good time and peace 😉
I don't think the drama is justifying cheating but more about how they deal with cheating. Friends are there not to judge her but help her realising ot herself, friends are not there to execute judgment also on her, but help her overcome and fix her.own mistakes. And that is I think a proper things. I don't see anything about justifying cheating, as it can never be justified no matter what the reason or excuse is. They just tried to understand her excuse or reasoning , tried to understand her. But it doesn't mean they justify it in anyway.
