Nice mini series. Thank you Viki for picking up Under the Gun. (Zuho has such a resemblance to Lee Joon-gi that I couldnât get LJG out of my mind lol).
Sorry to say but I jumped ship during episode 12. I really liked Yu He Wei and Bai Yu Fan but I didnât think I could take almost 30 more episodes of Zhou Linâs harping about acquiring wealth.
This reminds me of a different drama that I have seen but I don't remember the name.. But I am excited for this…
I joked that this drama originally started out as the Korean remake of the great Jdrama on Netflix: House of Ninjas but was transformed into the drama we will be getting.
I have watched and enjoyed the first six episodes and very broadly I get a Misaeng: Incomplete Life (2014) feel for City of the City. Instead of international trading we are in the world of banking/finance. Bai Yu Fan ( so good as the young constable in Ripe Town (2023)) here takes on the roll of bank employee newbie something akin to the role Siwan had in Misaeng. Yu He Wei (terrific as as the detective trying to unravel the mystery in the sci-fi Three-Body (2023)) take on the roll of senior bank executive that is something akin to the role Lee Sung-min had in Misaeng. Just a feeling I have. I hope there is enough material for 40 episodes. One issue I see is with banking/financial terminology. Anyway early days in the drama and I am glad I found it.

Thanks for the link. The article says âall episodes released simultaneouslyâ. I canât find out how many episodes this drama will have. The title must be a play on the MLâs characterâs name: Go Gun.
Poker is an unusual setting for a drama so I will definitely check it out. Because South Korea has rather stringent gambling regulations I will be interested in learning how poker fits in.
