My kind of love story
Indeed...it's my kind of story. Love Yang Mi and Li YiFeng in this simple and sweet love story between Su Xing Yu and Tian Xin. They both fallen in love in the beginning of their career - a humble 'instrument tuner for a rock band with the band's assistant'. They got separate because Su Xing Yu went to England for further education while Tian Xin pursued further her dream job as an artist manager, Tian Xin broke up with Su XingYu over the long distance phone call because she thought she hold him back. 5 years later, they met again when Tian Xian applied a new post as artist manager where already famous XingYu's office representative, so happened he had dispute with his manager Mei and choose Tian Xian (who new on the job) to be his manager instead to proved Mei that Tian Xin would do a better job in managing his most interest in music. They rekindle their feeling after plane turbulence and got pictured by a paparazzi. Mei, the ex manager, bought the pictures from the paparazzi to save them from scandal with the conditional that Tian Xin quit from the job. Tian Xin agreed and left the job, home, town....left the man she loved for the sake of XingYu's reputation. XingYu once again heart broken and devastated with their second separation (broke up). In the award, he gave a very touching speech in how much he miss his love and ask her to meet him in their 'long ago promise' designated spot. They met and live happily ever after.
What critics don't know...this kind of love story is very enjoyable as we hope to have our own happy ending with the person we love. As critic said this was'plot a "mediocre pic" that was reduced to an unrealistic romantic dross' we don't want to other complicated serious drooling bore of a love story. So, I love it.

Voted for Zhao LuSi best couple
Zhao LuSi is always taking in role from modern life transported to ancient time and this is another one of them. No matter, Zhao LuSi also always won my heart with her beautiful smile and cute face. I like June Wu (Xiao Bai) better than the other guy main lead Li Hong Yi (Shenguan Qie Yue) because he's creepy although he's devious manipulative cruel bad guy..he has a soft spot for Chun Hua. The other hand, Xiao Bai was an influenced-up-right straight face boring fiance of Chun Hua while she believed he's the one for the love her life. Her choice was either the boring one (but kind of handsome) or the creepy devious one (but lead more interestingly life). The companions Liu YiTong (Qin LiuFeng) and the other two skinny girls were just hang out there, contributing nothing to the wealth of main lead characters. I watched on and off, skipped episodes, just to get to the end of story and how disappointed I was when Chun Hua were rather spend her life with the creepy guy. Heard that LuSi always have good chemistry with her leading men but not this one so I still voted Zhao LuSi's best couple were with Zheng YiCheng, Ryan Ding, or Liu YuNing....Was this review helpful to you?

The first of trilogy
Don't read the book of Qian Yu Nian, it isn't as good as the drama. Zhang Ruo Yun is an excellent pick for Fan Xian, he's amazing for the role. He's intelligent, witty, smart, loyal, loves beautiful women. He's the master of poison, medical, strategics, fight, ambassador (man, he's good in argument and making deals) he has nothing that he is not good at, picture of a perfect gentleman and example of the best scholar in the whole kingdom. I love every characters; Fan Xian, Fei Jie, Fan RuoRuo, Fan Si Zhe, Chen PingPing, the emperor Qing, Gao Da, Wang QiNian, Feng Jie, Haitang DuoDuo, Si Lili, Yan BingYun, Yan XiaoYi, Shen Zhong just to name a few. Unfortunately, I don't really like Lin Wan'Er, she's the weakest character that seems like to hold Fan Xian back, and I don't think she's the perfect girl to be his bride/the love of his life. My personal opinion, Haitang Duoduo is more up to Fan Xian's standard although in the book they'd have an affair together but not end to marriage (Wtf..) my lovable character was Wang QiNian and Gao Da...I want them to have more air time. Fighting scene was close to real, we can see Fan Xian being thrown and hays/dust/dirt all over him, we can also see Zhang Ruo Yun got sun burned at rock forest (fight scene) which looked so real. I love it when he recited 1000 poems in front of people (iconic scene - won the title as a poetry God), poisoned Haitang Duoduo with love poison, he climbed on to of moving buggy to challenge every men in Qi's kingdom. Fan Xian shone when he representing his country to Northern Qi. laid strategy to one step ahead of Shen Zhong. Yan Bing Yun (Xiao Zhan) was a skinny lad...in the book he'll be a trusty right hand of Fan Xian but I don't know about the drama, he stabbed him at the end. I was like...wth??? Come on....I want a better ending than this. Looking forward for Season 2 soon (NTBA) and season 3 (NTBA) to finish up trilogy. Faster please....Was this review helpful to you?

TALKING ABOUT MARK CHAO
This is one of my favorite drama. I would say Yang Mi and Mark Chao meant to play this drama because they're compatible in chemistry and performance. Sound tract was amazing. By watching this drama, you'll be hoping to have a great love story of your own. One thing that I don't like was visual effect, too much imaginary flashes although it's understandable since it supposedly out of this world - supposedly in heaven where Gods and Goddesses resides that has super power. Mark Chao were brilliant portraying both Mo Yuan and Ye Hua, their love to Bai Qian were pretty devoted and last eternally (yes, I think Mo Yuan has loved Bai Qian way long before Ye Hua too). Bai Qian had temper and attitude problem, she's a beautiful Goddess but don't mess around with her heart, look to what happened to Li Jing or even Heaven Crown Prince Ye Hua would get reprimanded. Her devotion to Mo Yuan was admirable, with his coma in so many thousand years, she took care his body hoping he'd come back which happening. But their relation had changed, not just he (Sin Jin) was actually a girl but also she had a son as well as a husband (fiancee) - the dynamic different and relationship far behind to catch up.Mark Chao as Mo Yuan/Ye Hua was an excellent cast. A reserved dignify Crown Prince that express himself very little but intensity on his feeling, love once and hell with the rest of women. He could express his character in disgust, hate, stillness, regret and sad perfectly. No one could act the way Mark Chao perform as a serious (reserved) noble person, some actors need to learn his acting (as most acted like spacing out blank expression) while Mark has deeper expression in his eyes (glare, glance, happy, seriousness, anger, no nonsense) to communicate with his apposite. His lips could also indicate his feeling to his character. Mark doesn't have the beauty of God (maybe Yang Yang or Xiao Zhan can vouch for this type) but we all could relate to him, he's down to earth and charismatic (noble aura), he did an excellent job.
Bai Feng Jiu obsession to Dong Hua was tiring, in my opinion Dilraba's acting is not great as what her fans thought - She fakes everything like annoying baby brat voice & forced cried. Su Jin and Xuan Nu were worthy opponent for Bai Qian to win back their men, these bad s**t women fight to the teeth for love - all tricks and lies just to get rid of the common enemy. I love Si Ming and Lian Song, fluently delivering their dialog with spark in their eyes and smile in their lips. This drama became classic to me...

BEAUTIFUL SETTING
Luo Jin and Yi LiTong were great in this drama....he loved her without knowing her face, the interaction was done behind the screen - her intelligent and voice attracted him, and he proposed marriage but rejected by her father (who happen to be his teacher) for reason of her 'well being'. Very unfortunately, it didn't happen and Lu WenXi (Li YiTong) went to service at the palace as a maid to help her brother/father out of jail because of the crime they didn't commit. I felt like the Crown Prince (Luo Jin) should have intelligent like no others but this one was pretty naive almost stupid. He didn't use smart tactics, his brusque action costed him punishments. Nothing's good came out from his actions, more heart breaking and short sighted. And the damn Crown Prince didn't learn from it, the next decision he made cost people jail. I sighed a lot watching this....a lot of emotional scenes product of his naivety and stubbornness. A lot of punishment scenes, beating, kill, house-arrest, poisons, all that to prove something done wrong by the Crown Prince. Xiao DingTang (Jin Han) the jealous brother ambitious to take Crown Prince title and most favored by the Emperor, wasn't favor by me - his devious schemes made me want to slap him on the face - that's include the Emperor. Too bad Jin Han's acting was at best 'kissing ass' a lot so since this I don't care to watch Jin Han's future dramas.Last episode though, finally the Crown Prince proved himself worthy and his brother, the 'kissing ass' prince got shacked away. He finally found out the girl that he first fallen in love with was the trusty maid that's been on his side all along. But as she wanted to take revenge of the death of her innocent brother and father, she got send out to prison. Crown Prince cleared her family name by proving that family was being misjudged for political reason. He ran to her mansion to see her when the snow falling and they reunited...in embrace, promise, and kisses.
The set was beautiful, costumes were amazing, love the soundtracks, great acting from the lead actors, Zheng YiCheng part wasn't much...they could actually develop his part as his character was a positive one but the production preferred to emphasis the saddest parts of whole characters. The ending was good though...happily married and growing family...can't get over the romantic song 'To win a heart so dear'

Compilation My Heroic Husband to Joy of Life
Most of actors were from drama Joy of Life. Gao Qi Lin and Song Yi were brother and sister while Gao Shu Guan was their dad. Kind of creepy when you know these were sibling in Joy of Life while in this drama they are husband and wife...now that Joy of Life is in the process of filming season 2-3...they'll be back again to original roles as sibling. That's just twist things in between roles (come on....make it right!). This is like a group syndicate of Zhang RuoYun and party, they hired same casts for different dramas, like they've contract from the same agency to act with the same people (and similar base line of story).Anyway, I love Gao Qi Lin, he's adorable. Cheerful smile and delivered his dialog fluently. He's awesome as a little brother, in this drama though he's a husband married into wife's family, who knew that he's so super intelligent that help establish wife's business (and later into politic) with modern strategic ideas. The main idea of story line was like another type of Joy of Life background, a modern man in which time traveled back to many dynasties ago, who used their knowledge and wisdom to the advantage in ancient times. Joy of Life is my favorite drama but I am not so fond watch same old same story line...then...I dropped it. The more I watched it the more stupid the story become...there's no mystery there...at the beginning it's funny and fun but not at all when the episode progress...

WATERMELON....SUGAR!
Surprisingly this is a good drama, the best of this drama was the casts. Everyone had genuine smiles and great collaboration between them. I would give credit to the main actors who made this drama special.Ryeoun as Ha Eun-gyeol
The only hearing person in a deaf family (Mom, Dad, & older Brother). Eun-gyeol was a perfect model student by day, but at night he lead a double life as a talented guitarist in a band. After having an argument with his father, where his father learned of his musical interest, he time slipped to 1995 and met his parents when they were Junior in High School. He surprise to know that his dad wasn't deaf but a hot-blooded youth whose in love with a girl from Seowon Arts HS, Choi Se-kyung: a student major in cello not his mother. Eun-Gyeol also learned there's accident causing his father lost his hearing and stirred his attention to the deaf girl Yoon Cheong-ah as he knew her as his mother. He strive to create a different outcome of his parent's future and to avoid the accident. ***Ryeoun was a delight to watch, he's not only great play guitar but also sign language, it wasn't fake sign language - no! He knows it well. His expression was excellent & great smiles, speech deliverance is awesome.
Choi Hyun-wook as Ha Yi-chan
A hot-blooded youth whose worry nothing but so cheerful and confident. He lives with his grandmother who owned an accommodation house named Snail House. He's in love with beautiful Choi Se-kyung: the cello goddess of Seowon Arts High School. Choi Hyun-Wook made a bet with Se-kyung he would be in a band and made her girlfriend. The bet was on, but out of the blue a crazy boy Ha Eun-Gyeol show up challenged him of her heart. With some reason that strange boy Ha Eun-Gyeol kept follow, helping & protect him. He finally warmed-up to him and they became good friend. ***Choi Hyun-wook is full of energy, has beautiful voice, good in play guitar.
Seol In-ah as Choi Se-kyung / On Eun-yoo
Se-kyung was a person considered to be everyone's muse with her beauty, talent and elegant aura, but she would have an unhappy marriage that made her a controlling mother to her only daughter On Eun-Yoo. Eun-Yoo was on the same situation as Eun-Gyeol, she determined to change her mother's love life so she would have a happy marriage, she looked for the man of her mother's first love. Eun-Yoo and Eun-Gyeol had an understanding to help each other shaping different destiny for their parent. ***Seol In-Ah beauty and sunshine character are significant with character she's portraying.
All ends well, great drama.

IAM BEING CHEATED BY WISHFULNESS
When I got to the end of series, I felt like I am being cheated by Hua Qian. At first I thought 'Scent of Time' is another drama version 'Story of Kunning Palace', a story of reborn woman whose redeeming her mistakes to her new life but there's a twist that makes it different from other. The tragic love between 4 individuals Zhong Xi Wei, Hua Qian, Zhong Ye Lan & Mu Yao. Beginning episode Hua Qian was being hunted by soldiers and witnessing the dead of her mother and brother. She's collapse and wake up in different reality on the time marrying Zhong Ye Lan, the man she's fallen in love with since childhood. Hua Qian realize then that she's reborn and determine to redeem her mistakes from previous life so instead of being a jealous and hateful wife, she tries to reconnect her husband Zhong Ye Lan to his childhood love Mu Yao, she approves her to be concubine and demand divorce for herself. Hua Qian comes clean for all the wrong doing and determine to be a nice person to people around her. While Zhong Xi Wei is still in love even after her marriage to his brother, as the head of Zhong family he happily agrees to give divorce degree so he can pursue her as a single woman. As taboo as it sounds, a divorcee woman can't remarry the brother of ex-husband. He pursue her tirelessly...convince her that he'd be there if she would just trust him. Besides all the disputes between Hua & Mu family, fragrant big family business, death of love ones, hatred and misunderstanding, also appearance of faithful lowly guard Hua Rong Zhao (Zhang Yi Jie) as her sole console and protector in her position.Hua Qian's desperation is the fruit of hope to start her miserable life all over again, admitting mistakes as a new person . Curiously this drama should be ended in ep 26 but no...continue to more lighter version to finally grand finale. I like Zhong Xi Wei (Wang Xing Yue) here although Xing Yue has been taking similar character in his other dramas (Zhang Zhe in Story of Kunning Palace & Liu Zixing in One and Only) the guy with irreconcilable love, in this drama though he's more stellar to fight for the woman he loves. Wu Shuo Mo (Li Yun Rui) is outstanding, better than his role the Last Immortal, he can take role both coarse or dignify (in LLtG) character as his next project. Hua Qian (Zhao Ye) though isn't too convincing in few of scenes (drunk scenes and traumatic life experience scene on last episode) her dimple is so pretty when she smiles. Sadly, none of them smile. I find this despondent love story is beautiful...we implore emotion in love, regret, hope, struggle, trust just to be forgiven.
What I like about this drama?
* Beautiful costumes in my favorite dynasty with little hair ornaments and bare make up
* All actors are collaborating nicely, great supporting actors, love the OST
* Unusual plots and twist in very creative story telling
* It's a beautiful tragic love stories with happy ending
Last episode Hua Qian says sober farewell to Hua Rong Zhao as she go back to consciousness after 26 months coma where she's been recreating her imaginative longing different life as the real life struck in bitter facts that she has to deal with. All 29 episodes are wishful aspiration from a woman who realize many flaws and errors she committed but there is a man who won't give up on her and love her no matter what. Whispering calling his name soft 'Zhong Xi Wei'.......he's so happy. That's love.

CONTINUAL PLOTS FROM SEASON 1
I was kind of predicted that Joon-Ho (Jung Hae-In) would deserted the ARMY from how he doubted himself on Season 1. So, it was predictable but with different angle to solve run-away soldiers or continual problem of the system. Basically, the change won't happen when the upper level officials keep blind eyes. When bullying persists and officials close their eyes to the suffering, soldiers bond to give up and one result is running away from the bad situation they're in. It started when a soldier Kim Ru Ri killed the whole squad in shooting spree, injured many and killed a few. He got caught back under security but found out Army covered the incident with possibly wrongful time decease - for the fact few more were died due to delaying rescue because of bureaucratic system of chain in command. Ahn Joon-Ho had the UB-file to prove the wrong doing, being chased by the people to hand down the evidence. He maneuver people around him to win the on-going case in court, got beaten up.Not as many Deserters as the first season but more horrific plots. If Season 1 & Season 2 combined was more likely one regular Korean drama, The development of the characters were evolving, Joon Ho's supervisors matured in handling crisis, took risks to prevent the system's mistakes. There's an indication that might have Season 3 as Han Ho-Yul leaved ARMY for good while Joon-Ho was still continue his service. Jung Hae-In was great maintaining his charm in boyish tough look. I think he looked better in here than any other of his dramas. Little comic added lightness to this drama....

NO GUNS, ONLY BOXING JABS
This lesson is for people not to borrow money from the loan-sharks. full packed action, great fighting skills, amazing collaboration between actors, and good plots. Geon-Woon (Woo Do-Hwan) was capable to punch men right on the face, a kind-heart amateur boxer fought against Woo-Jin in local ring, the two bonded together with a benevolent moneylender to take down a ruthless loan shark who preys on the financially desperate people. Story began when Geon Woon's pitiful mom borrowed money from a loan-shark and got attack because she couldn't pay back the money she borrowed, in order to save her Geon Woon need to get money to pay them back, with the help of Woo-Jin's connection he got a job as a bodyguard with 2 years advance pay to paid off mom's debt. His job was to watch over his employer's grand daughter that has been watching the operation of syndicate thief as they used it to taking loans using homeless men's ID.Apparently the operation connected to bigger scale of loan sharks. People they care died as they saw it to find justice for them. Don't see gun use in the drama, lots of hit punch jabs, which is awesome. Woo Do-Hwan built as tough as a boxer but his bright smiles proved his naive character, innocent young men who would fight to powerful loan-shark just because.
Skills and fight were real.

ORIGINAL SYNOPSIS
What I like about this? Original story, different synopsis from any C-drama, Tan Jian Ci and collaboration of the casts, ordinary people with real contribution in life. One of good drama in 2022....trust me on this.1. Original story, different synopsis from any C-drama
Shen Yi (Tan Jian Ci) was still an art student when a man came to ask a drawing what a child would look like as an adult. He did so well that later caused the death of an undercover agent Lei Yi Fei. A young policeman Du Cheng (Jin Shi Jia) was raging mad of Shen Yi, he accused him for the cause of the death of his long-time friend and mentor. Out of guilt, Shen Yi accepted the invitation of Director Zhang of the Public Security Bureau and became a portraitist of the Interpol Team in five years later. By that order Du Cheng had to accept reluctantly Shen Yi to became a colleague with annoyance and uncooperative assistance toward Shen Yi’s drawing to solve cases, and the two became the “ticking bomb” in the team. The strange thing is that, no matter how hard Shen Yi tried of recall for a few years, he couldn't draw the face of the man who asked him to paint the child's photo. Eventually, Shen Yi helped out to uncover many mystery of crimes with his drawing including the biggest case of his involvement 5 years earlier.
2. Tan Jian Ci and collaboration of the casts
As a talented criminal sketch artist (Forensic Artist) he's a character that could translate details from witnesses at the crime scene, to make sketches that police and the public may use to identify and capture criminal suspects. Teaming with Du Cheng (Jin Shi Jia) was kind of frienamy - they knew they're depending to each other and respect their own field but because of mistrust and grudge, Du Cheng found it hard to get along with him. Lots time working solo, Shen jin forced to endure 'cold reception' from the team until proven to be successful. All the casts did well, Tan Jian Ci acted he's the real artist.
3. Ordinary people with real contribution in life.
All actors didn't have visibly make up like they're just ordinary people that doing their job well in real life; sweating, panting, running, angry, protest all done convincingly just like the real investigators.

IT'S AN OK
A female prosecutor who mastered in kicking ass, law, 4 languages, as well manipulation. She started from the bottom to get where she was, she strive to find the killer of her grandmother's hit and run car accident that lead her to the bigger scheme of big establishments which included prosecutor who ignore investigation her Grandmother's hit & run. Losing her memory after a car accident, she woke up in the family of strangers that treated her like s**t, that use her for bargaining chip for the family, later found out she's identical look alike of a heir daughter in law Kang Mi-Na. While Cho YeonJoo tried to figure out who she's, she managed to get to know cousin in law (Han SeongWook) who happened to be in love with the real MiNa but realized the girl in front of him definitely was not her. Seong Wook just came back to Korea to discover who's behind the horrific death of his father's as well as the heir of biggest share holder of Yumin company where Kang Mi-Na hold 32% after the plane accident that befallen into her family. The real Kang Mi-Na on the run to China, went into plastic surgery to change her entire face, planning to come back to fight her inheritance - to bad her character was pretty weak - big ambition without action. Nothing but substance....nothing but failure to her after all the shitty things she had to endure from in-laws.The collaboration between them uncovered the greed of Han family, corruption of Prosecutors, mismanagement of company, as well as family dynamic. It's good drama, finished it within a week, not a memorable one but watchable. I like Honey Lee the FL, she's a better Korean actress and comical.

GOOD DRAMA - RECOMMEND IT
Surprisingly this is a good drama, I gave rewatch value 9 just because I've watched this drama 4X over, just because I love it. The main story was about a plane accident that related to giant insurance company and aviation company that found a scapegoat to one of the pilot. The brother of the scapegoat (dead) pilot and a husband of two of the dead passengers worked together to solve who's the instigator - to be the blame of that horrific plane accident. As they're working together with the help of a team, they finally found the answer of bereavement. Started as competitive stranger, ending with brotherhood that have their back.I love all the characters, they're fun to watch, the tricks and trips packed of actions. If want to watch some action and wittiness so this is it! It wasn't a serious drama but nor light one...

LIANG YI, QIN YAN, QIU XIAO, QIN MIN
Jeremy Tsui (Liang Yi) has thick makeup, we can see how heavy the make up which was awful. He has such a handsome face, the make up didn't do him justice, should be fired that make-up artist. He didn't look natural at all, his face (the best asset) covered with the thickness of face foundation - could see foundation line on the edge of his lip - he didn't look healthy. Qin Yan was cute, natural beauty and they both have a great chemistry but when she acted 'sad, concern' she appeared like 'grimace' which didn't look good on her. She's a tall girl which unusual for female in costume drama, she's care-free which uncalled for to the period of supposedly time. The best of all is the chemistry between Lead actors as the loving interaction was genuine and comfortable to each other. I like the story, all intertwined and flowing (if avoid water-fill stories) there were twists which unpredictable at the end of story, and every actors did a good job taking parts in their roles.Even for Qin Min, she's beautiful but she's such a bore! Self pity, unwise, selfish, weak, coward, all things that I despise in any character. Wayne Liu (Qiu Xiao) did good with his character, kind of soft and kind heart man - not the right man for Qin Yan to choose. The Emperor was an easy target, didn't have influence or weight in governing country. All in all is a good drama but there're water-filled story in between episodes such as Qin's Women in Royal Academy, it's on and on about Qin Min plastering Qiu Xiao like we're ready to knock her head into sense. The sweetness relationship between Liang Yi & Qin Yan is admirable, they shown their affection openly and his Mom blessing their union. The ending is sweet...

RARE SYNOPSIS
I thought at first I am going to be bored with this drama, an Asperger young man that has above normal intelligence, works for his dad a Trauma Cleaner 'Move to Heaven' company that pack items left by the deceased - with bow for respect the dead they box in meaningful personal belongings and get rid of the rest - a service that goes beyond what's expected. They'd be able to tell the story of the diseased to pass it on to their family. Geo Ru's father passes on, his uncle Sang Koo becomes the guardian of him with condition that he has to work at the company and live with him. Although Sang Koo has issues, went to jail for illegal underground fight, his demeanor is 'care less - hell with everything' does not bound well with Geo Ru's habitual and repetitive behavior. This is the type of rare story line that we don't see, very interestingly there is called a Trauma Cleaner - a service to provide clean up what dead people left behind. Different cases has different uniquely background stories when the diseases were still alive. The synopsis is their personal stories, the family (or none) that they left behind; unspoken wishes and hopes, sadness, love or hate, regret and abandonment. A dirty work that emotionally burdened, personally I won't do their job. It's a very touching not from the main actors but mostly from the supporting actors who portrays the dead people. Not matter how good this drama I don't think i can rewatch it....the kind of drama that you only want to watch once.
