Agreed. Though its a 'fantasy novel', TongHua woven each character, via taking traits from real life. She not going to be proud of their incoherent, misleading claims, trying to represent opposite her novel original message, which is hinted by its title 'Zhang Xiang Si'. She herself prefers, title, 'Eternally Yearning for You'. Its no joke.

I'm glad they kept this scene, as even being one of the main lead, Xiangliu have least screen time.

Author's intention with Xiangliu being XY's soulmate & lover, was also to depict true meaning of being loyal, strong, hardworking, selfless, caring, loving & determined in life. That's why, majority of viewers genuinely likes Xiangliu which, some utterly blind Jing fans fails to accept or see. I guess, those Jing fans, complaining, attacking other leads, from S1, won't be saying same, if not Xiangliu but Jing done all those things for XY. I doubt, if they will ever stop. Their mocking and lack of respect, makes Xiangliu saving Jing a mistake.

I'm baffled, how some Jing fans taking its 'fantasy drama ending' seriously, while ridiculing & mocking other lead love & sacrifices. Be reasonable. See, barely able to survive on his own, TushanJing is rich but incompetent man, fails to be responsible, can't even keep a penny in his pocket. If possible, those Jing's fans should try to accept man like Jing in reality, maybe they will realize, that XY choice is infact, cause of her psychological traumas (even author said), which led to her with flawed man.

Well, to be fair, Jing is technically a failed husband to FFYY, failed father to his son. He tainted XY image by abandoning his son behind. XY choice is cause of her psychological traumas (even author said), which led to her with a flawed man, who is perfect in sense of being 'nothing'. In end, XY as working woman had to support Jing's weak, pitiful self, clinging to her skirt.

Xiang liu has 9 lives. [SPOILER] Its speculated, XL lost 1 life in childhood while escaping from 'Slave match'. In Maze Attack, he used 1 life to save XY, took care of her 37 yrs. Later XL used another life to revive her, when she died again. He stabbed his heart to remove his 'Lover bug' (said to lost another life here), XY won't get any backlash if anything happens to XL in battlefield. In end, XL was tired & injured, but CX & his army still fails to win against XL, so they killed him with 1000 arrows. XL is an amazing character. He deserves another chance to live.

What's meaning of having a dream sequence? Inbetween changing & butchering many scenes, seems production itself isn't sure, what its wants to show. Seriously Season2 is one of the most disappointing live adaptation but not its CGI, Osts and leads performance, Yangzi, Tan jianci and Zhang wanyi nailed it.

Xiangliu is her soulmate & lover. [Spoiler] 'Lover's bug' is proof of their feelings. They can't be together as XY & XL belongs to different political sides. XY is a princess while XL is poor orphan demon slave, now serving as general to forster father. Story is complicated. XL's life is dangerous so, doesn't tell her his feelings and protects her silently. He made sure, XY can live safely, even if he isn't there. He died being loyal to his love and duty. Sadly, she will never know, how much XL loves & did for her.

Aside from powers, Xiang liu drinks poison so if he died then his enemy won't able to use his body (as being powerful 'Nine-headed demon snake') for their greeds in anyway. You have noticed, he roams wearing white, making himself clear target, taking most of the harm.

Tjc is not a side character. 'Special Starring' doesn't mean guest, support or side character. Infact, XL is one of a main leads in novel/drama, so is Tjc.

To be fair, [Spoiler] Xiang liu did choose her when, he answered, that he will choose this path again cause here he met her. He didn't want her be conflicted cause of CX and him. That's why, XL never told her, how much he loved & did for her. Its too late when XY gets to know, that he already died.

No offense. I'm not accusing you. Some people will take it wrong for no reason, create issues, which unfortunately happens when a big drama airs. On Weibo already some absurd issues and fights are happening. Everyone can have their own opinion. Both are amazing artists, and I myself prefers getting their character get together in end.

Actually XL made everything look like dealing. He knew, no matter whatever he do for others, they will always misjudge him, just cause he's a demon. Xiang liu's only condition for XY was to be alive and live well. He understood her, fulfilled her wish. He didn't even took credit for saving XY & Jing. Sadly, she will never know, how much XL loved and did for her.

For Xiang liu/FFB as CangXuan became king, so [SPOILER] she feel more anxious for oncoming conflict & war. She had habit of making medicine whenever feels stressed. Its clear she fear losing 'love' more than 'death'.
