Starting this bc Bai Lu and Wang Xingyue are finally gonna have a drama as the leads 👀 I'm so excited 😍🫣🔥 I'm sure to get SLS oof so I'm glad I decided this one after One and Only which I finished last month bc going from this to OaO would've been... not the greatest LOL... since I'd go from loving WXY to hating him (his character) skfjdsjkfs
Finished it and wow what a gem this one is. I can't believe it's so underrated omg... It deserves more love. One of the best xianxias I've watched honestly. Oh how I will miss this one dearly... What a journey this one has been for me.
Omg I'm watching The Blossoming Love and I was curious who the actor was for his character as I was watching and I didn't expect it to be him like I know him from MJTY so my mind is seriously blown 😭
Still thinking about how great it would be if Yang Zi and Luo Yunxi acted as main leads in another costume drama like omg these two are in the top of my favorite actors bc they portray their emotions so well and truly become the characters they play... (I have yet to watch this tho but I heard their chemistry here is really good) :(
I'm watching the past now and I'm so happy we get to see how their past played out without any memories of their current life and that the FL experiences it so she's regaining her memories.
Okay I like the FL's relationship with both the ML and SML here. In the present life that we've been watching, her bond / chemistry with the SML didn't feel as strong or deep enough to me for some reason. There's smth about these two in their past that makes me lowkey ship them more. Maybe it's bc they've been close in the Heavenly Realm for years. And I can't help but feel for the SML with his feelings towards the FL. I think they share a beautiful (but heartbreaking) bond.
No but like I did NOT actually know the three main characters shared a past life tgt 10,000 yrs ago like dang that was quite mindblowing. What's even more mindblowing for me is that at least for the ML and SML, their present selves eventually *die* and their past selves / souls awaken. It's different how they do it tho... ML's soul gets into the body of his past self (where does his body go?) while the SML loses consciousness and his past's soul gets into his. DANG... This drama did this in such a unique way and I love it. Poor Mu Xuanling tho bc she's the only one in the present now dealing with past characters she doesn't rmr 😭
Wow the drama keeps getting better and better. The twists and turns are incredible! I am really intrigued!
I can't believe our two FLs are actually sisters omg I hope to see more bonding btw them honestly! And omg the FL being the Chaos Pearl was smth I was not expecting at all like what it's a person omg? And boy... the ML has another person looking like him like there is a connection btw them, like is it just a part of him or what? This is crazy. Super interesting and invested.
Then we have A'Bao who has been looking for her father... Little did she know it was someone working with the dark side (but I'm gonna keep my hopes up that he'll come back to the good side) :(
Also Sang Qi... I was wondering this whole time, "Wow, did she (Ningxi) deceive him this whole time when she looked innocent?" and boy did I not expect her sister did such a thing, pretending to be her, making Sang Qi misunderstand and hate Ningxi all this time and making him live a miserable life. Just awful and sad for him. I'm really happy tho that Ningxi always truly loved him. I find their love story precious and heartbreaking. :(
I also really like Wang Duo as an actor. He plays his roles well. I'll be honest tho about his character. I don't get any ounce of SLS. Just got mixed feelings with him. Such a well-written character tho with his complexity. He's really such an intriguing one. Like good job to WD really. He did well in TUS too which I just watched previously (but the script there ruined his character more).
Started this on the anniversary bc it's a drama I've been wanting to watch and man are things getting really intense…
I am intrigued by the arc of the FL losing her feelings of love. Dang she's on another level without her feelings like she's stuck in the Dark Abyss completely now. I think too there's more to her master and Gao Qiumin's mother hmm...
I wanted bingzu on our side I mean Hongey and xiaoyao side he and others handsome demon if they worked together…
Frrr they became so bad. I guess Pian Pian idk bc she alr served the Dreamshard Immortal so she had experiences not being a good person. But then with Bing Zhu I thought they were building him up as a character but instead they ruined him... It looked like he was learning from Xiao Yao too and then what happened to their bonding relationship? Nothing? Really bad writing here 😞
Started this on the anniversary bc it's a drama I've been wanting to watch and man are things getting really intense now from where I am. I am really loving it so far! One thing that I'm really scared about tho is the cliche path of the SML which I'm not liking / looking forward to 💔 Bc man am I really loving his bond with the ML but yeah I can see smth's just up with our SML oof I don't like it... (Btw pls no spoilers lol)
i'm debating on whether I should watch love of the divine tree or legend of the female general next. please help…
Oh dang LOTDT for the win. It's really well-written. The cp is one of my favorites ever! Prob the most equal pairing I've seen too! I see ur watching it now btw. How are you liking it?
Despite my rant below I overall really enjoyed this drama. The first half was actually really fun to me. I have seen many who seemed to not like it tho so I guess I'm lucky. Tho I gotta say whenever we were in the Demons' Valley... I just found it boring. What I loved about this first half was the mini story arcs of different characters which led up to the pieces of the Kunlun Mirror. They were honestly so good and really touching. They all brought me emotions. A Li, Zixiu (Taotie), the Dreamshard Immortal. Their stories I felt were told really well. Their arcs intrigued me. It def led up to the second half's story too. I liked it. I am so sad they all died tho tbh. I would've liked to have them longer tbh. I even immensely enjoyed the bond Xiao Yao and Bing Zhu shared. So what we see of them in the second half? I hated it. Bonus: Not in the first half but I really loved the bromance arc btw Jin Jr and A'Tai as well! I wished we saw them longer lol.
In the second half we finally get to see more of the main couple. I still think they should've developed their feelings well, at least for Xiao Yao. It felt all of a sudden with her feelings. But despite this I liked how they grew as a pair. It was so nice to see the FL go back in time to her different lives. I esp loved the first life they had lived tgt (final arc). It made me feel even more for Hong Ye's character than initially. Smth I still would've changed about going back tho was the FL losing all her memories and only living in the past timeline. It felt so confusing that she had her memories esp bc wouldn't it be possible for things to change (which ik didn't)? I still think it would've made me feel even more for watching their past. It felt like they were telling us the present FL's past lives are actually not different ppl at all but just the FL in her present life which doesn't look like it should be the case here. So yeah, I would've preferred her having no memories as it makes much more sense. It just felt lowkey strange to see her present self adjust into the past like that yk?
But anyways, this was really an amazing drama actually. I wasn't even expecting much but was still looking forward to it and it indeed beat my expectations! Def worth my time.
