I enjoy Gui Mudan's character song the most. But for overall songs, I like the OP song the most because it makes…
Yes I also like Gui Mudan's song! It also really suits his character a lot! Very great acting by the actor too. I am impressed.
I don't know my overall. But I really love the opening too, as well as the other battle(?) song by Shin. There's also the Fang Zhou theme song, if that's what it is, since it always plays in his scenes (春声碎), and the ballad wintery song (念水谣). Maybe these are my top. As you can tell I can't choose one 😅😂
I am really happy to hear that it's a huge success in China! It truly deserves that recognition considering the amount of work they put into this beautiful qork of art! (Still think they could've added more eps to make it even grander than it is already 😭)
For FoF, it was one of my very first dramas to watch while airing and I didn't see the flaws much when I did bc I was just so into it tbh. I think it's not the greatest plot-wise when I look back at it but it's really good character-wise—it's more of a character-driven story which I think it did tremendously well in that aspect. They def could've done better in the storytelling aspect tho sskdjksjds but despite that it's still a special drama for me and one of my favorites due to my first watch experience but also the characters hehe.
As for covers, I like to record covers (sing) for some of the OSTs in dramas and have done some in the past but I didn't upload most of them on my YT channel tbh 😭 When I cover a WoF one tho and upload it, I can def share it here so u can take a look? Hehe.
Did y'all listen to the character theme songs? Don't think it was ever discussed? Anyways now I'm curious which ones your favorites? I still can't believe they have their own theme songs but sadly didn't even play them at all (except LYX's in the drama)... it's a bummer to me when that happens 😭 It reminds me of The Untamed bc while many characters also had their own theme songs (a lot sung by the cast too), none but two of them (and overall of the entire OSTs) played... FoF is also another one of those dramas where every major supporting character have their own OST but in this one, every song playing throughout the drama which I loved.
ANYWAYS, I just went off topic there... Other than TLC's, I really love Shen Langhun, Liu Yan, and A'Shei's the most. Chi Yun's is really cute too and really feels like him and his character fr!
And then there's the other OSTs, all of which add up to like what... 20 songs in total? Omg crazy... what other drama has this many!?!? Not to mention the songs are very fitting to the drama and they're sooo good, I legit keep listening to them when I'm listening to music, no lie xD I am NOT over the drama 😩
I am terrible uploading my covers on my YT channel whenever I cover OSTs lol... but tbh this is a drama where I wanna cover some of the OSTs now 😭🙃
Gonna share what I told one of my friends about the ending who also felt sad about it (I mean, who didn't?):
I thought about everything that happened is all gone just like that, as if all the lessons learnt and memories made have disappeared. It really does feel like the worst ending. But we don't think about how even if everyone gets a HE what they might still go thru in their life. It won't just be HEA but it's likely they will still go thru struggles and learn from whatever they go thru. I still think some characters deserved to get some karma or consequence for what they did tho (Chunji being fake princess, but esp Xifang Tao for doing so many bad things, for instance).
And I really was sobbing at the thought of Tang Lici being gone, like he's gone? Well, he's not totally gone, which really made me relieved. During his final moments with Yemo, he told him "The next time we meet, you will be a mortal" smth along those lines. So we know for sure they will meet in the future!! I wish we could get a sequel to ease our minds tho ughhh but anyways I will just think "YES, THEY WILL MEET FOR SURE!" And if that's the case, I have hope that Tang Lici will meet his friends too. There's a chance his friends may meet and become friends tho (like Chi Yun and Shen Langhun) considering the encounter they had in the end)! I also don't believe that everyone's memories could just be completely wiped without any memory of Tang Lici slowly coming back to them. Idk I feel like that's impossible and that some faded memory in their heads would come to them esp if Tang Lici was very special to them?
Btw here's an easter egg that Luo Yunxi prepared at the end of the drama where the ppl who were part of his journey in some way had with them! It's like showing that there is still a connection with Tang Lici even if they don't rmr it! I find it beautiful!
As I watched I would make an attempt to read every episode discussion that I was on if I could. It's quite fun and I noticed I missed some things a few times as I do so it's nice to learn new things from the drama
Also after reading some ppl's interpretations I actually feel a bit better with the ending and it actually makes me appreciate Tang Lici's character even more now! As a Christian myself for instance, what he did was really amazing and such a thing I have to admire. Him willing to sacrifice himself so that everyone could live even when everyone will forget him.
I really like this Bible verse: [3] But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, [4] so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. —Matthew 6:3-4
It's basically saying when performing acts of righteousness or charity, you do it without seeking public recognition or praise, and instead with a pure and humble heart. This is just like Tang Lici. I admire that about him.
Tang Lici was also born as the Holy Son in the Tianren Realm. He represents someone who was born to do good in the end and he did by willingly sacrificing himself for everyone and giving them all a second chance.
this is Wuxia but every scene mostly like Xianxia I’m so confused 🙂↕️
So they marketed it as xuanhuan + wuxia, not just wuxia. How I see it is that it does have SOME xianxia elements, like the Celestial Realm for instance which u will see in later eps makes it feel like a xianxia in some way since there are gods. But to me it's not really xianxia in general. If I'm not wrong xianxias often have romance and this one has like zero. Xianxias also have like the aim for reaching immortality through cultivation and such. There are also different kinds of beings like gods, demons, spirits, etc. For wuxia, it's for the martial arts. Xuanhuan is the bigger genre which has fantasy elements with a different kind of setting and worldbuilding, more adventure, and looks to be more flexible / broad where they could mix different genres and elements in it, not limited to the xianxia elements.
For me, I really like this drama because it keeps me interested from episode to episode. In episodes 1 and 2 the…
Agreed! For me I was alr hooked (maybe bc it was a drama I was anticipating the most) and it didn't disappoint! I felt it was so interesting and also so different and unique! It also has an amazing plot which I don't see much in other dramas, where each ep gets better and better for the most part. Drama of the year for me I dare say too (ik it may not be for others which is understandable)!
Finally started watching Whispers of Fate. In episode 4, suddenly Nian Bai Yu appeared. It was a very pleasant…
Omg I watched TTEOTM long ago (when it just aired) and I never rewatched it so I honestly forgot a lot of the cast, including him (didn't even recall any but LYX and XSY)! Now after looking him up, omg... I rmr him now! I needa rewatch this drama ASAP after WoF! I already loved this drama but like I feel like I am gonna enjoy the heck out of this even more since quite a lot of the cast here also appear in WoF!!
If you want to know how fake MDL rating are and why you shouldn't base your decision on watching a drama on it.…
Agreed. I found that lately the dramas that have romance as the main thing has a high rating and I am not as into it whereas those with a more cohesive plot I enjoy more which has a lower rating (down to the 8.0 rating...) like dang... I used to think that the ratings were accurate back then but after watching dramas lately as they aired and them not correlating to my opinion a lot, I don't base my thoughts on a drama on just that number.
I could've sworn I saw someone say that Mu Ciling doesn't die... so I was waiting to see him appear again only to be disappointed... He was such an iconic and unforgettable character that I was sad 😩😭 (Not saying this drama wasn't good bc I still enjoyed it nonetheless hehe)
Do you want a more-exact interpretation? It's absolutely a happy ending, but the literary and religious references…
I'd be interested! I think about how nice it would be too to get a sequel for this bc I think it absolutely can do one but ik unfortunately we won't get it so it's up to our interpretation instead.
I was sooo devastated over the ending, but after reading some insights on it, I feel a little better about it? Also, the last ep I gotta say was pretty epic. Tho I def have mixed feelings about it and what was done.
Also Luo Yunxi mentioned that he prepared an easter egg in the very last part of the drama. Everyone has a white fox fur ball attached to them. So beautiful!
I have hope for Tang Lici bc of the very last scene with Xianzi and him as a white fox! Maybe after all it's not a SE but more symbolic. It also feels like a cliffhanger from it so I'm gonna think of my own HE from there lol.
(I've only finished ep 38) So... I'm not sure how much this has been discussed. Is there anyone here who mentioned Puzhu and their disappointment towards him? I am sorry but now... this guy is a bit too self-righteous and too naive as well. He doesn't even see what kind of person Xifang Tao is like are you kidding me? And what makes so much of the Sword Alliance treat her with respect fr? They are so stupid. Because of her, she has caused much suffering. We got Master Shao's death (Chunji was still at fault which makes me sad... but then again if it weren't for Puzhu bringing Xifang Tao to the Sword Alliance, none of this would've ever happened). And then now we have Chi Yun. Xifang Tao caused all this! Caused him to go mad and become in a similar situation as Jiang Cheng earlier in the drama, leading him to his death. Ughhh, Puzhu... I am sorry, but you have truly disappointed me and I can't forgive you for this... I can't wait for you to know what you caused due to your weakness being Xifang Tao and face that (he better face it)...

Also I think there's one person that rmrs Tang Lici: Xue Xianzi!
Do you read episode discussions? I like to read them. I went thru the ep 40 one:
