Nice but boring

Just those two words, nice and boring.
Nothing to write home about ~

It's a nicely done series, but it was so slow and boring, I wish it only had like 6 episodes with everything happening too fast, it would show everything perfectly and wouldn't be as boring.

Cast is nice, if you like the two leads you will definitely like them here, I enjoyed watching Great, I like him but his character here was too pushy and
pliable

Story is by no mean an original, you have seen it a billion times before, and this time isn't one of the best versions either, I'm even surprised the show is over 8 but anyway ~

I won't recommend it tbh, but I don't really regret picking it up, despite skipping a lot in the second half of it ~

Messy story, good everything else

I can't believe I slept on this hidden gem lol
I love the cast, TutorYim are cute but acting-wise not the best, Mark is fantastic, still never seen him as a main and I've been a fan of Willi since TTWE.
So I reluctantly started the show, didn't know that it would be one of my favourite guilty pleasures.

I have to say first, I expected messy story and I got exactly that, the whole "let's write a BL" thing and the xianxia novel inside the drama were extremely confusing, I mean, I don't know what happened there but why am I seeing repeated scenes of the xianxia novel 😂 what's going on! Is the editor high, or is it just as random as it appears to be.
But, on the other hands, I giggled a few times, the drama was so smooth, I wasn't bored while watching, the cast is easy on the eye and when it started to be boring they bombed up with NC scenes that got us on the edge of our seats.

Cast was great, I feel a little sorry for Conan, my boy had to sit still and look pretty most of the scenes, and the language barrier didn't help either, I don't know why they had to cast Chinese actors in this , is this because it's originally a Chinese novel?? Well, it doesn't matter, he was still adorable 🥰. The other guy did speak Thai I believe but it wasn't much better ~
Tutor and Yim have improved since middleman, so it wasn't as painful to watch as I expected, maybe just a little bit but it still was more enjoyable than I expected.
The thing that I didn't like but I could tolerate is the slow motion, I mean the cast are moving in X0.25 speed, I mean putting one hand in pocket or raising a glass of water to your mouth would take 2 minutes, I watched the whole thing in X2 speed and I didn't miss a word, that sums it up ~

I have to dedicate a full section in my review for ep 10, I see everyone talking about ep9 ... But helloooo!! Ep 10!!! Mark?? Anyone?? How the F**K did everyone just ignore the 10th episode!! Holy butt!!! I was.. speechless!!.... F**KING MARK SORNTAST BUANGAM!!!!!! Boy!! why aren't you getting any main roles yet FFS!!!!??? Holy mother of squishy asses!! I mean, it was impressive .... The ep I mean *wink*wink* ...
I admit I had to check Gems's age a few times because I panic when I see young actors playing daring roles, and I thought he was too young for NC scenes, fortunately he's old enough, also what made me more nervous is my baby was all smiles for the whole series and he had to CRY RIVERS when he started to make out with Pie, then the great reveal!!! No Sh*t ! I thought i'd be traumatised!!!!!! Then ep 12 came, and I'm definitely traumatised!!! But not for the same reason 😂😂

Now moving on, (yes, please) I think this deserves more recognition because I found it purely by chance, I mean, I thought I would rate it a 5-ish 6 ... Now it's almost 8 ... I call that The Mark effect😂
All in all, it's a fluffy, completely ridiculous, very random, with asses that definitely worth watching, if you're ok with that, give it a go ~

Entertaining

It's a very enjoyable movie that tackles a very serious matter.

It ends on a very optimistic note that making the whole thing very likable and leaves a feeling of satisfaction and happiness that eventually justice prevailed.

Acting from everyone special Ryusei was spectacular, I loved how he was able to show a wide range of emotions through his eyes.

Overall very nice movie, slightly unrealistic in a good way. Highly recommended ~

One of the best I've watched this year

I love Yamapi and basically anything he is in.
This was a very lovely and romantic movie, story is very simple, rely mainly on raw emotions, represented very well and the cast was all very impressive.

The two leads chemistry is spectacular!! I'm surprised a little since I couldn't picture them together at first but once both are on screen, wow it's like they are meant for eachother, they carry their characters very well.

I just didn't like one thing, the FL had to cry a lot ... And I mean A LOT in almost every scene if she isn't smiling beautifully, she is bawling her eyes ~
Also the very last minute switch that solves all the problems just like that *snap fingers* I mean could you at least show us how and why everything had ended the way it did because it's a very last minute thing ~

I recommend this movie if you are a fan of romance and don't mind a little drama, with a very fitting couple and great acting ❣️

Amazing

I have a soft spot for Taiwanese BL, somehow they succeed in making them very light and comforting.

This one is no exception, it's very light, despite having it all, drama, romance, comedy, a little bit of action too, even deep messages and trauma if you want, all whole being very short and entertaining.

Acting wise it's ok, average, don't expect some ground shaking performances, they did well enough to make it watchable and in some parts ever very enjoyable.

The story is simple, it has some very silly moments and also some deep emotional ones, Overall you can't take it too seriously I believe that's what it's all about, to show depths within the story without being too dramatic.

The few things I didn't like were unavoidable, they are literally in every Taiwanese BL I've ever seen, like shoving every actor ever acted in a BL into the series, be it a cameo or a small role,
you have BL in your résumé, you're automatically in!
Underdeveloped story and very marginalized side characters, with many illogical moments to raise an eyebrow for.

So simply put to enjoy this you have to shut your mind completely, and I have to admit this was very entertaining to me, I loved the second couple a lot and I wanted to see more of them, sadly they had little interaction except for like that last 2 episodes maybe.

If you love Taiwanese BL you'll love this one~

Watch it for Narimiya Hiroki

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will watch anything, literally anything with Narimiya Hiroki in it and I'll enjoy it!!
That's how much I LOVE him, I'm incapable of hating anything he is in it, I can't, I just can't.

Now I'll try to be honest here this drama isn't by any mean the best of it's kind, nor a fantastic drama that you must watch, it won't change your life or anything it's a plain psychological drama that you can totally skip and sleep well at night.

Acting was spectacular as expected, Hiroki shines in his role, this guy has been away from acting since about 2016 and HE STİLL HAS THE KNACK OF İT, now I can't really judge other characters since the drama is basically on Hiroki's shoulder but the reporter stands out, he was fantastic.

The story was nice, no mystery here, pretty predictable and nothing to look forward to. Nevertheless, it's not as boring as I've seen in the comments, it may need to be a little shorter like 6 episodes would have been perfect but 8 aren't considered bad since we needed a lot of backstory for literally all the characters and I believe if it was any shorter we might complain about the lack of backstory for some characters but all I'm saying is we can do without a few unnecessary scenes here and there ~

My overall rate is heavily influenced but that doesn't mean it was a bad drama, I would recommend it. I watched the whole thing without skipping while being on a drama slump so that means something, however, I understand if some found it boring or slow, it is to some extent but personally that wasn't enough to put me off.

Welcome back Hiroki San ❣️❣️

Fun show

This was a very fun show.

The cast was great, the guests were fun and even the introverted ones were great and helpful.

I loved how they didn't force them that much specially during bad weather.

The dynamics and interactions were so much fun, and overall enjoyable.

It's kinda short but you would enjoy the cast cooking and learn how hard it is to gather ingredients for food and be more appreciative.

Highly recommended.

Very funny

If you have seen NGNL you know then that these couple were the pole of the comedy in it, their interactions were super fun and here they just raised the bar a notch and successfully delivered.

The mini series was super fun, it has a duration of a movie and they used every single minute well, acting was good, even the cringe parts were watchable and that's a good point.
We got to see the web novel everyone was talking about in NGNL and the perfect life Jayeon dreamt about, and the scene with her father sent a direct arrow to my kokoro!

What I didn't understand was the switch from YooJin to SangYi, I mean I know that Jayeon and Hajun (SangYi ver.) were end game IRL but the point in the story IRL where she had the accident and dreamt of the whole thing they were still enemies, The Real life Hajun was still the hater and she told him to go die just a few minutes ago, so it came off weird and odd that she fantasised about him.
Also due to that, now the scenes in NGNL was slightly changed or adjusted to fit her dreams, she was never "relieved" that he didn't actually die because of the truck, yes she didn't want him to die but she didn't say that she is relieved nor did she smile at him in the original series which would change the whole thing, because the first time Hajun saw Jayeon smile IRL and started to have feelings for her wasn't in the hospital so this kinda shift a lot of minor moments from NGNL that they could have skipped easily.

Overall abd despite the one point I mentioned this is very good mini drama that is very enjoyable and re-watchable.

Simple mystery

I loved how they take a very complicated and good story and make it so simply and light.
The idea isn't new by all means and despite having a dark side to it, the way it was represented was very light and not so complicated.

What I loved about it is the chemistry and interaction between the leads, I also loved their romance.

What I didn't like was how random everything was happening, while it was overly simplified, it crossed the threshold of being slightly confusing in term of what can or cannot happen with some characters.

Also the cliffhanger end is bothersome because now we have to wait for the second part to have a closure, but knowing that a second part is being released soon and almost done made it less annoying ~

I would recommend it if you like the genre but want something very light ~

Good BL in a bad series

I fell asleep while watching ... Twice, mind you ... I also dozed off a few times and yawned my way through the whole thing.

That's how slow and boring this drama was.

Now I don't want to be unfair, because judging this as a BL, the love story is so good and well excuted also the chemistry was great.
Another thing that influences my judgement is I'm not a huge fan of Wuxia genre, whenever they hug and fly I roll on my couch and laugh like the joker.
I always find them very slow and full of unnecessary twists, I couldn't even finish one of the most loved Chinese bromance/censored BL ever made because of that.
So I knew I wouldn't give this a full mark, yet!! It's only 12 episodes so I was slightly optimistic, that's about the time I usually start to drop them so I thought it'll be safe, and judging by the recent Chinese BLs that are made without censorship, I was too excited ~~

Little did I know...

I won't go into the details because I don't want to get attacked by fans, but I'm giving my two cents here, the drama isn't really as great as edits made it looks, but it's a nice love story if you are a fan of Wuxia genre.

there is a lot to say about this drama because watching it was a hell of a ride so bear with me.
I have to say something first because I love school dramas that has interesting interactions between teacher and students specially if they have peculiar characters but I have to say that the first couple of episodes were such a put off!!! the most boring and messy start for a drama ever!! really I was forcing myself to watch it but by ep3 it starts to get better and the less annoying things -and characters- start to grow on you.
this drama was so funny and heartwarming, it has a realistic side where they show human weakness and fragility and how we are all scared at some point to show who we really are, but it wasn't a sad drama nor a tearjerker, I laughed a lot watching it and the funniest character has to be Kaba-san he was hilarious and whenever he is on screen I end up with a good laugh.

I didn't like the ML at the beginning and how they introduced the FL was a bit off but I blame the bad writing for making me hates them at first but I like them as the show goes on and I Iove them by the end of it.
the stories they covered and how they faced the students' problems was a bit idealistic and I'm glad it was like that actually because that's what we all hoped for.

the last ep wasn't that perfect, how they ended Hara sensei's "story" was a bit unrealistic but still I like it, it's happy and fun, I love the chemistry between the 2leads but I wish they showed more of the ML love because he was more awkward than in love I think lol

overall, a great drama, I enjoyed it Very much, I highly recommend it despite the very slow and bad start but it's worth it, I promise!

Amazing, emotional and simply beautiful

You know when a Japanese drama hits the spot!!! That's one of those magnificent ones that is perfect in all aspects.

For me, when a drama is perfect not because it's simply flawless, but because even it's faults can be disregarded, and doesn't decrease anything from it's great value.

This drama has it all, great story, awesome acting, strong leads, nice cinematography and direction is on point.

The story is very simple, and nicely represented in only 6 short episodes, the downside is that the ML's back story could be fleshed out more, just to gain a sense of connection with him, and if it wasn't just for the semi-r@pe scene in the very beginning, I'd appreciate him much more, but still, I loved him enough to wish him a great life with Odajima.

The actors were very good, chemistry was fine too, I loved them together, and no dead fish kisses was a bonus.

I just loved everything about it, a not so simple love story inside a shell of envy, jealousy and revenge. It really deserves more hype.

One more thing, I hardly notice soundtracks of the dramas I watch, unless they are really great, and I haven't been captivated by an ending song since Utsukushi kare, but here all the soundtracks even the BGM was brilliant.

As I said, everything was on point ❣️❣️❣️

Good but not perfect

It's a very good drama if you look beyond the illogical things that's going on.

Honestly, whenever I see the word "fantasy" or "supernatural" in a very normal drama, I immediately turn off my brain cells, because I know that it would piss me off with ridiculous and illogical situations. And Boy!!! Little did I know that this would be the best decision to make before starting this.

This drama lacks many things, but be that as it may, that didn't change the fact that this is a very good drama.

I kinda have to say the positives and negatives because how else am I going to explain how is this good and bad at the same time.

First a big shout out to Martin Wong, he singlehandedly carried the whole show, and he didn't disappoint at all, he was spectacular.
The rest of the cast were good too, no one was bad or cringe and chemistry was smooth and enjoyable, also a fair amount of kisses and making out (for people who enjoy those things, you are in for a treat)

Story is pretty simple, soul exchange then falling in love with the new person, but as a BL not a straight couple. It was entertaining, the pace is nice and little to no unanswered questions (as it usually tends to be with these type of dramas), cast was good, I loved Yaron Qiu, he nailed his role and gained a new fan.

However...
The story is simple but messy, like what is the point, what are we focusing on? The grandpa or the grandson? Xia Cha or Xia Ze Fang?? Also the way they messed up Hai Yuan character from cool and poised to clingy childish and impulsive character is overwhelming!! He basically became Guan Ri Qing... I see no difference, I even wanted Ze Feng to come back so that the grandpa and Hai Yuan won't be an endgame....

Nevertheless, I can understand that for the sake of "character development" or degradation in this case but anyway, also the fact that Xia Cha has been a straight guy who doesn't even fathom the idea of two men falling in love, and you turn him into a gay guy who falls in love with a boy his grandson age??? Good lord! What the heck was that writer high on??? Also the 70YO man is too childish I couldn't stomach it in some scenes, how come he is that innocent acting like a 10 YO kid who knows and understand nothing of this world, despite being a very very lovely character, in some scenes I was questioning who he is actually!!!

Another thing I didn't like but it's generally presented in some BLs is that every guy is gay, and every woman is a lesbian, no straight characters whatsoever, and I'm not saying that because I want to see straight characters in BL, I couldn't care less, but the fact that you assert and show that every single side character has a partner of the same gender is just a bit too much, unnecessary and superficial.

After saying all that I'm embarrassed to say that I actually liked it, because it was actually good, but you definitely have to shut your brain down to be able to enjoy it.

Very sweet

A lovely drama about two innocent souls falling in love slowly, this show sends me back in time of innocence.

I love those type of pure love where you experience everything for the first time.

Cast was great, although I feel the FL looks slightly older than the ML, but both of them were great in their roles .

There is no annoying characters, no drama, no conspiracies or bad moments, the humour is subtle but entertaining.

Story is very simple and enjoyable, even side characters were nice and lovely.

if you like the old genre of pure love stories with everything focused on the two leads then this one is a gem you can't miss~~

This has no business touching my heart like that

This was so beautiful... So beautiful.

The story is very simple and touching, and the two leads done great job, specially Akisawa Kentaro, he plays a deaf character and he managed to express all his emotions perfectly.

I don't know why this isn't popular! It's one of the best Japanese short movies I've ever seen.

Short, simple, heartwarming and beautiful.
Highly recommended ~~
