A dive into the dark side

A very dark and slightly disturbing story of two lost souls searching for love.

The story is very heavy, it leaves a very bitter aftertaste when you finish it
While the end is very good, the drama itself is so sad.

It's not the darkest I've ever seen and considering this is a Japanese drama I'm totally unsurprised by the story and how disturbing it was in some scenes -the little child scene with the man stripping - yet I slightly regret watching this as it's totally not the type of dramas I'd generally enjoy.

Acting was ok, I loved Kaji the most, he also -surprisingly - provided some comedic relief in some scenes.
Story like I said was too dark, but not bad, you still can enjoy the rest of the day normally after finishing it, or is it just me? ... Ok.

I'd generally not watch it again, nor recommend it but for the sake of the whole experience I'd give it a 3,5 or something ~

It's a beautiful friendship story, I think the romance tag is misleading cause I couldn't see their relationship as lovers at all.

It's a simple story about dreams and working for it and for young people at their ages to work for their dreams instead of just doing what is expected from them.

It's beautiful to have a crazy dream, when you are young that's what your life is about, the two leads friendship was beautiful and how the ML tries to help the FL be the best version of herself is just so lovely.

Again this isn't a love story but a beautiful friendship between two polar opposite characters.

Good slice of life but lacks logic

I liked this drama but I hated the amount of illogical behaviour from some characters and the unnecessary obscurity of the story.

I know it's discussing a very serious issue here but the way the characters handled the abuse matter is so stupid, providing little to no solutions, none whatsoever to anyone who is involved.
What made things even worse (which is a personal matter but still) was the little kid's behaviour and his mum's lack of brains, I know he is a child and he is a wounded one but he was so spoilt like his mum which made it slightly harder for me to sympathise with them. I'm not saying I didn't wish for them to be happy, it's just that I wasn't particularly moved by their story, I had a straight face all the way.

I still loved Hiroto tho, and his selfless character, slightly annoying but I still loved him so much
The transition in the two brothers relationship at the end is the only thing that made sense to me as it's a necessity to both.

I won't say much because it's not necessary, but imho there are other dramas that handled many serious issues in a better way.

Boring

That was terrible, a f I'm very disappointed, specially with this cast, do you have a super fantastic Actress in the lead role and you give her that character?? Really?? Such a wasted potential.

And I only mentioned the FL cause Han JiMin is so versatile and even her bad dramas are good, but nothing can save this show!!

The thing I hated the most was how the FL behaved with the two MLs, like she was so indecisive and childish, like why do you even go to blind dates? What's the point, you literally don't check them at all!! And you don't even give them a proper No or Yes or anything, instead you just wait for them to do the next step, even with one of the dates when she wanted to cut him off, she literally asked her friend to do that for her, and when that friend didn't deliver that message for whatever reason, she went along with the second date instead of telling him that through a phono call or something, and I know it's not exactly great manners, but if you don't like someone be honest! At least stand by your choices!!

The ML was so direct, right from the beginning, but they made them take a step by step, they even kissed without making anything clear! I mean, I'm not saying once they kisses it's a fone deal, they can get caught in a moment or something, but when the SML directly and openly pursues her, she didn't tell him she is considering the ML, nor did she care about his effort, she just went along!!

And I won't dwell much longer, long story short, the characters are just bad, and the FL was my least favourite if I even have a favourite ~

Definitely not recommended ~~

Not bad

I've finally finished it, I struggled through the last 5 episodes but I did it.

First of all, I've not seen the OG, so I had nothing to compare this version to, and I think that's why I rated it higher despite the negative comments here I found it entertaining.
Secondly, I like to point out that I don't watch many lakorns, but I understand they have their unique pattern, like too stretched unnecessarily, and many side characters can be killed easily, also they look like they are low on the budget with funny makeup and effects, not to mention the weak acting/editing/directing and so, however that doesn't affect how entertaining they are if you can stomach these stuff.

1- I liked the two leads and their dynamic relationship, the beginning was more funny tbh, cause the fake beard and overactive Khun Yai made me laugh so I couldn't take anything seriously and I couldn't see him scary at all also I love Toey so I enjoyed watching him in a quirky silly role.

2- nice chemistry between the leads, I don't know why some complains about the chemistry, they fort together enough to enjoy the show, one thing I didn't like was the fake kisses, I can't believe they still rely on camera angles and hair to made them look like they are kissing, but I understand that they do that in most lakorns and we god some real light kisses too so it doesn't matter much.

3- as I said before, lakorns tend to have too many drama unnecessary making them too stretched and have too many skippable episodes which is why I struggled in the last 5 episodes, I wanted it to end at ep20 max, and it'd have too much drama already.

4- they killed many side characters, but not the ones I wanted dead lol but I can't say that's a negative thing tbh, it just bothered me a little.

5- too evil characters that tend to be unbeatable, the madam was too much, I'm thankful the overacting here wasn't too much, actually I can stomach that much, I've seen worse.

6- too many characters in general, I don't understand why they have to cast that much side characters they added nothing to the story tbh.

Overall, entertaining lakorn, not bad but not great either, if you, like me, is intrigued by the story and like the lead then you will enjoy it ~

Final thing, I understand some people compares this version to the OG calling it worse, I wouldn't know, I couldn't find the OG anywhere to give it a try, so I respect that opinion, to each his own, but I believe this version deserves to be considered too and I think the leads did great so,... recommend show ~

Slightly underwhelming

I generally liked this show, however there was only one thing that bothered me, which is the way the show focuses only on 1 couple out of 4, I understand that it's mainly about them, but the other couples stories were underdeveloped and they tried hard at the latter episodes to tie all loose ends making it a happy ending for everyone, unfortunately we were deprived from a proper storyline, and many sweet moments.

Overall, mediocre, story and everything is basically predictable, but it is a very lovely healing drama with great leads.

Fantastic series with a weak story

I got too invested in this show to the point of having too many things I want to write about after finishing it, but I just don't know where to begin.

First off, I don't like the Chinese short web series because I haven't seen any good ones, basically all of them have messy stories with a billion plot holes and messy scripts, (sadly this too is included) but I've recently watched "heiress reborn" and I loved it so much so I gave my sweet CFT another shot with this web series and I'm glad I did.

I've to admit first, the story is shit!! I was lost all the time, we have conspiracies, women kidnapping, divorce journeys, rescuing missions and a search for an antidote for an incurable poison.
So basically I was watching with the mentality of, surprise me!!!!
" ok so what are we doing today in this ep? Oh, rescuing a kidnapped woman? Alright, oh the FL is trying to help some woman and that woman gave her a love potion, so we are searching for a crazy doctor? Ok, that's what we are going to do now I guess"

Another thing is shit, the way they gave us a SML syndrome, İNTENTİONALLY mind you, cause that can't be unintentional, the first half we got a FL sticking to the sml all the time, with him all lovey dovey with her and his eye literally throwing hearts at her, and let's be honest, it's CFT, who wouldn't fall for her!! I mean just look at her!! No one is immune!! But then, he isn't the ML, so half way through, enters the mostly broody and all sexy ML, so yeah she always goes back to the one she is meant to be with, and they look great together so it's a win either way, but it made the whole thing looks fake, like why did she choose the ML if all the time she is with the SML and they literally get along and fit together and all is good, like why ?? The ML saves her?? The SML did that too, they spent a lot of time together?? So does she with the SML, so there is nothing that pulls her towards the ML except that this is what the director orders them to do lol

Now aside from that, everything else is fantastic!!! Chemistry everyone is a pleasure to watch, even the side characters, this show is very unskippable, except maybe the conspiracy part, but because it doesn't make any sense tbh, more than anything.
The trio, ML, FL, and SML ... Ohhh those mofos!!! They are the best, I've never thought I'd laugh and enjoy my time like that watching these three together, and the parts where they got stuck together with this weird plant!! My god it was amazing, not to mention the parts where they got drunk, the two male leads are amazing together, they give siblings animosity vibes and I love it!!

I have to praise CFT cause I believe she was the one carrying the show, yes everyone was great but she just shines like the brightest star ever.

Highly recommended, if you just enjoy the crazy trio and ignore the story, cause it's really worth it despite everything ~~

Absolutely not

Am I the only one who feels repulsed by the idea, I don't think it's romantic at all, utterly disgusting if I may say.

The whole switching souls mystery was too obvious me, I expect it and I kinda expected the end, the only thing that surprises me is the mother, and her character is my favourite in this.

The FL is the real victim here, I don't feel sorry towards the ML at all, he choose that life, a life full of deceive and lies, and he wasn't fair to the FL, he built this fantasy world for her and she choose to believe the lie and live in the dream, because she isn't strong enough to accept the truth.

For me I don't think it's a sad end, a very very terrible one nonetheless, because I can see a future full of complications and problems ~~

It was nice but the version I've watched was a bit choppy and I didn't like that very much.

Still, the story was very enjoyable and the two leads were great together, even the bad characters did well.

The only thing that bothered me is despite the good acting they didn't pull off the whole crippled/blind thing that well, it was a mess dare I say, and that made the whole things even less enjoyable, since it's not a funny drama but rather dramatic.

However, I shall keep an eye on those two leads and their next work cause they were good, the ML reminded me of Pei In from some angles, and the FL is so cute ~

I vaguely remember watching the Japanese version and the movie sequel but I don't believe they were the same as this drama.

Because if I remember one thing, it's that the Japanese one didn't have a good end at all, not the show nor the movie xD and I dare say, as should be!!

I can understand how they went with the story, even the cheating characters and the reason behind it, but I can't for the life of me understand Jung Woo's wife "Min young".
Honey, if someone marries you to get your ass out of a messy infidelity relationship, and you leave this guy for 3 years alone to achieve your dreams in a another country then he asks you for a divorce! You give him one!! Because the whole "good wife" character isn't you!! You did the same before so if your husband cheated, you should not dare to act hurt or confront him and force him into a relationship with you!! You reap what you sow !!

Now for other characters
FL: coward 1 ... Because I don't think your husband being a nice guy is a reason enough to not ask for a divorce if you can't breathe without the ML... Just divorce him, because after all this mess, you will end up divorced anyway, and even if we put cheating aside, girl!! The way he treated you Vs the birds?? FFS why are you with him?? Because Nice isn't a quality enough to keep you married to him, so he treated you badly, didn't notice when you are sick or even care about you, moreover you have a sexless marriage for 3 years??? 3 FREAKIN YEARS, MATE!!! And not to mention his intrusive mother who keep stressing you about kids while it's her son's fault!! What exactly were you waiting for to leave?? What made me more furious is the fact that by the end of the series, he is now married with a child! C'mon! If you don't like your wife enough to sleep with her or she can't make you"get it up", then leave her don't push her into a marriage that is useless for both of you ~

ML: coward 2, what's keeping you in this marriage? Give me one reason to stay in it? You have never loved her, never cared about her, she belittles you and low-key ashamed of you, she leaves you behind for 3 years and come back after learning with your money to look down on you... Tell me again why are you in this relationship???

SFL: now here I kinda see a reason to stay in this damned marriage, 2 kids one of them is practically a baby, still the husband is terrible, I don't understand one thing, you were this open brave woman who cheated repeatedly with literally everyone and you were so out and about, telling people you don't even know about your rendezvous openly, then oh my god my kids!! My husband caught me!! And I can't live without them, you suddenly remember that you are a mother? Oh please!! You are a great mother for sure, but you saw that coming ~

SML: Mr. Enigma... I just don't understand him, so I'll just leave him be~

One thing I didn't like generally about this show is so many intrusive characters, like the high schooler kid? Wtf is wrong with you!! If you have a family situation just focus on your family, don't go and snoop around other people's affairs!! And the hoobae in FL's husband's office, girl get a grip!! You have this long confrontation with the FL about her husband while you practically did the same, you kissed a married guy and keep popping up everywhere he is!! So how dare you, bitch!!!

Lastly, I think this one was more sugar coated version, and slightly stretched, I don't think this needed 16 episodes it could be 12 and that would definitely be more than enough ~

That was sweet

I fully understand why they keep pairing Wang ge with Hao Nan because they fit together like lock and key, I saw him in other dramas with other FL and I -sadly- only was able to focus on either his heavy makeup or just the plot holes.

I love their interactions even if this, by all means, is not the most romantic story, the beginning is quite different from the end and that's kinda odd but it's a vertical drama so it's ok I think ~~
I ended it feeling that I've probably missed something, like what was the whole story is about anyway?

But, the good chemistry and some fun scenes covered up those weird storylines.

I think I have a new favourite pair now and I wish they would pick a better story, more romantic with proper storyline next time ~~

Such a sweet couple

I believe the two leads can act in any vertical drama and make it good because of their chemistry and how sweet they are, the only thing I don't like -just a general issue- is that they always casted in "Uncle romance", or what we call age-gap romance.

I don't know if they have other dramas with different genre but the ones I've seen are like that.

Story is not great so you will only continue because of the performances, be that as it may it was really sweet, MeiMei is cute as always, I just wanted it to be shortened a little, the whole accident and prison escape was completely unnecessary IMO.

Generally good, if you want something light with nice leads

Exaggeration in a nutshell

I know some of these Verticals are too exaggerated in term of everything, acting, story, illogical things and of course all about rich unhinged behaviour.

But I had a blast watching this, the ridiculousness was a tad too much, in a cringe way but who said I'm not in for it lol.

I wanted to scream, so many times, at the 3 brothers, just do a freaking DNA test, mate it's literally the most logical idea to be sure someone is related to you or not, why complicating easy things.

But it's the typical Cinderella story so logic is thrown out the window, one thing I didn't like is the brother-sister thing, I mean it's obvious they are going to make them biologically unrelated to get them together by the end but I would like it more if the two leads were completely sure they are not related BEFORE actually developing feelings for each other cause aside from that, it's just .... Ewww!!

Anyway, it's not one of the best, or the ones that I would suggest, but if you are ok with over the top, unrealistic in a cringe way dramas and have too much hair on your head so pulling some out of anger would not be a great loss, then give this drama a shot ~~

Everyone keep talking about the fake kiss and totally ignore how sweet and FUNNY this was

Like I know this is a 2025 BL and fake kisses are long gone but let's see the bright side here, I've seen a lot of Bls that has steamy kiss scenes but the whole show was shit! No story no chemistry nothing... And tbh if I only want to watch guys making out like that I'd go for soft gay porn, not a Japanese vertical drama.

I'm not saying this is the best BL ever but all I'm saying is if you are not so touchy about the kisses you will enjoy this because this was amazing, it reminds me of cherry magic not that they have anything in common, except maybe the Shy introvert Uke and confident popular Seme (or I believe that's their roles, there is no indication about which is which) but I remember CM had zero kisses yet was one of the best BL Japan ever made.

So this too considering it's a Short VD, it deserves compliments, because it was so funny, I laughed too much, the two guys were extremely handsome, with a killer side profile, and I really enjoyed it, so if you have less than an hour to spare, give it a go ~

Highly recommended.

Started off good then quickly turned into an overly dramatic soap opera, of course we have the homophobic parents in the mix.

I loved the Pickering between them in the beginning and I believe that's the only good thing about it, it's quite funny and cringe too but it's expected from a vertical drama, also the lack of logic is also there.

Is it bad? Yes, is it watchable? Also yes, it's not not too bad to be recommended, but it's not that great either, it's just ok-ish if you can stomach some illogical things and some funny moments.

I loved the two leads they had nice chemistry, and despite needing more acting lessons, they were very good together.
