He so selfish he still asked Zhan Bai to take care of his selfish wife as well. I think the drama has some good message. When taking care of others don't forget about yourself, he was so busy caring for others his miss his chance to say his last goodbye to his love. It was very tragic. I thought the love story is beautiful. The redemption story of Maio Feng was good too. The only thing is of course the pacing of the drama, the evil are boring as heck, the fight scense are still lacking for wuxia for me. I really enjoy Joseph, Hong Yi and Li Qin here.

I pitty Zhan Bai the most. I just want to hug him.

There was lots of potential. But the characters at one point you want to wack your shoe at them. The writing was wtf, I felt character were the same as they started too lol

Yes, Li Qin always does this hand waving thing, and I noticed her nails are super long, lol. In the close-ups, they’re definitely press-ons, lol. There hasn’t been a Wuxia drama like the ones made back in the 80s and 90s, especially the Hong Kong ones! China produced some amazing ones as well, but no one has been able to create a new universe as complex as the old OG writers. They tend to steer more toward politics and royal power rather than the traditional Jianghu. Also, the new actors aren’t trained in martial arts and wire work, only a few are really good at it. I was disappointed with the new Jin Yong universe drama that was released this year. The trailer looks so good, but for a wuxia dramas, the fight sequences along with the camera work was lacking!
