Oh you didn't suffer like I did on the first 4 episodes like no one was talking about it and the ratings were…
I'm a fan of actor Ahn Eun Jin so I was waiting for this drama since promo pics and watched this mainly for her. When I heard that this only has 10 eps (didn't know of p2), I thought ok she's taking baby steps via a mini-series lol. Only to realize on episode 1 that this is an upscale, well-made, expensive one, but no one was talking about it argh! So I totally relate to how you felt! Glad that we have so many dedicated comrades in this forum now.
While Jang Hyun was going undercovered at the enemy's camp, suffering hard to get intel, getting himself injured from head to toes (yes toes literally), Yeon Jun be like ok let me put on a white dress and practice vocalizing in front of the king's room lol. Useful/useless at its core.
I wish this was aired on Netflix at the same time as on MBC. I know Netflix doesn't have the most accurate subtitles but its accessibility and marketing would help the show get more recognition international wise. This gem is currently popular in Korea but to me it should blow up 10 times bigger than it is now.
Gil chae - Jang hyun and Mi hyun - Doo shik (from Moving) are my MVP couples atm. I love smart and tough cookies with subtle sense of humour that seamlessly complement their partners!
To this point everything doesn't disappoint. There're pinches of sadness throughout the recent episodes but immediately getting made up for by something lighthearted and fluttering. I love it.
P/s: Episode 5 makes my fingers curl - in a good way! There are more scenes between the ML - FL and I'm all for it!
I just come back to check the rating every day because this ain't no 8.3 and this pisses me off so much. If we…
I don't get it either, even when someone mentioned that people are "holding" the rating for later (like what?). Episode 4 alone already deserves a 9.0!
Is MBC going with Netflix's trend now... Netflix might make us wait but on release date, they dropped the entire season, not 2 eps/week like MBC. Sigh..
Can someone explain something to me? Is the beginning of episode 1 basically the foreshadowing of LJH's demise?
He went missing so no one knows for sure. I hope he ran away with Gil Chae and two of them live a peaceful life unbothered by all those political dramas ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
There were people (both from International and Korea) who had doubts about Ahn Eun Jin being casted as FL in a historical drama like this. But having seen her in Kingdom, I know she has potential and will ace it in My Dearest. She suits dark, intense (and a bit gory) historical atmosphere where she can portray a complex character with inner strength, layered emotions and intelligence. I have to say after ep 4, she really proved that she can deliver! Korean comments about her now are all positive, like "Now I understand why Ahn Eun Jin was casted". Can't wait to see her character's arc and the entire story.
