Yeah I think thats how far the English translation has so far (although I think you can get up to chapter 50 something on the webtoon app with coins). like yall im not joking when I say yunjae in the last chapter was talking to them and reminiscing on moments with jihoon and how he actually liked things like being hugged/held from behind by him lolol, meanwhile in the show we didnt even get a single friendly hug 🤣😭😭
btw, in the manhwa (read it in korean bc its completed) we learned that the way to turn back into a girl is by kissing. jieuns parents told yunjae and jihoon that when they went to visit them; that was also when jieun revealed to her parents that shes jihoon and also when jihoon/jieun learned that this runs in the family lolol, it happened very late in the story(it was one of the last chapters). also they already kissed before that lolol, but it didnt work bc that time when they kissed the intention in yunjaes heart wasnt "I'll love you no matter what you look like",,, yunjae even felt dissappointed(?)/sad when it was time to make jihoon "disappear",, THEN in the last chapter, minhyuk and yuri asked them how jieun turned back (yes, minhyuk knew about it in the manhwa) and she started saying "we tried kissing, but it didnt work, so-", then yunjae panicked and covered her mouth and said "don't explain the details!", and under that scene the author wrote "please leave it up to your imagination",, basically implying they had to do a lot more than kissing for jihoon to become jieun,, if you catch my drift LMAO! anyways, all this to say, I wish they followed the manhwa hhhh
finished it, very disappointing execution of a plot that couldve been so good if done right😮💨 also I dont think jiyeon is now a girl forever? or at least thats what the ending seemed to be saying, thats why she packed the electric razor, thats why her bag had both name tags, and why the narration was them saying they accepted that their situation is unique and that shes both jieun and jihoon. if that wasnt them saying that her situation is one where she just continues to flip back and forth between jieun and jihoon, then idk why they even included that😭 if she now is presenting as a girl forever, they couldve ended it with her saying "I've now turned back into a girl permanently". if anyone was wondering if they should watch this drama, I do not recommend lolol. I had to watch majority of it in 2x speed or I wouldve never finished it (and I only did that bc I kept hoping that maybe they'd do one thing right, but alas...)

fr, I was thinking its 2025 so I'll have hope that they'll be able to execute this well and cover such important topics in a progressive, yet somewhat realistic, manner, but nope!😭😭 my fault for having expectations😪 on god, coffee prince (2007), did a million times better in covering those topics😭😭 and that was with the plot being a straight men suddenly finds himself falling for who he thinks is another man, not "the person I'm already deeply in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with suddenly turned into a man". you would think the latter would have an easier time accepting it, as they already love this person, but nope😭😭 like have we, as a society, really degressed in 2025 from where we were in 2007??😭😭 like coffee prince, with those tough topics and with them actually addressing homophobia/internalized homophobia/acceptance, came out in 2007, a much less accepting time, and still managed to become one of the most popular kdramas of all time (especially in Asia, which is much more conservative when it comes to these topics). and the reason behind the popularity was that people loved seeing the "I will love you regardless of your gender expression/outward appearance" trope because its relatable; even if it isn't something like loving me despite what gender expression I present, all people fear that the feelings the people in their lives have for them might change if something about them changes, whether outwardly or inwardly, and found comfort in a drama where a character truly just loves the person for who they are!! I was expecting an even better and much more progressive version of that in "My Girlfriend is the Man", but alas, they heavily missed the mark with that one🥲🥲 I think I'm gonna read the manhwa in Korean to see if the manhwa went in the same direction as the show, or if the adaptation just decided to go a different route lol
