That was one of those "filler" episodes (stuff that was added to the drama, and is not in the book). SY won that round though 😆.

I read romances and trust me, this novel is pretty tamed in the sexy scenes. I have read other Chinese novels, and they are tamed as well. It is mostly innuendo and sensual, nothing explicit. 😁

And XQ is not an obstetrician either, so it was meatball surgery to save the baby.

Well, the novel is 68 chapters and they FINALLY get together at the end of chapter 38, so if you want to talk slow burn, the novel is a good example. 😁

It is too bad the drama has not expanded on why she was adopted by the Meng family in the first place and the reason she lost her real parents. In the book we know why she was orphaned and how she was ostracized by her school friends after losing her parents, and why she feels indebted to the Mengs.

Really? I thought he did YAMG first, because of the changes in his body. You can tell he put on some muscle for the special forces role (which you can see in this drama as well. Oh my, every time he took that shirt off!) IMO, he still had the dancer body in YAMY, but in GOSF he had some muscle and in this one, OMG).

Fu Wenyin, while arguing with her husband, then said that SY's mom became someone else's mistress after failing to get Meng Huaiyin. I don't know if/how they will address this in the drama.

In the novel, Fu Wenyin tried to have Song Yan framed as a traitor when he was in the army. I am guessing the drama will address this in the future because it is a turning point in the relationship between Xu Qin and her adoptive parents. In the novel, unbeknownst to Song Yan, his mother tried to become Meng Huanjin's mistress after abandoning her husband and son. They changed that in the drama as SY's dad being a worker at a Meng industry being laid off.
