The scene when XQ uses the fibrillator on SY is not on the book. I THINK it is part of a nightmare she has (she has a nightmare in the book where SY dies). That explosion on episode 30 no idea what it is, it was definitely is added for the drama. At this point in the book, after she moves in there is an incident at the hospital where the widower of a pregnant woman who dies along with her baby threatens to jump out of the roof and XQ fed up basically tells him "so jump" and SY almost falls with the guy, scaring XQ in the process, Then they had a spat about him being in the fire scene after he lied to her saying he wouldn't be deploying. They made up (spectacularly so). There is a scene where XQ goes back to her parents house (why? I am still asking that question) and SY goes with her but waits for her outside but tells her he is at the museum so she doesn't worry, when in reality he is out in the cold. XQ realizes what is happening and leaves right before dinner and MYC actually backs her up, and XQ decides she is not going to try and visit her parents again. The part of SY rescuing the Fu woman is added for the drama. Then both of them go to a ceremony held in honor of the rescue workers, and XQ runs into Lu Jie (the soldier) and he is the one who tells XQ about what happens to SY not knowing who wanted to frame him, but it doesn't take long for XQ to realize it was the Fu woman. THAT is when she goes and confront both parents, smashes the picture and severs ties with both of them. In chapter 66 there is a huge fire that almost kills SY, so maybe they are changing that with the fire where SY rescues wicked Fu woman.

Just to clarify, that was Fu Wenyin (SQ's adoptive mom) who tried to frame him. BUT! In the novel, it is revealed also that SY's mom tried to snatch away Meng dad before he was supposed to marry Fu Wenyin. In the novel neither SY nor XQ know this about SY's mom. SY only knows that his mom is worthless. And, to be fair, Meng dad did not agree with what Fu Wenyin did because as he said "they had already broken up." But didn't stop her either. It is not entirely clear in the book how SY got his name cleared enough that he was able to join the firefighting brigade and make a career. It is only explained that he worked his butt off.

It is a slow burn, reunited after a long time type of drama. It gets all fluffy starting in episode 25. FL is a victim of controlling abusive adopted parents. Honestly, she needs therapy at times.
