I think ML being kind to Ji hye is very much his character.. from the flashbacks he deals with difficult people and situation maturely (I know it's subjective) even as a teen... the only immature person he behaves towards is FL cos they are being silly in love π€
edit- not saying he handled everything perfectly, just that contrast in his attitude shows he cares abt FL opinion of him but not JH.. (but please show her the door clearly she needs to stop being delulu π)
ep 7 was amazing for me. very comedic yet full of feels. great pacing except minor issues towards the end but not a deal breaker cos the ending still stole my heart lol..
Jung Yumi's teary expressions got me so hooked, I rewatched her scenes so many times..
They both fought different hardships plus their feelings for each other over 18 years.. and the reigniting moments are wonderful to watch.
FL was so traumatized by the lawsuit history that she lost her social justice fighting spirit. would love to see this side of her again with ML by her side now.. I feel her character was in some sort of "idc about the world" state.. nothing else for her to lose anyway (other than grandpa). perhaps challenging to have such a main character in a romcom but for me it's still positive they included some aspects of mental health crisis/treatment.
still rooting for FL in track suits/simple dressing. her character looks perfect in them. and Ju Ji Hoon looks good in all shades of blue ties lol
enjoying 12 episode romcoms.. the upcoming angst (feuds.. the sus grandpa's son etc) won't last for so long π
and I think FL looks so good even in her track suits , love the fact that true love really isn't about the outfits, success, other surface qualities but loving each other for their character/who they truly are.. (track jersey/pants remind me a bit of Hotaru no Hikari )
if I met my ex now (I'm 40 and we broke up 15 years ago), there's no way we are gonna immediately sit down and "clarify our misunderstandings" from 15 year's ago π I'm also one the rare ones enjoying the adults being silly and all
Young ML has a heroic/touching act every episode.. adult ML meanwhile has been falling into a pail, into the lake, and off a ladder π (not spoilery I hope π )
the way each episode unveils their history is great, hope it continues.. and weave more seamlessly into the present
People don't like current version of FL because this FL has almost lost her will. Nothing has went right for her…
totally agreed.. the FL got so beaten up with losses as a young adult...she must have lost a large part of herself.. her colleagues mentioned that before ML reappeared they had never heard her raise her voice..
good point you've raised about the contrast between her younger and current self esp confidence
the only reason I've not beared to rewatch this gem is because I cried so uncontrollably at the mother-daughter scenes and when FL misses her child... so heartbreaking and genuine... and also laughed so hard at the comedic scenes which are all so on point.
As a Jang Nara fan since her debut over 20 years ago, it makes me so happy to read positive comments on her acting cos she really slays.
portrays the challenges of married life and parenthood quite well. having gone thru a stay at home mom stage some years back, totally relate to the FL. and the stresses of ML being the sole breadwinner is heartfelt too.
such a great drama, even after so many new time travel shows this steals my heart.
I loved this. the characters struggle with real issues, and the storylines are so tear jerking, with heart warming moments. the portrayal of the savant syndrome is better here than the Korean version (my personal opinion).
fan of Ueno Juri and Naohito for many years and they are great here as well.
I watched episode 11 and a bit of episode 12 today, but correct me if I am wrong didn't Yoo Ra in her entry scene…
the way I understood it was her severe lack of self-trust, especially towards her own choices, and the shaken trust towards relationships is genuinely not easy to overcome in a short time, so she flees the moment she could...
I agree there might be better ways to go about it than not giving the ML the chance to explain, but I thought running away was more reflective of her fears and trust issues..
I finally see the purpose of Yura as many already pointed out (and still pondering her role in Ji Hyuk's fate in first life).
I've not read the novel version, but parts of the webtoon showing JiWon leading Soo Min onto darkness (related to the MIL's death) was disturbing to me. I'm hoping with YuRa in the picture, drama Ji Won does not need to taint her own actions further cos the 3 villains will be embroiled in their own tangled web of narcissism, jealousy and revenge.

I had the entire Goong OST on repeat mode in school days so it's another level of nostalgic surprise π
and please grow up Ji Hye.. and go away shooo

can't wait for next ep π, great pacing, cast and acting, cinematography, ost!

Glad the wedding scene is so grand and the pics are beautiful!
Certain episodes needed a tighter pace but in the end all the characters and their fate come full circle, which is a wonderful wrap up.
will be watching more Song Ha Yoon's drama. she's great in fight for my way too and will binge her others
