Overall, I liked the series. When I watch TV, it is for entertainment purposes. Even though topics can be heavy, I will accept the portrayal because I don’t expect all TV to represent the expectations of real life. I loved Yong Jie’s character the most! Despite him giving off the questionable vibes in the beginning, I loved his honesty and his self awareness. Those are qualities that are difficult to find.
My biggest issues started after Tengteng and Li Cheng became a couple. I loved the chase and the back and forth between those two and that intimacy was lost once they became a couple. The story just stopped developing and became stagnant. I don’t have the problem with the stepbrothers to lovers story nor do I have a problem with two straight guys falling in love with each other. The execution started strong and ended flat.
I hated that they had the VP come back and make an issue right before the finale. Magically evidence has come to light proving Li Cheng’s innocence and everything is great. It just made that arc so rushed and incomplete and I hate those types of endings. I understand they foreshadowed it with the hotel video of Li Cheng and Mei Fang, but the embezzlement came out of no where and was underdeveloped. *Sigh*
On a high note, I loved that they included Sun Bo’s wedding and the cameos of the MODC crew. I hope this means there will be NO sequel to MODC because it was perfect where it ended.
I’m speculating that the “living together” was the build up. Plus the constant love of bickering... but…
Let’s be honest. We are watching how 2 horny college boys become lovers/boyfriends. There was no exploration in the feelings or anything. They went straight from 0 to horny real quick.
I will be watching the rest too! Gosh why do we torture ourselves haha

OMG I was dying watching that part. Normally there isn’t that much sexual discussion. They just get it on and we see the after effects. I love the sex flirting hahaha I feel like it’s something real couples would do. But yes this couple had so many WTH moments and I had to turn my brain off and enjoy...... hmmm

I have no way to explain why I actually like this couple. Maybe it’s because enemy to lovers is one of my fav storylines. (And I know there are way better ones) I’m surprised they don’t have as many outside influences and the story actually focuses on the couple. I know I’m giving a lot of excuses for this couple.
I’m on my way to 3 and 4. If it’s not cute I’m coming for you nekochibi lol
I'm only halfway through the second episode (so maybe it's too soon to judge) but is it just me or is the pacing…
I’m speculating that the “living together” was the build up. Plus the constant love of bickering... but they did fall super quick. Reminds me of Wish You before the movie with extra scenes. Root for it because they both want it and we always love a BL with a happy ending :)
I have to say I’m cracking up over all of the affection despite Tue having chicken pox haha I guess they aren’t contagious anymore?
Just a min, I watched MODC way before and now forgetting things...can you tell me when did Mei Fang show up in…
Hahaha it took me a minute to realize too! The end of episode 4 is when they are in the library and Hao Ting confesses to liking Xi Gu. Mei Fang is a friend of Hao Ting’s ex-girlfriend.
This is 100 times better than what the duck series, don't compare rock with gold. I admit this may not be the…
Are you opposed to the relationship of the “brothers” because they grew up together? Does it make a difference that one never actually saw the other as a “brother”?
Incest is typically a no no due to birth defects, but is incest considered between non-blood relatives?
The only thing that keeps siblings from that behavior is because we are taught it is wrong, but sexual attraction toward a sibling is not uncommon. Relationships happen due to close proximity such as co-workers and neighbors, so I am not surprised the brothers have developed those feelings.
I was pleasantly surprised to see both Mei Fang and Sun Bo from MODC! Mei Fang is definitely one of my favorite fujoshis. I love that she is not pushy and doesn’t force her agenda on LC and MR. she is just as awesome when Hao Ting confessed to liking Xi Gu and asked for a picture. And Sun Bo with hair is just beautiful.
The whoIe story development for the second couple is questionable. I happen to be VERY (too much) open-minded,…
There is the constant battle of consent here. Personally I would not call this rape because Xing S. is fully aware of who he is with and what they are doing. He even tries to kiss Yong J. Is Yong J’s actions ethical? No! History definitely does make one consider the question of consent. Mu Ren was drugged and actually said no in his drug induced state. Li Cheng makes Mu Ren uncomfortable with his intimate touching, but Mu Ren physically reacts and doesnt say no. For me the question is not of consent, but are the actions ethical. Yong J. knows Xing S. would suffer before crossing the line because he has strong boundaries and family duty. Alcohol reduces his inhibitions, but it did not incapacitate him so much he would have been unable to consent. The writer presents us with various situations where there is a question of consent and it forces us to really question the difference between those forms.
After the initial panic of did they really just kill Tong Fah.. I remembered the end scene from episode 4. Clever…
I love this theory! I checked the episodes and Paper is wearing a different shirt in both scenes. Unless the writers forgot about the wardrobe or Paper changed his clothes... I don’t think it will loop back :(

What is your definition of incest?
