I do agree with most of what you’re saying about Ming and Ning. The reason I would still consider this non-consensual is that Ning was clearly shocked and upset it was Ming. He even accused Ming of taking advantage and said he hates people like Ming. Ning knows he was drunk and can’t be too pissed, which is why they wrote his reaction so tame. Will he be happy later when they finally get together? Probably. But for now, he is trying to avoid Ming because of what you said above: a betrayal from an ex lover. I’m just really happy they didn’t try to pull some bullshit that Ming loves him so much, he has to rape Ning to express it.

“Step by Step” provided a realistic scenario where a boss and employee spend time together and fall in love. I’m not sure in what universe the owner of a hotel would even interact with a front desk employee regularly. It is very possible I’m just being too narrow minded.
As much as I love a cold-hearted MC, a cold CEO who falls in love with an ordinary employee is an underwhelming premise. It would be so unfortunate for them to spend time and resources on the coaches for the NC scenes, but zero on the writing and directing. Those men are clearly comfortable with kissing and foreplay, but is that what’s going to keep the show together? There have been so many pilot teasers that rely on the NC scenes for views (which is smart because women love it), but disappointing because even the NC scenes that were “expected” let audiences down. I hope there is a secondary couple to fill the void of the slow burn the main will deliver. I don’t have high expectations for this one, but it should be entertaining to watch.

I just imagine a universe where my bias, also my friend, confessing to me…. In what universe would an idol want to date plain me? Zero talents, average looks, amazing personality though…. Remember Pat had to send those flowers to himself because they accused him of dating that female employee and receiving special treatment? Jeng, in all his wisdom and maturity, told Pat about the situation and told him not to get too close. Now Jeng is essentially doing the same thing to Pat. Imagine the reactions when Jeng has Pat take his place as supervisor….. yikes….
Jeng has been taking care of Pat and if Put noticed, others have too. I’m looking forward to how this story progresses. One of my favorite shows this year.

Yes!!! And I laugh because everyone on MDL is saying Jeng is so perfect… (I love your descriptions above), but I don’t think they realize how problematic that description is. We recognize how great Jeng is, while we criticize Pat for his behaviors. Don’t you think Pat is doing the same thing??? Pat only sees his deficits and doesn’t feel he is good enough for Jeng. This is why I think Pat is pushing Jeng away…. Pat is being Pat and he is cautious… I think a lot of us in this scenario would feel exactly as Pat feels and try to salvage our own feelings.
