Love conquers all
Body Swaps if not time travel is a thing of Korean dramas. My first drama with both of these features was Mr. Queen and nothing beat this when it comes to the comedic act of both leads.
But for Moon River, though there may be comedic scenes, the central story revolves around the love story of Gang and Dal I. They may be weak in the past, but five years after they have set their minds to stick together to defeat the Left Minister.
I am in episode 11 at this time of writing, so I don't have any conclusion yet. But having seen Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jeong's acting, I am drawn to their characters. They have truly shown a range of emotions not just the way they speak (I only read English Subtitles), the tone, the body language, the facial expressions which makes the story so believable and captivating. Thank you for choosing them to take the leads.
The other characters at play which I think I can't still figure out are:
1. The King - why is he such a weakling? Why can't he do anything to stop the blackmailing of the Left Minister? Does he not anyone else by his side to support him?
2. The daughter of the Left Minister: what does she got to do with the mask person? (The director should have chosen an actress who is fiercer. I find this 2FL having limited facial expression and stiff. Please if anyone reads this review, send her to an actor's workshop)
3. The Left Minister - what drives him to do control the king? Why didn't he take the throne instead?
I love the adoptive parents of Dal I. They are funny, but at the same time you see how protective they are.
I love the Crown Prince's eunuch and guard - they are his ever-trusted sidekicks.
When I finish the whole drama, I shall return to this review for my conclusion.
