I've been rewatching this whenever I've finished the new episodes of TTEOTM. 🤣

It's indeed Sang Jiu. She hasn't done the co-cultivation with Ming Ye for a while so her evil energy overpowered her. Her brother said that if the evil energy become uncontrollable, she lose her sanity.

I have just finished until ep 14 so now I get what you meant. And I have a theory. Chang Huang is married to Di Mian, and is the goddess of the Phoenix Clan. She said that Sang Jiu felt familiar while Li Su Su was inside her. In the novel, Li Su Su was a bird found by her sect. She cultivated until she became human. We're a lot of episodes away from her going back to 500 years into the future, but I would agree, Su Su may be a descendant of Chang Huang.

Oh, my bad, I'm sorry. I haven't watched the new episodes yet and there's no other deity roles in the original novel so I understood you wrong. 😅 I'll watch it in a bit.

Yeah, I think it would take a few more ep. In the trailer, there's a part where Bai Lu put a white cloth on Luo Yunxi, and she's dressed like Sang Jiu. Comparing it in the novel, that part was when Ming Ye got badly injured and lost his eyesight so SJ took care of him. From there, there were still a few more things that'll happen if they're sticking with the novel. So the dream will end in a couple more episodes.

I'm betting it's bec of the Mirror of the Past artifact. In ep 1 and flashback in 10, it was implied that he doesn't have any concept of time and the Mirror was made from his eye so he's already "seen" YXW when she used it 500 years ago to go back. I may be wrong but that's how I'm understanding it.

It's a foreshadowing of their future. And according to the God YXW met at the Barren Abyss, it's one of the 3 keys to destroying TTJ's evil bone.

Exactly! And when I look back, there were A LOT of events in this arc in the novel but were only told in very few chapters. I think it can now be given justice by using more episodes.

Indeed, they're reliving the memories by being the character that closely resemble their true selves. Can I just say that this is a foreshadowing of YBC's evilness. I hate her a lot!

Full of misunderstandings. It's a long story. But basically Sang Jiu thought Ming Ye did not care for her, and that he caused the demise of her clan then abandoned her. All her miseries were because of Tian Huan's schemes. Sang Jiu died while trying to avenge her clan, which devastated Ming Ye to the point that he decided to not proceed to his ascension as a god and just relive his painful memories with Sang Jiu over and over again.

Yes, they did. In the novel, the sorcerer who assisted Minglan moves to TTJ when the former died. But here, Pian Ran assisted TTJ instead. It's a bit of regret for me bec Pian Ran's original story and ending were very sad. However, this change allows for more surprise so it's still interesting for me.

Exactly! I see that some of the deviations were done to organize the story better since not everything from books can really be emulated into live action. Although there are still some parts from the books I was hoping to see here but wasn't included.

I love that he was chosen even before the script is done. He is an amazing actor so he deserve the honor.

Su Su striked her with lightning. She hated her for letting their grandmother "die" and scheming against her. A lot of things happened that caused her to hate YBX, TTJ and XL too much that she's decided it's better to die than continue living in darkness and continue getting tortured emotionally.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm hoping they will indeed change the drama and just get some concepts from it like they did with Love Is Sweet. And I think if the drama indeed stuck with the novel, Bai Lu and Wang He Di won't take the project: #1 bec BL is mostly taking good scripts, and #2 bec I saw an article in the past saying that WHD learned his lesson from Miss The Dragon and is now very meticulous in choosing new projects.

Hmmm... You have a point. But we have yet to see his chemistry with Bai Lu, while we have already proven LYX's and BL's ship. So I would still go for LYX for this one. Bec for the FL, no one can change my mind for having BL.

I agree! I thought at first XL was just compelled to "love" her bec of YBX's spell like what happened with PY in the novel. But compared to the other 2, XL seemed to genuinely love her. But again, her ambition gets the better of her.

exactly! the flowers feed off of the people's pain and suffering while they're in the nightmare. she's ambitious, maybe bec of her experiences as well.
