Whoa! First, take a deep breath. Second, it's a tv show with idol traffic actors (but LXY is hot af lol.. ) so…
Hi friend, I was not commenting at you about the insulting actress. I know you aren't insulting anyone because you clearly stated everything about your opinion in relations to the drama with respect to the characters and the plot. I was referring to hardcore fans of JJY because it feels like any critique about the characters or the acting makes the fans twist an opinion, even if it isn't malicious, they take it out of context. I'm on the same boat as you and struggle watching JJY dramas. This is a reason why I haven't continued more of this drama. I apologize for that misunderstanding, because my message was agreeing with @paxxie regarding the fans coming out to fight. I miss ZHHZ alot so I understand where you're coming from.

This drama is a hit in CN right now because of Liu Xueyi's hotness 🤩🤩and his CP with Zhhz is TOP on weibo…
I'm super happy for ZHHZ's recognition. She was definitely a dark horse in this guest role as YCW. I hope this elevates her into more projects, and that we'll see her return with LXY in the future.

Its not that JJY acting is very bad but ML is criminally underrated and he is my favourite villain....Now I am…
Same same. I read that he was saying goodbye to the profession which is so sad given the speculations. On a similar vein, hoping good things for LXY as he continues to be elevated in his projects.

anyone know any other dramas where someone's soul ends up in another person's body or even a face swap like this…
Not really switching with a villain, but there is also the K-drama, ALCHEMY OF SOULS.

is this very similar to a familiar stranger but just darker or is the only similarity the face swapping?
I believe the only similar thing is the swapping component (evil and good switching) and the male lead suspecting the female lead. Otherwise, I think this drama has more depth to the story, only because they have more episodes to work off of with 32 episodes, vs FAMILIAR STRANGER being a web based drama and shorter in length. I also think IN BLOSSOM has more room to flesh out the characters in comparison.

this drama started well, but in the second episode they changed faces and actresses... which I don't like anymore!!!.....…
You brought up a great point about how much trauma someone would have to overcome to love the soul essentially in the body of someone who he suspects is the culprit in killing his wife. It involves not only the idea that this other person killed his lover, but also that she was obsessed with him in that creepy, eerie way. That is definitely a lot to have to work through with the complex emotions, and he'll probably need therapy. LOL.

But I agree with @paxxie, just breathe. You're entitled to your opinion, as this is a discussion forum. However, it is also okay to drop a drama you're not enjoying and struggling with. Life is too short to force yourself to watch something that will make you frustrated and upset.

LOL your comment about "FL who?" is hilarious. I was discussing this drama with friends about how it feels like LXY is carrying the weight of the drama because of his acting calibre from the micro-expressions to the way he carries himself through the grief for example. (Sadly true about some hardcore fans. I think it's fair to critique the skills of an actress without being malicious, but I believe fans can easily twist someone's opinion.)

I was saying this to some friends too! I believe we're in the minority of the female lead, but I absolute adored…
I feel LXY carried the weight of the drama between the two of the leads because of his acting calibre from the aura he exudes to the every changing micro expressions that make him such a great actor. He's also incredibly good looking so he's definitely an overall talented threat.

As for the discussions, yes! I feel anytime someone critiques the JJY fan will blindly defend. It was hilarious almost as if one is not allowed to have any other opinion about JJY. She's quite lucky she's so popular because I remember even in her other dramas, like the ones with Zhang Zhe Han, he carried the weight of the dramas. Even if I didn't finish them. As for discussions, yea, it's not worth the energy critiquing JJY because people will just come after us saying things like we hate the actress, or that we're blind or dumb. Lol.

People think the popularity of the drama is because of JJY, and while I don't doubt it helps, I greatly feel that a very good drama will draw people in and sometimes the drama becomes some star's breakout role. I want to believe that in other platforms, that ZHHZ is being praised and given the attention so she may one day gain a leading role.

Mine too. I'm still hung up on that sweet scene too. It helps greatly how much chemistry they have. Otherwise it won't work. I love that he knows she can handle herself and I'm sure he'll also step in if things get out of hand or becomes dangerous. He'd do what it takes to protect her.

Thank you, friend. I feel quite picky with my dramas and sometimes the way I critique the dramas crack people up too. But I see it like just because we all can't or don't care to cook great food doesn't mean we don't know what good food is.

As for JJY, well... I am on the same page as you. I don't care for her acting (though I hope she's improving in this drama) and her looks are so plastic to me too. I feel she's super thin, so I've struggled with all her dramas and never finished them . I just say she's gorgeous because the standards of the Eastern Asian culture seem to define her so. Beauty is so subjective, so for me personally, I find ZHHZ more beautiful and striking in comparison. I actually have not seen the hate against JJY on this comment section of the drama... only that people find her makeup heavy. JJY is hugely popular enough and practically 98% of the discussion here feels like hardcore fans of JJY and the drama.

I've yet to continue the drama since ep 2, because I'm still sad, but I do plan to watch it further when some of my friends catch up. I'm still think of the scene of them in the carriage and how sweet that was.

In ep 3 why ml's hair are white ??
I believe it has to do with his grief and heartbreak over his wife's death which caused the white hair.

Maybe the ratings went down cos of the switch of actresses? Agree with all discussions that it would unique and…
I don't think the first actress is as well known or popular like JJY for the ratings to be affected by the switch. Specifically here, I think people rate out of frustration of a drama not airing all the episodes, even if it's unfair, or sometimes I hear it's the anti fans of whoever the stars are, who come in to give low ratings. Personally, I just rate the drama overall if and when I finish watching.

Yea, I truly hope in the future we'll have more of these spunky, "ugly" heroines. It was truly such a missed opportunity on a message of inner beauty and honestly, profound love. I am repeating myself, but I felt because the male lead is so handsome, and the female lead being "ugly" would give a lot of tension to a drama where we first saw the sparks of the female lead being uncomfortable around the male lead, like the scene in the carriage. I think it would have been so wonderful to see her own growth, rising over her trauma of having a scar, and realizing the male lead loves her for her, scar be damned. Even as he was in the carriage with her, he gave no care to what society thought of her. LOL, I shared earlier, but again, had I screen-capped this for my sad heart as we said goodbye to this actress in this drama https://gyazo.com/bfb87cd1ffa34b6202cbe9e78bfadc22

OMG!!! YES! I was thinking of this drama too but totally forgot the name and was trying to google it, since I had watched it a while ago. It was actually quite decent for its time, but like you said, dragged. It was really unique, because I know the female lead there was the "ugly one". But can you believe it, 22 years later, and there isn't a more recent one that showcases a female lead who does not fit the traditional beauty standard? It's insane to me, and why I feel so strongly that IN BLOSSOM had the potential to be quite progressive had they went the same route, when it took so long since that last drama for an "ugly" heroine. Thank you so much for sharing the title. It was actually bugging me and I was about to google up the actors and actresses from that drama. (I forgot to say, they did a soul swap drama recently called A FAMILIAR STRANGER, which was released in 2022. It was a web drama, but it is not the same because both actresses were gorgeous to begin with, and no one had any scar or deformities. LOL)

Another YouTube vlogger which is avenueX is also very criticizing towards this actress. Didn’t let me be influenced.…
I am not a fan of JJY from watching her previous dramas, because I just didn't feel her acting range, even though she was adorable in LEGEND OF YUNXI. She's absolutely stunning and totally idol material, but I will give it to her that this character of her as a villain, and now as YCW has been an improvement for her. It feels like her best performance thus far. I hope she'll continue to grow in her profession.
