Yep, but the perspective of that time were not "hopeful". 9/11 just hapenned and people were seing all the cruelty and chaos towards it. It's not the right time for uplifting feels. And the drama wanted to show that and the consequences of it. They're humans after all, with ups and downs. I consider it very well written because of that.

I guess the ratings decreased a little because of the ep 14 ending. I hope the next episodes built a good ending, despite them getting together or not. And the rating keeps stable despite that if it's a good one
