yeah i hated it for the reasons kathryn lists above, but Taekyung already loves and wants to raise Haneul it is a choice he already made a year ago without having the obligation to do so as her bio dad. So if he now happened to actually be through some macguffin happenstance to really BE her bio dad too, this would feel like a nice bonus by now instead of a copout. Plus ngl the main reason i want that is it would shut down and up this creepy mf once and for all. Outside of a WTOD i do not see another possibility to do this, bc he certainly won't improve character-wise.

(Hell i think them meeting in the apartment that he wants to rent out in all of Seoul her picking his, is even more unlikely than the hotel room theory ngl)

yeah it is pretty telling that almost no one mentioned the kiss, and this is simply because it is baked in between so much bullshit that you have forgotten it ever happened when you finished watching the dreadful eps 34.

I guess there is a reason we are not mentioning/talking about the kiss bc we are too busy yelling at Yeondoo's noble insanity and many cruel actions, including year long ghosting of everyone.

i used to hate this theory so much ngl, but after everything YD and everyone else has put TK through for a year, i now want this magic fix instead of 🍓 being the one, lol. Knetz still LOVES this theory and those writers are known to listen (this is why the sperm donation storyline was trashed btw)

honestly by now that off kilter fan theory of yd drunkenly stumbling into TK's hotel room instead of JH's on their 300 days celebration, and sleep with an equally intoxicated TK to make him Haneuls' bio dad sounds more appealing and sound than ever and certainly whatever the writers have planned with their upcoming dNa tEsTInG cUsTOdy bAtTlE subplot bs 😂

Yeah after how they all reacted (minus Soojung and granny) i don't want haneul being related to this ghoul fam either. But since the writers have written themselves into such a shitstained corner with taking the most illogical approach to resolve or rather NOT resolve the main conflict of the lie for the sake of melodrama/makjang... i don't see any other way to solve the gong disapproval/conflict other than BN being ttalgi. When there were several actually before these disastrous last two episodes, in fact. Yes, still salty.

The other way they have hit a wall writing-wise at full speed is with this creepy stalking cockroach. I dunno what happened here actually for them to change so much, but this asshole was supposed to be toned down instead of amped up in creepiness and delusion. He was supposed to gradually fade out of the picture, after helping to bring his fellow hellspawn down. Now however with weepy willow proving she is the best in running away and ghosting people, she has done him the biggest favor she could, actively endangering Haneul instead of protecting her.

Because due to the lack of marriage registration with TK before birth this damn idiot opened all doors wide for the dumpsterfire to swoop in and claim paternity and following through with his threats of never letting her get away and out of his sight. Fucking well done YD, fucking well done writers. And this stalking red flag bearer definitely will never give up, no matter what anyone says or wants, he is there to claim his prized pets he sees YD and the kid as. And i actually see no story-wise solution anymore to shut this creepy mf down, to not force YD to be with/around him for the rest of her life, when there were several before these two disastrous episodes. This is the epitome of having written yourself in a corner, really.

The only solution i see, because stalking shitstain is certainly NOT changing his "I am i the problem? No it is the others that are wrong" approach/way of thinking anymore is having him meet a WTOD and/or "heroic" death by saving YD/Haneul from danger. Otherwise....TK and YD won't have a moment of peace anymore, going forward and i hate everything about this. Because it could have been SO VERY EASILY avoided with better writing/story choices. Hell, even with actually following through with JH's redemption instead to amp him up to the world's creepiest delusional ex obsessing over getting back together OR ELSE.

Yeah, the way i removed all traces of YD/TK (i used to love a lot before the writers completely ruined it for me with eps 34) from my mdl profile feels as abrupt a break up as weepy willow vanishing into the night, ngl. And today i am still sad, my eyes are puffy and my head hurts from crying/the emotional toll of the episode. So yeah definitely close to the real thing haha.

Here is hoping YD has to work at least half as hard to regain TK's trust as these writers will have to do extra hard with me in order to make me root again for the leads (inevitable) HE together. Needs something in the form of a miracle to achieve that tho, because right now the only couple i ship in this drama is Taekyung/happiness. He is the sole reason now i am not dropping/continue watching, tbh. Outside of the support/rant group here that is this comment section of course.

And before someone is quoting me wrong: I don't even fault YD for leaving, i would want to put as much distance as possible between me and the haunted gong horror house with its hysteric and hypocritical zombies too after all this. I get the need to protect the kid too... BUUUUUUT i very much fault her for not talking to him about it, even lying to and betraying his trust in breaking her promise made to stay with him, without any warning/heads up. Least of all give him the choice to leave with her, to stay at her side, to keep her own promise. But nope she ghosted him, abandoned and hurt him like everyone else in his life did. FOR A WHOLE YEAR and would have never contacted him if it weren't for the dramaland happenstance forcing her to face him (with her mind racing how to get out of there and run away, no doubt)

This is why she has been up- or rather downgraded to being called weepy willow now. Because crying and running away from all of her problems is what she is most skilled at, after all. Let's see if she can earn her name back with me. My grudge and level of saltiness toward her is gigantic right now, however. Time to watch some other things for a few days before it is time to get back onto the bullshit rodeo for more disappointment and or character/relationship assassination lying ahead. having watched the scene with subs now... well oof first of all but i also think to make him doubt was purpose of it all, so weepy willow has to put in the work to actually MAKE him believe in her love. Question only is.... why would she do this instead to bolt and run away like always? What is stopping her? Certainly not her deep love for him, as she already has proven before in abandoning him without a second thought. So impasse, much?

What hit me was the contrast of these scenes. Uncle asking weepy willow what about TK and she coolly says: "It is all in the past. It is all over with him." While our man zombiewalks into an empty home and has the question of bongnim "if YD would have left him this easily if she genuinely loved him replay like a horror movie in his mind." I don't think the way these two scenes interlaced is a coincidence tbh. Kinda meant to linger and fester while forcing him to let go and also hinting at that well maybe BN did tell the truth here.

Wow, I have rarely seen a main couple being so utterly taken apart and unintentionally be deconstructed by writers fail/bad decisions THIS quickly. Not everyone manages that, for sure. I have no idea how they are going to salvage this relationship in a way it is believable/organic and makes the viewer still root for their happy end together, actually.

Really hoping you are right, because otherwise it really takes a deepdive into unhealthy/toxic relationship dynamics, if it hasn't yet already, with him pining for her for nearly a year, while she was not giving a single damn about him at all. We really really need some or rather a lot of balance and that quickly to somewhat salvage the mess that once was an actual cute partner and relationship.

well this would make it a lot easier for YD/TK to marry... (but who wants that at this point lbr not me, lmao. At least not until weepy willow works really hard for it) bc no on paper cousins but the struggle of Haneul being accepted stays the same. Possibly continue to disapprove even their marriage in general unless they marry in secret away from the fams which lol weepy willow would never go against any rule or the barest of disapproval.

It kills the YM/DW relationship if timeskip hasn't already who tf knows at this point, not me. But i also no longer care for YM that hypocrite so good riddance and may she choke on it. Point is, i actually expect the writer to subvert gong fam's hypocrisy and feeling mightily clever about it in having them needing to tiptoe around YD/HN and cower instead the other way around due to them suddenly being blood fam member. And we know for these vampires, blood is everything.

We probably should say goodbye to the idea that we will get anything non-cliche and surprising to see, or writing of characters/events that you know... make sense, after these two episodes just now shat the bed in such an enormously stinky fashion. So just think now of the most obvious trite thing that could happen and we can nearly be certain that does happen. And imo this is bongnim as the one-fits all solution to the leads' family problems while creating new ones the writers certainly find enough cliches for before solving it in the most unsatisfactory fashion. Me, salty? Nah. 🙃
