Like at first glance it was very uncharacteristic of him to lash out at YD and draw such extreme lines between them like he did after everything they have been through together. But it is part frustration with his current new living situation/unwelcome reminder what could have been while meeting SJ and part him being defensive/pushing her away to protect himself. Since you know she has the innate talent to get under his skin with her questions and sharp observations. It rattles him and deflecting or/an lashing out is easier than to stop and think about *why* that is, after all. Heh. He is cautious and not ready to open up to her like she asked him to. That is, of course, on top of his toxic, abusive fam having done such a number on him emotionally while growing up and living in such stifling conditions ever since. But he/they will come out of it stronger, since he is well reflected/emotionally intelligent (in spite of everything) after his temper has cooled off. He is caring and empathic. Always owning his mistakes too and apologizing quickly when needed. All good signs that he is more well-adjusted than you would think him to be after/while living in such a toxic environment. Just needs time to adjust to all the changes, is all.
YD's fam is all but perfect either, but scenes with them feel like vacation atm and incidentally those are the only ones where you see both of them smiling (and at each other at that, cuties) So while they gotta learn to live together of course i also hope that they get the chance to get out of that stifling and gaudy annex house more often. They are way more at ease in those times. I think in the future they probably will get their own place away from there. Together. Heh.

But so are the leads, so we are at least not alone in feeling trapped and murderous whenever some idiotic family member opens their mouth to accuse Yeondoo, when she dares to do as much as breathing. Which basically was the theme of this weeks' episodes: The uncomfortable bed, or rather the even more uncomfortable chair, we made for ourselves and have now to lie and also live in it. And with a blood-obsessed vampire next door whose every second word is "illegitimate/legitimate" in regards of the people unfortunate enough to be related to her, at that. As though she is tasked with picking an heir for the throne, but that is a story for another joseon time and historical kdrama 😂
Predictably Yeondoo's and Taekyun's first attempt at playing not (yet) husband and wife goes terribly. Also TK unhelpfully throws his voice into the chorus of accusing YD of wrongdoing. So Yeondoo has the worst time and probably imagines thousand ways in her head to kill them all, while actually smiling and nodding to whatever inane shit they are saying to her. I know i would. Too bad her outburst at the 84 yrs old toddler was just a sike of the writers tho. A shame she hasn't strangled that jealous cow of a sister in law either, she actually could blame it on raging pregnancy hormones afterwards. Would at least keep that cow from leaking any info to granny as though she is a US government worker with security clearance and a discord server. Ah well. I also do wonder how In Ok has strangled no one to death in their sleep either. They would deserve it tenfold. Luckily for them, the level of patience this woman has for their constant bullshit is over 9000 and only rivaled by Yeondoos rn.

It is a theme we are going to see further next week, since our man is going through a bit of an understandable existential crisis with those 100 changes in his live a minute and thus will be momentarily cosplaying as Frozen's Elsa (Conceal don't feel, don't let them... her knoooow) But i am looking forward to see his slow descent starting from the current "let me out LET ME OUT" into "Huh it is not so bad after all" into the end level "I love this life, my kid and my wife and if you touch any of them i will kill anyone in this room <3" happening. For now, it is a very work in progress tho.

In the end it only added fuel to the blazing flame of hatred already burning inside of Taekyung for her. Their justice system seems a bit f-up too and way too lenient with punishments in general, but especially toward powerful/rich ppl. See Seungri, for example.

So basically while he makes an effort TK is also struggling and feels suffocated in this "difficult" relationship of theirs, bc he has to be husband and father all at once. Which logically makes no sense as this is what he agreed to, but seeing it from a human pov... he struggles to adjust to so many changes at once. Guess especially for someone who loved their freedom and being on their own before (given how his family excluded him to the point where he is not even trying anymore) it does not surprise he needs time to adjust to that.
