this is so well written 🥹, really captured everything i felt about this show and the way I've been rooting for yumi for the past 5 years. gonna miss her soso much and how i wish we got more episodes. i've loved all the seasons so far but this was definitely one that had me kicking my feet and giggling and a couple more eps of their dating era would have truly healed me!
soonroks cells are so cute!! i love how we got his perspective hoping to see much more of itt ps his rational cell being so done with everything is so relatable
the setup is a little weird? but decided to trust the actors and am really enjoying it cus wdym i get to see cha hakyeon do this kind of quirky bl role...ep 3&4 were rly fun watches!
honestly this whole story feels like something that the stereotypical 'unpopular shy girl' from a 2000s high school movie would be brewing up in her journal...it started off using tropes ironically until it wasnt
this drama is weird in the way its making me wanna have kids and raise them the way aesun and gwansik did when i barely have a so and have never had any thoughts of marriage...they're healing my inner child fr ðŸ˜
started this without any expectations (except ofc the cast) but am extremely in love- did not know this would be such a heart wrenching watch, im such a crying mess
i was part of the crowd who weren't content with the director's choice to change up the storyline so much but for the entirety of ep 29 i thought about the plotline and in retrospect, the hongkong bit - while draggy and cliche - wasn't as much of a distraction from the plot as it initially felt. i came to accept wen yifan's choice and the last 4 eps really healed me in restoring my faith in selfless love...this was probably the best wrap up to a drama i have seen in a while and i loved it so so much, these two will always be soso dear to me <3 this was a drama that gave hope that no matter how bleak your situation may seem at the moment and how undeserving of love you may feel, it will get better and your world will be filled with light again..
dont know if i'm the only one feeling this way but, the past 4 episodes have left me so confused and i can't even tell whether i like this as an adaptation or not..i'm just too far in and too attached to the characters to leave but as a novel reader i have serious mixed feelings
The reason it makes me upset the most it that because of this change the director has dumbed down two characters…
nope, it never happens in the novel her coworkers there actually notice a guy constantly asking for her and lurking by the news station and inform her and advice her to ask sang yan to pick her up...making him a security guard there was so unnecessary, i think they were just trying to justify her leaving smh
the wen yifan i loved in the novel is a lot of things but a coward isnt one of them...she had her inhibitions and insecurities and worries but she never thought to run away from the situation after meeting sang yan the way drama wen yifan did...their yihe reconciliation scene was one of my favourites originally and the way the she dealt with her trauma and the unwavering support sang yan gave her were objectively the best part of the the original story. to change it like this is so disappointing and the drama team needs to get better..beautifully filmed, actors are doing an amazing job but all to lose the essence of the story...ep 24&25 were just incredibly disappointing
i definitely feel a good part of how stupid she seems is to be blamed on the screenwriters of the drama specifically…
exactly, the author of the original work has written strong and self-dependent leads in all of the the works of hers which i've read; to suddenly have wen yifan -who has possibly gone through the most of all the fls- be this victimised and almost stupid is odd. my best justification of the production team would be the loss of emotional nuances in screenplay..when we read a novel written largely from yifans pov, its much easier to empathise and feel for her since we are directly being told how she's feeling but on screen, theres only so much expressions can convey so they chose to dramatise her suffering to make it easier for viewers to feel for her even if that was through her lack of self protective instinct the romance here is beautiful but the people justifying her behaviour are almost undermining the self defence a victim can show
I wanted to stay quiet but well I can’t. So this creep who sexually assaulted her multiple times comes back…
i definitely feel a good part of how stupid she seems is to be blamed on the screenwriters of the drama specifically since they chose to change up a couple of seemingly small things from the novel. in the novel he doesn't actually get employed at her workplace, only lingers around it and even then, her coworkers make sure to let her know theres a creepy dude looking for her. i don't really understand why exactly they had to give the people around her a false sense of security in the drama by turning him into a 'nice' security guard...in the novel after her encounter with her uncle, she asks sang yan to give her a ride to and fro work and even considers buying a car of her own which was her safest form of self defence considering her personality... the over-victimisation and 'damsel in distress'-ification of wen yifan by the drama team is possibly its greatest flaw
they're so stinking cute i cant even i love that wen yifan is slowly bringing down her walls and opening up to sang yan, drunk wen yifan is the cutest ps-for my non-novel readers, a good part of her drunk antics originally were about her 'purchasing him' so he wouldnt have to keep his 'star' title and she could have him to herself...this cutie
they're both such cuties i will cry 😠the little eye talk between WYF and ZSQ at their gathering was possibly their most bestie moment yet, they're all so endearing
the delicacy with which zhang ruo nan portrays wen yifan is so beautiful to see from her soft smiles to detached expressions to the awkwardness she has around others from years of pushing people away...she could've easily given off main character syndrome but she does it so gracefully
ps his rational cell being so done with everything is so relatable
