After watching the first episode, Kim Hee Ae just doesn't give the same "one step away from a psychopath" vibe that made Suranne Jones from the original perfect for this role. She has this bubly, housewife energy, that takes me out of the drama. Original is still better. And they are following it pretty tightly, down to finding the phone in the car trunk. I always thought that was a brilliant hiding place (all of you that are cheating on your wives should pay attention :p)

This drama has touched my heart in such a way, that i don't remember any other piece of western or eastern media has in recent times. It's not a story for everyone, if you like thrillers and romcoms, the peaceful, slow unravelling of the story plot points might not be for you. This drama has a purpose, and that purpose is to tell a story about imperfect families, about finding warmth in a cold place and last but not least the important support from friends and your local community. Especially this last aspect is where the drama excells, presenting not an idealized view of community, but a realistic one, they are there for you when you need to go to the hospital, but also will gossip about your dates and your love life. There were some plot inconsistencies with Hae Won's aunt, for which I'm giving this drama 9.5 and not a perfect 10. I wish it was longer, I feel like there are plenty more stories to be told from this mountain village.

More believable?? I don't know any psychopath in real life that will date you for stealing a medical report to help a client haha :) maybe you are running in different circles than me where that is "believable" :p as for the business card lets not even try, it's not a valid document for identification, you won't even pass the nurse at the front desk, but yeah Korean drama, i have low expectations.

Oh wow, they made a Korean version of Doctor Foster! It is one of my favorite british shows, I'm sure with their flare for melodrama the Koreans will make it even edgier! Does anyone know where can I watch this show legally?

Except for unofficial translations, very few Thai BL books have been translated, the only other one that comes to mind, and a chinese one at that, is "The Untamed". It was fan translated by a group called "exiled rebels" you can find them via google, it's veeery long though. But if it doesn't have to be from Thailand, you can probably find dozen of books if you search on Amazon for m/m romance.

I can recommend you My Ride from Patrick Rangsimant, you can buy it on Amazon, ebook and physical, he self-published it, and it will be soon a tv show. It's not in college though, the characters already work. I'm half-way done and it's pretty ok for a first book, so far no problematic tropes, like that rape-favoring woman in her stories, MAME.

You are mostly right, it was an interesting idea for a show, but they hinged it on absurd plot points, could've been much better.

Episode 14 was also a bit draggy, they prolonged the big reveal so much, by everyone not being able to say the truth, and give proper explaination why the book needs to be read, i was internally screaming read the book already and let's get it over with.

While the inspiration from the american show "Suits" is clearly noticable, the cases are not so well thought out and the plot asks from the viewer some pretty high suspension of disbelief for some of the development. For example, in episode 3 Jung Geum Ja gets access to a guarded, vip patient in a hospital by showing a fake business card lol :D Still the cat-and-mouse game between the two leads is very enjoyable and finally a FL showing some agency, character, determination, and not scared to get her hands dirty.

You are right, there is indeed a picture and it's not fan made, both of them just did not make the cut, the picture was made at the auditions.

There was a comprehensive post on Facebook from Lazy Subber, detailing all the cast changes, and she (or he?) said Nine and Saint did not pass the casting call. BohnDuen are, I believe, the third (or was it fourth?) casting choice.

I think it's a "toilet" effect, the first one was like a "chamber of secrets" one with secret sword out of a hat that increased Bohn strength to superman levels, the second one was criptonite :p this is what i choose to believe, and I'm not backing down :P

I find the three of them equally annoying, but just wanted to say that the FL did not get over Jae Sun in a blink, because she said she's been trying with him for 10 years! But because of the whole ridiculous plot point (you left a small cat in a scarf on the street) he wouldn't open up to her.

For me it would make even more sense for Hong Jo to bond with Jae Sun, Sol Ah gave her scarf to the boy and left, while Jae Sun took him off the streets, and cared for him even though he has a cat allergy. Sol Ah was taking care of him for only a couple of months. But no boys love (fun) allowed im Korea, I guess.

Stressing again that it's a romcom, and thus not really meant for deep plot dissection, I will raise a couple of points from your comment. First I wanna say a couple of things pro Bohn even though I think he is a bit of a douchebag. This is Bohn's first time dating a guy for which he fell pretty hard and I think he doesn't really know how to handle himself, he feels constantly insecure, especially since Duen rejected him pretty severely the first couple of times he confessed, so he sees everybody as a threat to getting the guy he wants, and it doesn't help that people, including Frong, consistently threaten to take Duen away, or flirt with him when Bohn's around. I don't condone his jealous outbursts, but sympathize with him. Now things contra Bohn :) I think Duen's friends being against Bohn was very natural and they were not a couple in ep.5, they thought all of it was just teasing from Bohn's side since this was the guy that made Duen skip class to buy rosses for him, shames Duen on social media posting stuff about Duen that he did not consent to, saw him hugging another guy in the toilet, and is generally nasty to all his juniors, so putting him through "trials" to prove his intentions, besides serving also for excellent comedic effect, makes sense. And about the fairness of the fight, we saw, I think in episode 2, when Bohn was assaulted in the toilet that he did manage to hold his own in a fight, so it's not like he is defenseless ;)
